  1. That's exactly what happens. Posts in the drag-racing section are occasionally flagged as adult content, especially if there are certain types of adoring comments. I'm so looking forward to the era when AIs can be diagnosed with mental illnesses. ?
  2. This is great. Thank you for posting them, but they belong in a different place. I'll move it and leave a link to the new location.
  3. I don't like the missing pictures either. Losing Harry Pristovnik's build pictures hurt a lot. We spent a lot of time in a very awkward place where we didn't have enough readership to afford a better host, and needing too many resources for an affordable hosting plan. Externally hosting the photos was the only solution we had, then Photobucket turned around and bit us in a place not normally mentioned in the New York Times. It was little more than a crass grab for revenue. It actually backfired on them. Many people were laid off, although I believe the decision makers were allowed to slink away. We're now on a bigger server, and we can get the resources we need. This site needs a tremendous amount of storage. Our full backups are pushing 300GB. This is why we have the ads. I don't like them either, but it pays the bills. If you want to go back and fix your old threads, We'd appreciate that very much. Please contact me and I can enable that.
  4. I've got a bit of a space problem too. I'm storing our collective model stash in the garage rafters. But my real troubles began when my wife went up there for something and exclaims. "Where did all these come from?!" It didn't help that the model railroad stuff that my wife wants to keep and my daughter's kits were up there too. Additional kits are a rarity these days, and to be honest, that seems to be just fine.
  5. They're still here. Between Google's intransigence and advertisers gaming the system, this is getting ridiculous. I'll go tweak some more settings. I'm about ready to build a cruise missile.
  6. I generally try to avoid getting duplicate kits. There are exceptions. I have two of the Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grandsport, a couple of the Revell '30 ford Coupe, a couple of the Revell '29 Fords, and a pair of the Ernie Irvan #4 cars. But, it's getting to the point where I can't keep track of what's up there anymore, so I'm doing a kit inventory as part of our garage remodel.
  7. I tweaked the settings. We'll have to see if they addus giganticus goes away and stays gone.
  8. We've talked about this before, and the general feeling seems to be that the like button is an impediment to good conversations. We may well revisit the topic in the future.
  9. Unfortunately ad blockers means we don't get the revenue we need to keep the site going. I have mixed feelings about the ads. Without them, we don't have a site. But, Google is getting worse on several fronts. It's been an ongoing problem. Ideally, we'd be able to place model car ads on the site ourselves. It'd be a great way for kit and aftermarket manufacturers to reach the very people who want their prodcts the most. But we're not there yet. We don't make any significant money on this site. It would be nice, but the revenue has just never been there.
  10. I listen to music. What music depends on my mood. It can be anything from Hindemith to the Tragically Hip.
  11. Sadly, no. I'll be working on that tonight.
  12. The board software no longer supports any version of Internet Explorer. I don't know if Firefox supports your OS, but it would be worth checking.
  13. We've had some major problems with outside photo services hosting pictures. Photo Bucket is not a good name around here. I recommend directly uploading the pictures with the attachment facility just below where you enter text. You can either drag and drop the files, or choose them individually.
  14. I wonder if it'd be feasible to clean up your casting and use it as a master for a new mold.
  15. Optometrist. Be sure to mention it when you get your eyes examined. They can prescribe bifocals, and/or a second pair of glasses.
  16. Not sure what to suggest. It does work fine on my iPad, and it seems like it should work fine on yours. If you haven't tried this yet, thy turning the iPad off, then on again. I find that clears up a lot of strange behavior that can set in when they're left on for very long periods of time.
  17. This sounds like presbyopia. I was diagnosed with it at the ripe old age of 45. Get yourself a magnifier lamp. I have one that looks like an adjustable desk lamp with a ring of LEDs around it. Makes all the difference in the world.
  18. Amazingly, their support people are available on weekends. They pointed me to some settings that needed to be changed. I've done that, and I no longer see the extraneous information. Please let me know if you still see it, and where.
  19. Where is this appearing? Is it just certain threads, or perhaps certain sections. I'm going to open a problem ticket with the software vendor. I don't think I'll get any response before Monday.
  20. This is a new one on me, but I think I know what happened. On the left side of the page is a little arrow head facing right. click it. This opens the block manager on the left of the page. Blocks are defined regions on the page that contain data of interest. Scroll up to the top of the block with the information you don't want and click the X and that information should disappear. scroll down the the bottom of the block manager, and click Done Editing. You should be back to normal.
  21. I'm discovering a bunch of little improvements like that. My favorite so far is the border around the reply box with a little blip to make it look like a dialog in a comic book.
  22. We've noticed some problems with people posting pictures from Facebook. Eventually, the links to access them go dead.
  23. iPad should work. I’m writing this post on my iPad. I suspect you need to clear your browser cache, and probably should have mentioned that in my initial message. the above pictures are from previous posting, and a new one from my photo library on my iPad. (Sorry, no model car pics on my iPad.)
  24. We've upgraded the forum software to the current version. I apologize for the short notice, but there was a security patch that needed to be expeditiously installed. There are some minor changes to the forum's appearance, but nothing drastic. Mobile users should see some significant improvements in usability. I'm already noting much better readability on my desktop and tablet. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.
  25. I recently built the Fujimi kit. It goes together reasonably well, but there's no engine. The rest of it looks great.
