  1. Thanks for the kind words and support, my friend. Cheers, DC
  2. THANK YOU EVERYONE for the support and the helpful suggestions. It's always fun to build with so many of you looking over my shoulders. A special thanks to Donn Yost for helping out with some of the parts and for the technical assistance with the chassis. See you in the next build! Stay tuned in. Best, DC.
  3. Finally, the vision I settled on for this one is that his is a vehicle that is somewhat street legal and could be taken to the track on the weekends, replace the wheels, put on the parachute, wheelie bars, and you are good to run . . . I could have extended the exhaust so that it would be out more and not be likely to flood the cabin with smoke, but then again it's a convertible . . . Here are more pics:
  4. All, my friends, this one is done, and I got it done a day before schedule . . . which I am happy about. Enjoy these rounds of pics and let me know what you think. This will not be the last of these types of builds for me.
  5. Love it, stripes like that always reming me of barber shops and candy. Great looking model so far, please keep it going.
  6. Looking at a model like this is what CRANKS me up as a builder. The fact that it looks so different and it's obvious you (YOU!) the builder had so much fun. Great source of styrene addiction, my friend. Cheers, DC
  7. Looking real good indeed.
  8. LOL, thanks, Bill, and then instead of working in a styrene Lab-RAT-ory, they will put me in a "home" for those touched by styrene lunacy and other ailments. Seriously, I love them and plan on building a few more.
  9. I think for all practical purposes, both types of markets can be maintained and grown: the ones for the accuracy fanatics, and the one for everyone else. Snap Kits are for kids, sure, but Skill Level 3 kits are advanced builders and kit-bashing fanatics, etc . . . What I am saying is: It's all good, and there's room for all sorts of markets. If you have a smart company you try to grow regardless.
  10. Looking forward to seeing more progress, Brian, and welcome back to the hobby.
  11. Michael, that magazine article is a great find. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Clean and classy looking, that's all you need to build a sweet model like this one is. Love it.
  13. I like it, and I also like the comparo shots. Nice work.
  14. Ed, one can only dream, but I think the reality of it is that they are going to Chip-foose it only as much as they could. Tires, decals, and maybe that's about it. We'll see, but I am hoping that they will make a series out of it.
  15. I like this one quite a bit . . . the color, the engine details . . . it's a wonderful model.
  16. After a long day of progress, I am almost ready to declare this one finished. Tomorrow I will share the pictures . . . right now I just finished installing the seat belts (old fashion) and everything is good to go. Please stay tuned in for more pictures . . .
  17. Liking it so far. Looking forward to more.
  18. Roger, looking forward to your build. Scott, I can wait to see your model get some paint on.
  19. In Florida you can renew your car multiple years instead of the one, which is also great. Move on down to Florida, folks. The only thing to fear are the big gators and storms and a fella who goes by Jim who is always demanding to see shiny builds. LOL.
  20. If you are a good driver and you have a clean driving record, it should be like that, it should be one of the rewards, longer renewal periods.
  21. They've streamlined the process in Florida and the real test to get your license is how high over the edge of the car window you reach.
  22. Lucky you. Mine is coming up in 2019.
  23. Too often in fact I feel like I am not really looking for a replica, but for a canvas, a springboard that will spark up my imagination. I guess I am a kit basher at heart . . .
  24. Terry, that sound horrifying, and I am glad to hear there were no casualties. Helmets, for me, are a big deal. I never get on without mine. No way, no sir.
