Ha! Yes, George, maybe EYEGORE is going around impersonating Doctor Cranky!
Actually, I just sprayed the base coat on this vehicle, a mixture of HOK Orion Silver and Zennith Gold . . . and some intercoat clear for the taping coming up . . . stay tuned in for pics . . .
Thanks, everyone. Those of you who've never tried a rusty weathered job like this, you should. It will give you a nice break from spraying glossy mavens! LOL.
Oh man, I can't remember where the scale chain came from . . . I want to say Walther's and/or Micro Mark, and yes, it's perfect for truck beds like this.
LOL, Sean . . . oh man, I don't know, I probably have about 60 models finished, and about 100 in different stages of "started" and another 300 in boxes!
One model at a time, that's what EYEGORE says!
Thanks, Roger. I've been wanting to build something like that too. I have another copy of this kit, so I'm sure I will get the bug to build another one very soon.
All right, this one is in the bag, as they say . . . I still have to find a whole bunch of stuff to clutter up the bed, but I'm taking a break to do a shiny paint job next . . . hope you enjoyed the journey with this one. Again, the MPC kit builds smooth and it's a subject matter that always gets the creative juices flowing . . . give one a try, you'll love it!
Final assembly is pretty smooth on this kit, but the interior tub is a little tricky going in, so you have to go very slow . . .
Real wood bed boards . . . nothing like it! Love these kinds of details on a clunker like this!
Thanks, Danno.
Here's some more progress. I started to weather the chassis . . . with AK-INTERACTIVE products, in this case adding a few drops of FUEL STAINS to the engine . . .
Tony, by the time I realized it it was too late, but you are right . . . actually the final results (as you will see shortly) didn't turn out that bad . . . stay tuned in.
Thanks for the good eyes!
