  1. Ismael, I’m glad you’re safe and sound. It will be good to have you back on the board when it becomes feasible. Good luck with recovery.
  2. Ambroid liquid glue works well for me. Brush is over the removed trim and watch it reappear again. Might take a couple of go-rounds to get it really gone.
  3. That’s an odd attitude to have since there is a long tradition of embedding little jokes in layouts. The legendary Gorre and Daphaeted railroad had, among other things, a man in a tuxedo shoveling coal.
  4. Cool. Thanks for posting it.
  5. It’s taken a while, but I’m finally starting to just enjoy the process. I used to get frustrated at body prep and painting. Now I’m just letting events come to me, and not placing any particular expectations on them. Not only has my building improved, but I enjoy it more. My teacher says I’m learning mindfulness.
  6. That’s interesting. The TF was always my favorite T-series MG.
  7. Bill, you disappoint me. It should be obvious but, humor is much better when other people think it’s funny too. That wasn’t funny. Maybe you should get to know some transgender people? And you’re right. If you’d mentioned athelete’s foot, it simply would have been tasteless. Gender reassignment surgery is a sensitive subject. It’s unfortunate that you don’t understand that. And yes, I can speak from familiarity here. Much to my own surprise, I know two transgender people. Bringing in stuff from other contexts does little more than fuel someone’s sense of outrage without actually providing relevant information. Nobody’s getting charged with anything. But, if you really can’t abide by the guidelines we set down, you’re welcome to go elsewhere. You don’t pay for the servers or software maintenance. I expect you to follow the guidelines. If someone is attacking you in a posting, report it. I don’t recall seeing any reports from you regarding that, though I could have easily missed them. Thanks for bringing the original post to my attention. I intended to hide it, but apparently forgot.
  8. One of the few regrets in my life is selling my 1962 MGA. I haven’t been able to find another one at a price I could afford.
  9. It’s one thing if it’s for display. Quite another if it’s a contest. I don’t know about elsewhere, but around here every contest has a rule that entries must be the work of the person listed as the builder. Representing someone else’s work as your own will get you banned.
  10. Nice. I built one of those too. Nowhere near as well as you did.
  11. Great story. I’ve never heard this before. Dan Gurney was one of my childhood heroes. My inner kids is shouting, “way to go Dan!”
  12. My models from my years before high school are all gone. My niece and nephew destroyed them all including one contest winner. Some of my post college models remain, but many were casualties of moves. I miss my 1/32 F4 Phantom. I expect my current builds to survive at least a little past my demise.
  13. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?
  14. I know that feeling. I finished a long stalled project a few months back, and while I was gratified at the result, it was almost anticlimactic.
  15. There should be a drop down arrow on the not now. Click it and select never. You won’t get the pop up again.
  16. Blu Tack fits that bill too and has about a bazillion other uses on the hobby table.
  17. I have two airbrushes; a Paasche VL, and a Grex double action gravity feed. Many years ago, my friend loaned me his VL. I like its versatility. I use it for bodies and large parts. If I’m painting small stuff, I use the Grex. It’s easy to load and clean. But, 0.3 mm is its largest nozzle. The VL goes up to 0.5 mm. I think if I were getting one now, I’d get a Paasche Talon.
  18. City naming in the Detroit area is a mess. So far as the post office is concerned, it’s all Detroit. However, there are numerous “vanity cities” and don’t you dare list the customer’s address as Detroit. Baseline might well be one of those vanity cities.
  19. Someone was wondering if I get paid for this. I don’t. I do it because you people do good things and this world needs that. Unfortunately, I’m having health issues of my own and that’s put us way behind on under the hood maintenance. I’m hoping I can get on the road to recovery soon. I appreciate everyone’s patience.
  20. I assume you’re wet sanding? You need a little give under the sand paper. I use a Staedler Mars radiergummi for most of my sanding needs. I keep thinking that one of these days, I’m going to sit down and design some proper sanding blocks for model cars, then, sanity returns.
  21. Wow. That’s awesome.
  22. We’ve been struggling with this issue for a while. I think I have a way to get the necessary diagnostic data, but I’ve been in the hospital twice in the last month or so, and need to get better before I can tackle that problem and a few others. I will get to it, but I cannot right now.
  23. We cruised through the Encinitas car show yesterday. I was driving, so wasn't taking photos, but lots of interesting cars, both foreign and domestic. I recommend this event to anyone in the area. It's the third Thursday of the month between May and September.
