  1. We're trying to figure out why this is happening. If it happens to you again, please send me a screen shot with the URL.
  2. Very neat. This is an intriguing style. I really want to call this Turbine Punk. But some last vestiges of good taste tell me to keep that to myself.
  3. Can you PM a screen shot to me?
  4. I can't speak to the magazine distribution issues. International distribution and payments have always been difficult and costly, especially for small publications. Digital distribution bypasses most of those problems, but isn't viable for a lot of people. I don't believe the forums will suddenly go away.
  5. I normally run Chrome, so I know this board works well on that browser. We have a a few pending problems: I can't update our theme. Tried that on the last maintenance window, and it failed. Once I can update the theme, the diagnostic should go away. It's strictly cosmetic, and leaving it will cause less disruption than switching to a different look and feel. We're still having the "404" problem. We had reason to believe that it would get better with the new board software revision, but it didn't. The Gallery is completely broken. We'll have to reinitialize the gallery and start from scratch, but the problems above are higher priority. In the meantime, if you do get a 404 error. Please send me a screenshot with the URL, and the time the error occurred. We're still not sure what the source of the error is, and need all the diagnostic information we can get. Thanks, Dave Ambrose
  6. That is correct.
  7. you can post as many pictures as you want. We removed the picture limits some time back as our disk space is now unlimited.
  8. Wow. You were both very fortunate indeed. Best wishes for her speedy and complete recovery.
  9. Sorry, Pacific Standard Time.
  10. I'm going to take the board offline for 30 minutes or so at 9 AM PST to try to deal a few issues tomorrow morning. Shouldn't be long.
  11. My cat, Shasta, normally sleeps on a comfy kitty bed on the other end of the hobby table. Not today. She needs to sleep right in the kit box with a bunch of sub-assemblies. That said, she does make for a cute, if expensive picture.
  12. Nope, I'm in pretty much the diagonally opposite corner of the country.
  13. Post a screen shot, if you can. You should be able to post as many pictures as you want.
  14. If you're looking at the unread content page, clicking the dot between the avatar, and the topic will take you to the first unread post. It's in the usual place in the sub-forums; to the left of the topic. If there's no unread content, there will be no dot.
  15. I don't know about availability, but it's 1/43rd scale.
  16. Looks like I still need to work on the themes. I'll take a look and see what's out there. These only control appearance, and not functionality. Sorry, but if something is particularly bothersome, let me know. I might be able to tweak the behavior with the administration controls. Our current theme automatically accommodates phones and tablets, but perhaps not in the way that we'd like.
  17. So far, things seem to be working well. I know some of you don't like change. Unfortunately, that's inherent in having a computer these days. The new forum software works much better with tablets and phones. I'm going to like that. I'll probably declare another maintenance window some time around Christmas to tidy up the back room. It should also help reduce load times.
  18. I see that too. Have been trying to fix it without much luck. I opened a support ticket with InVision.
  19. I'm pretty sure the search index got cleared out. There were a lot of database changes. That index will take a while to rebuild because we have so much content on this site. In the meantime go to google and add site:www.modelcarsmag.com to your search query.
  20. The site update is complete. There are a few more things to do, but they aren't vital, and I'll catch up with them later. We are now on the current version of the software, which is vital for keeping the site secure. It will be much easier to keep the site current now too. The appearance has changed. I tried to avoid that, but couldn't. That said, I think you'll find the site easier to read. I certainly do. But, if you're having readability problems, let me know where below. I may be able to tweak it a bit to make it more readable. If you run into any other problems, leave a comment on this thread. I'll be watching this thread closely. Thank you all for being so patient.
  21. Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy it here.
  22. Yes, they are special. Sometimes not in quite the way we hoped. My grandson turns three tomorrow.
  23. Very nice! It's amazing what superlative finish work will do for a simple kit like that.
  24. There's a bunch of stuff he could do, even beyond the forums. What was his classwork like, and what requirements would we need to fill?
