  3. that's awesome to hear. I like this kit as well...in case you couldn't tell. This was my 3rd merc to build and I have 2 more in the stash. The beauty of this kit is that it almost falls together
  4. looks good, stu. I like the 2 tone combo and the interior. nice job, sir
  5. And congratulations to all of the winners. This was, as usual, a great show to attend. The MAGS guys do an awesome job. If i remember correctly, they said 39 modelers entered 203 models. The juniors section was very impressive this year.
  6. you're welcome val and neal. patw - there was a lot more 1:1 cars, but my knees and back weren't cooperating enough to go get more pictures.

  14. thanks bill and scott
  15. everyone else, thanks so much. Doc, I'll try and put a "how to" together next week. I'm trying to get one more model done for a contest this weekend. I don't see it happening, but I'm going to try.
  16. fixed it. I didn't even notice. haha
  17. That wagon is awesome! And where did you get the little bicycles for the "homies"?
  18. thanks guys. several hours were spent wet sanding the primer, base coat, and pretty much every step along the way. And believe it or not, I did not polish this out.
  19. thanks david and luis
  20. thanks guys. i wish the flake would show up better in pictures...maybe i'll get some shots outside
  21. i really like the wheels. for the center cap decal, why not try a dab of clear epoxy over it?
  22. looks good, jim. might want to re-aim the headlights...unless you're trying to spot owls in the trees.
  23. thanks everyone for the killer comments. I really do like this kit. it almost falls together...and there's plenty of real estate for my zaniness
  24. enjoy! and comments/critiques are always welcome
  25. Here is another 49 merc from me. I started this one a few months ago and I'm actually happy with how it turned out. There are a few slight mods/alterations to this one. mods: removed "b" pillar, rain gutter, upper door frame, molded/smoothed the rear fender skirts, parts box wheels, dual frenched atennae, full aluminum exhaust and mufflers (scratch built from manifolds back), added "porthole" vents on the hood, 12 volt battery (parts box), carb linkage, fatkidd wired distributor, detail masters battery terminals, crazyjim caddy tail lights, scale dreams battery cables, silver thread used for "piping" on the seats, grey flocking, fuel lines Interior: custom mixed 2 tone purple Exterior: H.O.K. Black base coat with H.O.K. Passion Purple Pearl and Blue/purple holographic micro flake was dusted over the whole car (hard to pick up in photographs). Enough of me babbling...on with the pics.
