So today I'm trying to get my Bullitt Mustang wrapped up for tomorrows meeting and I had a part go MIA on me!! I put the rear view mirror aside the other day because I wanted to BMF it and now I can't find it anywhere!!! I have moved everything on my work area and even had my son come in and look for it and it can't be found anywhere? Don't you just hated it when this happens as I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. Now I'm sitting trying to decide if I should go buy another kit to use the mirror from it and then see if Revell will send me a replacement part? Has anyone gotten them to replace lost parts?

Thanks, Dan But I said we are closing on that day not moving that day, so I'll let you know for sure what day your service will be needed. But I just had a thought that you could GIVE me that one kit as a house warming gift? LOL -
Another clear-coating question.

I didn't have any problem putting clear coat over my wheels After using a marker on them. -
2008 Bullitt Mustang wheels/ tail lights
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Ok I got the wheels done and I think they came out alright. But now I have another thing to ask about. The rear tail lights which are clear and need to be painted and I would think I should BMF the tail light houseing? So what would be the best paint to use to paint the tail lights? And here are some other photos of what I have done so far. -

This is something I'm going to be doing very soon as we just brought a house and close on the 9th of June and it's something I'm not looking forword to doing!! The move or packing up the models!! But it will be nice to not have to pay rent and I can really get to feel at home!!! -
Yeah I like that little detail you did there and I think I'll go back and do it to my Phoenix Police car. Looks good Nick, but building it in two days is really not taking your time..

Alright guys let me know what you think? Did I get them right and do you think I should put a claer coat on them? And these are what I used on the wheels, the top one for the lugnuts and the other one for the outer lip of the wheel. -

tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks for the replies guys!! I might try and paint the outer lip of the wheel aluminum and then use some liquid mask on it and then paint the Gunmetal on one wheel and see how it comes out. -

I'll get you a photo as soon as I can Nick, I've been out of town the last two day and I'm going to be kind of busy for a few days. -
I'm building the Bullitt Mustang and am having a problem trying to get the wheels painted. I stripped the chrome off and then air brushed them with Model Masters Gun Metal and tried to hand paint the Aluminum around the wheel lip, but it came out looking like it was hand painted!! For the Aluminum I used some Model Masters Aluminum enamel. Has anyone else found a better way of painting them to make the wheels look right? Thanks, Marty

tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Well don't try and tell Harry that because he said they are trucks and move it here, where it is for the most part about Big Rigs. But what do I know I'm just one of the little guys -

No because I have plans for them, one is getting the open road camper and the other one a racer's wedge. Sorry Marty -
Model truck kits
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah there is and it's way down at the list and seems to be mostly big rigs and not too many pickup trucks so way would it be moved way down there?? Then I guess you have a lot of posts to move there huh?? -
Ok so I thought I had already posted this, but when I looked for it I couldn't find it? Anyways I just picked up 2 more trucks kits and when I was putting them away I found that i had a lot of truck kits!! This is what I have for truck kits!!! Some 30 plus kits!! Does anyone else have this problem??

I got back into building model cars in Nov. 2008 when I was unpacking some boxes in my garage and found my models and I got the bug to start building again. I join a GREAT model car club here in Phoenix Moonlight Modelers thanks to Dan Baker's reply to me looking for a club here. Anyways the reason for this post was to show what kits I had when I got back into the hobby and what I now have and it hasn't been that long!! These are the kits that I unpacked. And this is what I now have. And I'm still adding to it!!!!!!!!!

Got more than $510 to blow on a kit?
tuffone20 replied to Terry Sumner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I emailed the seller to ask him if would send me a better photo of a decal sheet for the '67 Chevy tow truck because that is a kit I built as a kid and that I'm rebuilding it now and this is the reply I got back from him. we are totally against anything reproduction as it has hurt our hobby greatly . so I would not be able to do that Oh but with the photo he does have listed there, the guy that makes decals for me can work with it to make the decals for me anyways!!!
