"Outside" Pictures of a replica of: Rick Dore's "Illusion"
jjsipes replied to John Teresi's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful build. I just seen on Rick Dore's Facebook page that he lost some pictures of thus car and was wondering if anyone had high resolution pics of the car. Seems like you might be the man to help out. -
Any new info on the Moebius '67/'68 Chevy pickups?

My father, who doesn't have a computer, keeps asking about any news on these. Does anyone have any updates? -
Thanks Paul. I sprayed it with Tamiya Bright Mica Red

I seem to have misplaced my seat cushion for the rumble seat for my AMT 1936 Ford 3 Window. Looks like it would be part #44. Would anyone have an extra that they would be willing to part with? Would love to be able to finish this with a working rumble seat.

Looking great! That is an awesome kit. Wish they would bring it back out. Nothing like a bright Red 57 Bel Air. The one I built using the stock kit based off similar tooling as the street machine

Custom Local police Department Decals
jjsipes posted a topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I just purchased the AMT Charger Pursuit kit and would like to build a custom cruiser from my local police department. Have not been able to find decals for this. Would anyone be able to create and print this for me and at what cost? -

Looking great Mark. Alot of scratch building going into this one. -
Just put a wrap on my 1981 Championship winning Buick as driven by Darrell Waltrip. Old Monogram kit with Salvino JR Models decals. Airbrushed the Tamiya White, applied decals and added a coat of Future Floor Gloss. Did my usual exhaust modification by cutting the kit pipes and added aluminum tubing.

Will need to get multiples of each for my stash

Sox & Martin 1964 A/FX Mercury Comet Caliente
jjsipes replied to Scott Eriksen's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I built 2 of them years ago. I need to get them out and clean them up some. I did the Thunderbolt chassis, shortened a little with a resin hood. I believe I had gotten my wheels from Reliable Resin but, we won't go there. I built the early white car and then the later dual snorkel hood car. I will be following your build with great interest. I think these were some of Ronnie's best-looking cars. Just something about the Comet shape. -

This is the new color Tamiya Pearl Light Blue TS-58 with Tamiya Clear. I cleared the prior Blue but it changed the color somewhat and I didn't like it. Not to mention, it didn't have any shine to it. I even tried the Future Floor Gloss but that didn't give it much shine either. -

Whatever I tried, I just could not get the paint to look right. Scuffed and reshot the body. No pictures yet but coming soon. -
Everybody talking about pricing on the Round2 Models but, I was just at my local Hobbytown USA and they had the new release of the Revell 57 Bel Air Sedan, Revell 64 Impala and the Bronco Half Cab priced at $50 ea! Not sure why so much but, I passed on them. I hope they were mispriced. Round2 kits were down in the low to mid $30 range.

AMT 1/16 Scale 1985 Thunderbird

Mark, haven't really gotten into much other than the body. The way the body was molded sucked! Not saying mine is perfect but I feel it looks closer to the actual car. What little rollcage I have looked at, it is different than the old Monogram TBird. The passenger side door bars have padding molded on them, I did take time and cut them out and replaced them. The firewall looks to be a little narrow. Will let you know the other stuff as I move forward. -

Took a minute before the rain and storms hit today and sprayed some primer to see what I had and what I need to work on yet. -

AMT 1/16 Scale 1985 Thunderbird

I've studying what to do with the bulging front fenders. Looked at the front track width and determined that I could not narrow up the front fenders without alot of suspension work. Started measuring the body and found the the width from driver side to the passenger side in front of the rear wheel opening was wider that the width right behind the front wheel openings. That means the body pinches in from rear to front in the door area. Just determined that maybe the best avenue to take would be to try and blend the front fender bulge into the doors. The body is looking better to me. Need to finish up cleaning up both sides and to see about whether I need that body line back in through the doors or not. I feel like it's hard to get a picture to illustrate what I have done. -

I have decals for kit decals for the 7-Eleven Kyle Petty, kit decals for Cale Yarbough Hardees and an aftermarket set of Bill Elliott Coors from MPR. Not sure which I will build first. I have 2 of these Thunderbird kits that I picked up locally at my Hobby Shop that bought them from a collection. I think he still has the 85 Richard petty Grand Prix kit but, I already have one of those in my stash.
