  1. I'll cancel the Black Widow order. Good thing I saw this. Charlie Larkin
  2. That Enterprise will be a good seller. I'll probably grab a Starliner. Might go for one of those Camaros. Charlie Larkin
  3. A 1/12 500? So it'll be big enough to see what you're building? Cool. Charlie Larkin
  4. That's coming out beautifully. If you make a 2-bbl intake for this, put me down for at least 2-3 of these. Charlie Larkin
  5. So, the $260 T in 1926 was that day's Escort Pony/Chevette Scooter/Omni-Horizon Miser? Interesting. I figured it was so cheap because all the costs had been amortorized so thoroughly that it cost next to nothing to make the car- didn't realize it took out the electric starter. Yuck. What is meant by non-demountable tires? I would imagine that they could be changed when worn or damaged? Charlie Larkin
  6. The Collings Foundation has a really pretty one, too. What I'll call French Grey with red seats and pinstripes. I'm thinking of doing mine like that. Charlie Larkin
  7. Second on Super Clean. Acetone will melt your plastic, and the use of heat? Very, very bad idea for a number of reasons. I agree with the others, cut out the UPC and send it off. For Revell's faults, they do generally have very good customer service, and will handle your needs quickly. Charlie Larkin
  8. I'm at a loss for other words. Charlie Larkin
  9. These are a lovely kit. And a beautiful car. Mine is going to be dark blue with tan interior and top. Charlie Larkin
  10. They have the G4 in 1/24? I'll have to look at the wholesale listings again. That's one I'd like to have on the shelf. Funny thing I've noticed about both Squadron and Stevens (and a couple of smaller distributors) is that none of them ever have the entire ICM catalog available at any time. You really have to piecemeal it to try and get everything. Same for Airfix and a couple of other European manufacturers in the U.S. Charlie Larkin
  11. Does anyone have a picture of the roof with the offending sink-marks? Charlie Larkin
  12. I usually have a rather strong dislike for black and blue, but the tones work well in this case. Charlie Larkin
  13. I'd like to know who their wholesaler is! That's less than my store can buy the kits for! The delivery truck will be cool, as will the firemen. I can honestly say ICM's figures are a treat. Very, very nicely done. Charlie Larkin
  14. I was planning on doing mine in Argyle Blue, and I think you might have changed my mind. That looks very nice in black. Charlie Larkin
  15. If you guys have the passwords you need, I know a fellow who might be able to help you out- fellow modeler (although planes and armour, mostly,) but a nice guy. He does as much as Paul allows him to with the store website (which is about fifteen years out of date and Paul WILL NOT bring it to 2010,) but he gets the job done. If you want to get in touch with him, I can arrange it. Charlie Larkin
  16. Right now, barring a buyout from a a few casters, if anyone can truly succeed The Modelhaus, Paul Hettick would be at the top of the list. Charlie Larkin
  17. Ironically, white with black carpet/dash would've been a factory-correct choice. Charlie Larkin
  18. My point exactly. We're not even going to bother stocking those because the prices are going to be absolutely ridiculous. We'll stock RVG's unique products, but something like this is beyond dumb. It's simply a pig move by Hobbico (i.e., Jim Kramer's "bears make money, bulls make money, pigs get slaughtered," quote,) and I think it'll grenade on them. Charlie Larkin
  19. If they do this as a bone-stock street car with racing options, it'll be a good seller. As a strict racer, I don't think it'll move too well. And yes, if they did a 245, I'd buy at least one of them. Charlie Larkin
  20. You won't be sorry, I can promise you that. I'll be curious to know what you thought of it. Charlie Larkin
  21. About the only thing I can pick out is the interior should be "saddle," not "fawn." Saddle is pretty easily represented using Humbrol gloss tan, with a semi-gloss or flat clear, as appropriate. Those Molotow markers look like the answer for those hash lines aft of the wheels. I just got one, and I'm looking forward to trying it on a few things. Very nice build, overall. Charlie Larkin
  22. The color looks a lot like 1966 Barrier Blue. Not too bad looking on that big car. For such a long hiatus, you did a very credible job. Charlie Larkin
  23. Even without the roof corrections, that car looks good. And this is a beautiful build. The color looks very nice on it- very much like 1966-'67 Emberglow. Very nice job, Chuck. I really like this one. Charlie Larkin
  24. Without question, this is one of the finest movies I've ever seen. If John Goodman and Mark Wahlberg don't get at least 2-3 Oscars for this cinematic achievement, then we can be certain the Oscar voting system is a failure. I remember this day very well, nearly being trapped in Boston after the bombings at a Graduate class. Returning to my car, parked in Jamaica Plain, was a very interesting, and trying, evening, with the buses and Green Line both shut down. What's even scarier is thinking that had my class started an hour later, I might well have been on an E-line Green Line car, passing under Boylston Street as those bombs went off. Let this movie leave no doubt in your mind- that was a very scary week in Greater Boston, and I found myself more thankful than usual that I don't live in, or too close to, the city. This movie is gritty- and it's a little tough to watch at certain points. The language is abhorrently bad (although it most certainly adds to the reality,) and some of the camera work, while done skillfully, can be a bit dizzying, but it is designed that way to capture the feeling of the whirlwind. The plot, firmly rooted in reality, with a little extra thrown in, is incredible. The movie is NOT for little eyes or ears. This movie brought back a rush of feelings- of fear, helplessness, and yes, anger, that Flashbang and Speedbump, two useless dregs, could still create the havoc they did, and how they were taken out like the cowards they were/are. Bottom line: this one is absolutely worth the price of admission.
  25. Nice interior work. That's a rather sharp scheme, too. Charlie Larkin
