  1. I can live with triple twos.... Or add one of Ken Kitchen's BEAUTIFUL Olds Big Sixes and Tom Coolidge's nice fastback body and make a nice granny-car out of it.* *Also a nice Charlie-car, as I'd actually be quite happy driving a 76 fastback with Hyrda-Matic. I suppose that would make it a nice Grandpa-in-Training car? Charlie Larkin
  2. Those colors look right at home on that. Charlie Larkin
  3. Hits the W-cubed factor (wild, weird, wondrous). And very nicely-done, too. Charlie Larkin
  4. Most interesting; I would suppose that UPS uses those overseas, as in the U.S., they have their own custom-built trucks, I believe by Grumman. Charlie Larkin
  5. Nice paint job. Keep 'em coming. Charlie Larkin
  6. Yep, you're addicted. Plastic works its wonders again. Charlie Larkin
  7. Good to see you back in the saddle, Matt. I miss our occasional conversations in chat. Be safe out there, and if you should find yourself heading towards New England, try to give me a head's-up and I'll see what I can do to meet up for lunch, coffee, dinner, whatever. Charlie Larkin
  8. I had relatives like that.... Thank God they're gone now, as they applied a similar mentality to everything! Charlie Larkin
  9. If everything goes to plan, a full-detail 1/25 kit will cost at least that. As a safe bet, figure $45-60k for a mold, depending on the material and complexity of it. You might be able to do the molds for a little less if you use silica aluminium, which is much easier to machine and wear almost as well as steel molds, but are much easier to damage, which is why you don't see them very often. The rest of it will be product design and development. Licenses, legal fees, package design and other assorted meadow muffins will add about another $10-12K in upfront costs. Charlie Larkin
  10. Welcome, Amanda. It's nice to have a lady with us. Most of the men here usually behave themselves! Please share your pictures, your ideas and your questions. Looking forward to your participation. Charlie Larkin
  11. 1. Great tip for the dash; I always had a problem with that on these tips. 2. Love the steering wheel. When you say you used an ink pen for the rim, specifically what part did you use and from what type of pen? I liked the shift/column, too. 3. The idea for that tuck-and-roll sheet is brilliant! Beautifully done overall. I really like what I'm seeing here. Charlie Larkin
  12. I like the paint/decal work and the headlights are a nice touch. Great job. Charlie Larkin
  13. Those are wild enough stock, and you're customizing!? Seriously, those look nice as a more traditional custom. The Modelhaus has your taillights. Charlie Larkin
  14. Almost. The larger-displacement engines have a slightly higher deck height to accommodate the longer stroke. That's why if you look at the intakes, they're slightly different. Charlie larkin
  15. Not exactly my style, but very nicely-done. The colors work well together and the overall execution is good. Charlie Larkin
  16. Simple excellence. There is no other word in existence or necessary to describe your workmanship. Charlie Larkin
  17. Very nice. We could get spoiled looking at your stuff. Charlie Larkin
  18. What Harry said. Absolutely remarkable, especially considering the rather limited information you're working with. Charlie Larkin
  19. Very interesting history and a beautiful model. Nice-looking rig, too. Those look like that can do a day's work, that's for sure. Charlie Larkin
  20. I aim to please... I have that one as the call-tone for my parents when they call my mobile phone, usually because it's some over-dramatic false alarm. This is for when the ex calls, because more often than not, it involves a bailout of some kind... http://www.phonezoo.com/ringtone/173711954/squad-51-standby-for-response.htm Charlie Larkin
  21. I'll take at least one of each, depending on what specifically gets done. I love independents. Well...no reissues= no money= no way to fix tooling, so, those I can forgive. It's a devil sometimes- you have to make money with what you have to fix what you have so you can do the job right. I have to say, I agree with your assessment of Trumpeter, although I'm toying with grabbing one of the '63 Novas, if for no other reason, to get a copy of that gorgeous modern 6. The coupe is actually supposed to be pretty decent looking when it's together, too. Charlie Larkin
  22. Very cool; I think I have one of those someplace. I know I have the "Models of Yesteryear" diecast. Those 1/32 Matchbox kits had some interesting subjects. I wouldn't mind grabbing a few of them. Charlie Larkin
  23. If you haven't yet, take a look at Greg's work. Very nicely-done. Charlie Larkin
