  1. The snakes are causing $4 million a year in damage to the power grid in Guam. If it takes an $8 million solution that's a bargain in the long term...
  2. Noticed Fotki was acting a little strange last night, figured they must have been starting whatever it was they're doing to bring all the missing picutres back. Checked my own Fotki and some of my favorites I keep bookmarked and found that a good majority of the missing pictures are back! Some pages that were totally blank yesterday now have about 75-90% of their pictures back. Good news, I've always liked Fotki and how it worked and it's great to see the missing pictures start to come back online.
  3. I think you got that backwards... Lemme see how much OPM I get for Christmas.
  4. I'm pretty sure Horizon Hobby is their US importer. Try http://www.horizonhobby.com. But if they don't carry an item, it's unlikely anyone else in the US will have it since Horizon is the US source.
  5. BAH!!!! Now I want one too!!! Thanks for the look at the contents, it's always refreshing to see a resin conversion with an instruction sheet!!!
  6. It was based on diecast tooling (in fact, I think it was originally a Bullitt die-cast). The body's a little slab-sided, but not nearly as bad as the diecast-based 70 Challenger that came out around the same time. It has a metal axles and screws in the chassis and rather simplified parts breakdown. There's a review here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17689
  7. They were originally from Hawk. I don't know what's up with the Russian box....
  8. The other goofy one is CH for Switzerland.
  9. I'm pretty sure E is for Spain - "EspaƱa" Argh, beat me to it while I was trying to figure out how to do the squiggly line over the n.
  10. I know John Mueller and Jim Foster both drew instruction sheets for AMT in the 60's. Mr. Mueller went on to become a kit designer and is still active in the industry (his latest designed kit is the new Revell '70 Hemi 'cuda) and Mr. Foster is the current President of Revell. They were both hired by AMT on the same day, if I remember the story correctly.
  11. Snagged the new Moebius '56 Chrysler 300B. These should be in hobby shops and retailers soon.
  12. I should add that Black, White, and Red interiors were the only colors available on Z16's, only Black vinyl tops, and only 3 exterior paint colors, Tuxedo Black, Regal Red, and Crocus Yellow. There were other colors available on Chevelle and Malibu, but these were the only Z16 colors.
  13. From the Z16 Registry website - http://www.z16chevelle.com/Z16%20Registry.htm 12 confirmed black cars exist, 4 of those have a black vinyl top. 5 with black interior: 4 of those without vinyl top (5.41% of known cars) 1 of those with vinyl top (triple black) (1.35% of known cars) 5 with red interior: 2 of those without vinyl top (2.70% of known cars) 3 of those with vinyl top (4.05% of known cars) 2 with white interior (none of those has a vinyl top) (2.70% of known cars)
  14. The Parts by Parks velocity stacks have a little more flare than most other aftermarket stacks: I seem to recall some resin stacks that have even more of a bell shape, but I can't recall who made them. Rep & Min, maybe?
  15. Cut and pasted text Working fine for me (on Firefox).
  16. They're up now. http://www.revell.com/new.html
  17. It's definitely a Euro-style trailer hitch (with a ball cover) and electrical connection.
  18. I say leave it as it is, but maybe change it to "News and Reviews" . Then, when/if someone does an actual build review (like Tim Boyd did with the Hemi 'cuda) start a new topic with a link to the actual review with "build review" or something like that in the title.
  19. Yep, they're the new Polyglas tires.
  20. A friend of mine gave me the nickname "Wip" because I rarely finish anything and all my models are works in progress...
  21. Link to story on Top Gas twins - http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCStory.asp?ID=245639 Part 2 on the less successful Top Fuel twins - http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCStory.asp?ID=245805
  22. The Ken's Automotive's "Odd Couple" Top Gas dragster with the SBC and Hemi that was posted earlier won the Top Gas class at NHRA Winternationals the last year the class was run (1971, IIRC) The "Freight Train" twin engine Top Gas dragster was highly successful and probably the best-known twin engine dragster of all time. The twin engine dragsters were more successful (dominant, really) running in the lower "Top Gas" class, but did not find much success in the top-level "Top Fuel" class after Top Gas was discontinued. Probably why they're not as well-known, they were never as sucessful at the highest level of drag racing.
  23. I think technically they're 4th qtr 2013 releases, but they're doing limited edition reissues of the 1/16 scale Karmann Ghia coupe and the Rally version of the 1/24 Unimog. Probably hit the States in Jan or Feb.
  24. The series are also grouped by price point.
  25. Renwal was an early model company, based on Long Island and known primarily for their military models. They did a series of car kits known as the Renwal Revival series, they were modern takes on classic cars. Renwal was bought by Revell in the late 60's or early 70's. One of Revell's best known and longest running models, the 1/4 scale Visible V-8, was originally a Renwal model. Revell has been reissuing some of the old Renwal kits in original-style packaging recently.
