Light Chestnut. Sounds like a car I'd drive very happily. Charlie Larkin

The Wildcat is very nice. I have one. Use the '66 for the interior and running gear. The '66 kit actually has the '65 interior. One of my plans is to build a corrected '66 interior. Kevin doesn't always update his site, check on Facebook (I believe it's set to public so anyone can see it,) or contact him directly. He'll set you up. Charlie Larkin

Very nice work, Tom. Charlie Larkin

Largest garage diorama I've done....WIP !

Nice work. Your scratchbuilt tools are very nice. Charlie Larkin -
Another great model, Brad. Charlie Larkin

Very nice job. Incredibly realistic-looking. Seeing an American car with Russian buildings in the background is a bit surreal, especially a car from the height of the Cold War. Charlie Larkin

I have a problem...
charlie8575 replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have one that needs a couple of things reglued, not a big deal, and one that needs a little foil touched up. Repairs are one thing, redos, at least for now, are entirely another. When it's finished, it's finished. Charlie Larkin -
I'd like to see those, too, and I'd buy at least one of all of them. Charlie Larkin

Ray- looks good, and it's nice to see the B scheme being done. Charlie Larkin

From what I remember reading on a board long, long ago, this has the older-style block with newer-style heads and top-end. From what I've been led to believe, the Javelin has the newer engine, but I'm not entirely sure. There was a fellow posting who was VERY knowledgeable about AMCs, but he died a short time after I got to know him. Went by the handle Mr.AMC, I think. I remember he lived in the NYC Metro area. Oh? I remember my mother's first '86 was Dark Claret, code 81. Nice color; that dark maroon that never had a real high gloss, but looked good. Not to be confused with Medium Red code 71. The Claret interior was on her second '86. Testors Dark Red with varying treatments of semi-gloss and flat would get you in the ballpark. You might want to add a drop of black to add a little depth to the color. I've always seen the interior called dark claret, at least on the Supreme. I seem to remember Dark Maple Red being the Ciera interior. Charlie Larkin

Last June, The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, A.F.&A.M., re-enacted, as closely as possible, the cornerstone ceremony for the Massachusetts State House. The Grand Master was called upon to perform a traditional stonemasons' ceremony commemorating the laying of the cornerstone and the burial of the time capsule. I had the distinct pleasure of taking part in that procession from Grand Lodge at the Corner of Tremont and Boylston Streets up Boston Common to Beacon/Park/Tremont St. triangle, where the current State House (built 1798) is located. I even got the self-photo feature on my phone to work. I was standing on the State House lawn when I took this. This was a couple of months later at my 40th, talking with a very good friend of mine from high school and his wife. Charlie Larkin

You're definitely off to a good start. That blue is very sharp. Charlie Larkin

Harry uses a Mac from what I understand- could that be an issue? My pictures look great and I have a bargain-basement laptop with a 15" monitor. This is a gorgeous car. The 1965-'66 Chryslers are one of my favorite designs of the 1960s. Great job! Charlie Larkin

That looks very good. Thinking Lyon Blue for mine. Charlie Larkin

1965 Plymouth Fury. Update, 7/27, WHEW!

I was poking around for one of these- OUCH! Not cheap at all! It'll look good when you're done with it, though. No questions there. Charlie Larkin -
One thing about Scale Finishes.... Jameston does have a regular job as well, and he ends up with a lot of overtime if it gets busy, and it's mandatory. He will get back to you. I can tell you- as I have a bottle of Horizon Blue for one of my Edsels, that there's nothing close in the hobby shop paint aisle. Order it from ScaleFinishes or MCW. Colonial White is the proper white for the Ford-based cars, and it's very much a cream-white. Again, nothing good in the hobby shop. Hobby shop colors will make this go from great to generic. Testors yellow will get you pretty close to the engine color. You might want to darken it a little with a toothpick covered in black; that will bleed off enough to darken it up a smidge. Great news, and definitely one of the best fields to be in for probably her entire work life. Best wishes to her. Charlie Larkin

That's brilliant. Mind if I borrow that? Charlie Larkin

The nose does look a tad long, but I'm also wondering if the camera angle might be doing it. I can see the slight rake in the header unit; it's barely noticeable on the real car, as well. I will agree that lower crease is a smidge high. It still looks very good overall, though. About the only complaints I have are the missing filler tube and that they molded the grilles as part of the nose, which is going to be a real PITA to alter or chrome if someone decides to do another model of Cutlass. Charlie Larkin
-
Hopefully separately-molded grilles, too. If you were to build a Calais (the most easily-replicated model with what's in the box,) the chromed grille with black and dark argent accents will be a pain with it molded to the shovel-nose like that. Charlie Larkin

Amazing model car collection
charlie8575 replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They mentioned engineer. Many engineering jobs pay exceptionally well, and even if they're just "okay," many places have low enough living costs that such a collection is possible. My parents would swear I was working on it in all aspects. Charlie Larkin
