  1. Thx for all the great compliments fellas you touch me to the core.
  2. this looks to be a really nice project.... Im gonna add my $0.02 cause you asked for it. I would use the stright 8 but add a modern twist to it. add a fuel injection system and mondern headers two sets so you can run duel exhaust pipes. Id go as far as scratchin up a supercharger or twin turbo with the intercooler right behind the radiator. Can be done! heck if you dont do it maybe I will....LOL! Just my thoughts on the subject. Have fun and cant wait to see what you do with it. Romell

  13. This is a 1974 mustang II I know because it was my very first car my mom gave it to me when I turned 16 she purchased it new off the showroom floor and we had it untill I trashed it a year after I took ownership. Anyway nuff said about me....your off to a great start and I cant wait to see what you do with it. I'd keep the hood cause it makes it look mean other than that do your thang my friend.
  14. Wow Jim great job on that paint! looks really familiar just cant seem to put my finger on it LOL! I do agree with the others about the wheel choice though. I do have some of the California Wheels that came with my chevelle if you want them there yours, just let me know and I'll get em in the mail to ya. Keep up the outstanding work my friend. Romell
  15. I believe that qualifies as a scratch build Steve (looks great by the way) and I dont think he was refering to you Shucky as we can clearly see you scratched yours out too great job you two!!!
  16. Ive learned that if you put anything on top of Alclad it will turn it black or dull it. You may be able to use Pledge Future Im not sure as I havent tried it yet, but I was planing on it soon. as far as sending your parts out theres really no need to do that. I use Alclad to redo intire bumpers, crome trim, and small parts as well every chrome piece on my Chevelle build is Alclad. Just remember to lightly mist your parts dont do a full on spray and you'll get the chrome look your looking for. If you over spray you'll end up with a silver paint job. The trick to using Alclad is knowing when to stop, which is as soon as you see it start to look reflective. Also the bottle will tell you to let the black dry over nite, But I have gotten better results letting the black dry just 15-30 mins then I spray the chrome and then let it dry over nite. I hope this helps you. Romell

  21. Ive been building for close to 38 years and I have less than 30 models unbuilt most are parts kits, a few are in-line for building and those that I dont have plans for I will sell or give away. You see im a builder not a collector, I believe an unbuilt model is just a box of plastic collecting dust. The real value is in the creation of the art that comes from those plastic parts. So I dont collect a bunch of models just to say "oh I have that one" no when I want it I'll find it somewhere then it will get built, I dont care how old or rare it is,if i buy it im building it!
  22. Extraordinary!!!!!
  23. Brain you must be driving your mobile moonshine facility again LOL! J/K great job on this one Danno ol boy. Im gonna be working on a CHP charger with working flashers
  24. Thanks Niko For your most sincere comment about my build, And thx to the rest of the gang for hanging out with me as I built this. I hope you join me for the next wild ride.
  25. Hey just want to add my two cents here, youre going about making that exhaust the hard way if you want to make it metal just use solder which can be found at you LHS, RadioShak, Walmart etc.... You see the solder bends really well and once you have the shape you want you can even polish it. heres a link to the headers I made for my chevelle build just scroll down the page a bit. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31030&st=60
