E.R. visit due to modeling mishap
Romell R replied to samm1970's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Im just wondering how the blade got to your leg? Were you cutting the rod on top of your leg? Most important did you learn a lesson from this whole experiance. We are like soft butter when the skin comes in contact with an exacto. I have cut my self open many times as a kid but nothing serious enough to warrent a ER visit. I know you probably know this but im gonna state it for the benifit of newer ones to our hobby. 1. Always cut away from your body. 2. Never use alot of pressure to cut, These blades are thin and they will break which can lead to a nasty cut 3. And never ever cut something on your lap, always use a table or work bench. You were fortunate because there is an artery in your leg that if you would have cut it open you would have bled out in 3 mins. Never cut in your lap! -
HAHA I bet you thought the saga was over well its not welcome to part II "The Build Of Big Brother. The whole reason for the original Chevelle build was to use it as a design tool for the 1:1 so now if you dont mind I'd like to introduce you to "FaultLine" The Big Brother of Aftashox...... I brought him home from the body shop and got busy putting him together heres the start of the rollcage installation, First sections of the floor had to be cut away to allow access to the frame. A true rollcage should be welded to the frame and not the body as most do. Im a true HotRodder so it has to be right. I satrt by cutting 7'inch square patch from behund where the seats will be... now I have access to the frame where the main hoop will be welded heres the main hoop , its about 5 1/2 inches too tall so i'll cut that off.... Wala main hoop in place and ready for welding lots more ahead stay tuned...

I am a man of exacting detail I treat every part of my builds as a build within the build. The dedication has been with me all my life and I have always reached out to better my skills in model building. The tools are a big part of building, "the right tool for the job" is a quote i remember my grand dad telling as a kid. I may not know how to use the tools suggested but it never stops me from learning how to use them. please feel free to check any of my builds my friend and you will see that my dedication does not lack in the per build area. So yes Dave I would like some suggestion from you as to which direction I should travel in serch of proper tools to up my skills to the next level. Lets just assume cost is not an issue. Thx for your reply GrandpaMcGurk and talk to ya soon. Romell

Hey fellas earlyer I posted a thread that didnt come across the way I intended it to. So I am apologizing to all of you whom i may have offened in the course of my posting it. As I stated I love the atmosphere and the people of the NNL's and thats really what its all about. If you guys can find the space within to forgive me please do. I really didnt mean to offend but I guess some were. Sometimes my opinions can be strong! And being the writer that I am I feel moved at times to put my opinions to text at times. Romell

I think it looks great , you should finish it the way it is. it'd be like a cream white or off white color. good job on it by-the-way.

1st let me say good job so far....2nd I like to add to coolplastics comment by saying. try using Micro Sol for the black decals it softens decals so they conform to extreme contours. keep up the good work and hopefully this will work for you.
