  1. To clarify, this is a Hemi-only kit? I think the inclusion of the V6 (which I guess quite a few departments use) would've been neat, an allowed for building a more realistic unmarked and some civilian cars. As to lack of weapons- I wouldn't be suprised if some group of moonbats, or quite possibly, the firearm manufacturers, and, again, quite possibly under pressure from said moonbats, forbade their inclusion, as models are "children's toys" after all, dontcha know? Looks like a nice kit. I may pick one up and do a Mass. State Police car. Charlie Larkin
  2. I thought all the hot air in 3 000 posts was the sailboat fuel! Charlie Larkin
  3. Fantastic. The shot with the two cars in there really made it. Very nice work. Charlie Larkin
  4. Wow! Not only an understanding wife, but all I can say is... duplicate her for the rest of us! Charlie Larkin
  5. Absolutely perfect. Very nicely-done, Carl. Charlie Larkin
  6. Coming out very nicely, Mike. I like that vintage full-size Chevy. And they look very nice in blue. Charlie Larkin
  7. The stuff 3-M sells that's about the same color as the Tamiya tape also works very nicely, and is much less expensive. Charlie Larkin
  8. Nice job, Curtis. The white/yellow looks nice on that, too, and you're doing a good job with the figures. Charlie Larkin
  9. Especially if I can get the rest of the Terreplane to go with it and I can build it stock. Charlie Larkin
  10. Take a look at the Photobucket album for this thing. It's impressive. If I have $180 to spend on one single model, I'd get this in a second. Charlie Larkin
  11. Very nice, Jeff. I hope this sells well for you. Be sure to have a few with you at MassCar, and be ready to take orders for extra. Charlie Larkin
  12. Nice-looking rig. And nice detailing, too. Welcome aboard. Charlie Larkin
  13. Nice build, I like the color. Charlie Larkin
  14. Cool to see a few Edsels coming down the line. I'll enjoy watching this. Charlie Larkin
  15. Astounding. Simply astounding. Charlie Larkin
  16. While I can't argue with the basic, tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek truth, I think what's been said is what needs to be said. 1. A desire to learn, some pre-requisette knowledge helps, but isn't necessary, especially when the first condition is attached. 2. A stock of some basic tools and finishing supplies. 3. A willingness to be patient and occasionally look at things sideways. 4. A determination to not be outsmarted by plastic. Charlie Larkin
  17. I use cheap dish-soap (the only kind we buy, but good cheap, like Ajax,) and let all parts soak in lukewarm water overnight in a covered container (like a Gladware/Ziplock container,) swish them around to the agitate the soap, drain, and rinse VERY thoroughly, and then let the parts air-dry. I suspect you have mold release on the parts. Also, I stick to Plasti-Kote primer almost exclusively. I find i have the fewest problems with that as an undercoat. Make sure it's the sandable primer you can get at CarQuest, and perhaps some other outlets. Charlie Larkin
  18. I'd let my friends take whatever is of interest to them (cars, trains, and non-modeling items, like my baseball cards and stamps,) and request that the rest be sold by MassCar, and that the proceeds be split evenly by the club and the Scottish Rite Learning Center (great charity, by the way- (see Scottish Rite Learning Center for more information.) 19. Cool. Enjoy. Charlie Larkin
  20. That lower part of the orange Olds looks like they blended in Olds doors and fenders onto a Ford. That gives me an idea...... This is the part where you all need to duck and hide. Charlie Larkin
  21. I like it, Nick. That blue looks good on it. Charlie Larkin
  22. Very nice. That bright blue looks good on those, especially with the black top and trim. Charlie Larkin
  23. I was going to go, but money changed my mind. I was looking forward to a couple of days of warm weather and a change of scenery. Looks like from that weather report, I wouldn't have gotten that either. Oh well, maybe next year. Charlie Larkin
  24. I simply don't know what else to say... Charlie Larkin
