  1. Have been working on this motor the last few days. First off I filled in the back side of the exhaust manifolds with some plastic sheet then shaped with files. I ended up redoing the coil covers they had too much going on for my taste, Ihad drilled out 9 holes for hold downs it just did not look right once I had them painted. the picture here is after I stripped the paint off.
  2. Looks like Bruce Waynes other car, does it come in black...
  3. Hello, I just wanted to know if anyone knows if any resin company can cast a body for me. I have the original but would like to make a few resin copies if possible , Thanks
  4. Ok I made some new pullies using whatever round platic I could find. Attached them to my lathe (aka my dremel) cut some belt grooves and cut to size. On the balancer I inserted the original pully into plastic tubing and then shaped to look like the others. Also I was not fond of the kit exhaust so I found some in the parts box that I liked. I did have to switch side of the exhaust outlets so they would point down.
  5. Small update, got to work on the engine over the last couple of days, Made a power steering pump and an alternator bracket. Also made a power steering reservoir on the front of the driver side coil cover. Also scribed some cylinder head lines on the block made exhaust manifold mounts and drilles holes for spark plugs. The power steering cap and the oil fill cap were made from some metal pins found in my parts box. I will make new pullies later. I am including pictures with an original engine for comparison. Thanks for looking..Also I want to thank II Brandon II for his offer of the corvette motor parts listed above, even though I did not need his parts (as of yet) its people like him that make this hobby unique. IF I can return the favor believe me I will. On to the pictures.
  6. I agree the first few photo would be great contenders for the "real or model" thread. An very nice build indeed.
  7. thanks for your offer Brandon, I may have to take you up on it if I can not do anything with this motor. Who ever design this must of had two many drinks that day. Also Brandon do the valve covers you have, do they have the igintion coils molded to them . John
  8. Thanks Bill. hope to finish this soon, but the way my luck is here lately it will probably be another year LOL
  9. Thanks Johnny1973
  10. hey thanks for your comments. I think the longer look better to, they blend in nicely with the new top
  11. now that I have completed the body mods, i will turn my attention to the engine, interior and chassis. I started work on the engine. I am trying to use the drivetrain out of the camaro It is a simple engine with little to no details, even the exhaust looks small compred to the engine block, oh well enough on the ranting. I first taped the engine to see what it would look like under the hood.I stripped all the chrome off the exhaust, covers and intake manifold. I then sectioned the covers and filed and cut what I hope looks like coil covers. I may end up finding another engine if I can not make this look better.
  12. looks better in blue than yellow, nice build
  13. nice start to a great build. any idea on what color you are going with.
  14. Got it sanded down and put a little primer on this. got a little more work to do to the door lines and they will be finished. So about the only thing I have not modified on this build are the headlights. Maybe that will be next.
  15. Ok did a little work today. I scribed some new door line and moved the door handle area back. I added a strip of plastic into the old door lines so it would not ghost on me after paint, then I put some putty on it, just waiting for it to dry.
  16. this is cool. a mid engine cadi, now why didnt I think of this.
  17. ok now everyone its time to be quiet the master is at work. lol. great start to another awesome build
  18. great looking build, like the mods you have done already keep up the good work
  19. this thing looks wicked.
  20. great looking start, do you have any more pictures..?
  21. Here is the car with the door line change, I will probably just make some new side glass (its easier to do.) Original Door line moved back
  22. Thanks Steven Zimmerman for your comments. when I first started this build I was going for the long and low look just too change the appearence of the chevelle, I really dont think I want to change the the shape of the side windows as of yet, but you never know. I took some pictures with the windows in place, and I will have too change the side glass to match up the door lines or visa versa. Let me know what you guys think?.
  23. Thanks d.k.v. I will be using the complete camaro drive line, but I may modify the intake slightly, but I do like your idea about the new zr1 engine.
