  1. I keep a few pieces of the old Revell and Monogram sprue. But not AMT or MPC, as it always seemed weaker. When a wheel spindle breaks off a kit, I simply drill out the old piece, and glue in a new one.
  2. What if the General had intelligence like K.I.T.T. Would it have made those jumps, or just slammed on the brakes and ejected the Duke boys for being stupid? Which brings up another what if... What if the General had ejector seats would they have t-topped a 69 Charger for that? Would it still have a Confederate flag on the roof? It goes on and on and ....
  3. With a sealed kit, too you never know what your getting. The one is open and you can atleast know what your getting. But 700.00 is ....
  4. Just tape off the WHOLE fender, with masking tape. Then decide where and how you want your hole. Draw your hole with a pencil, on the tape and see if it looks "right". If not try it again... and then trim the tape in the shape of the hole with a sharp knife. The tape left behind will act as a guide, so that you can scribe the hole out, using the back of the knife. Well... that's how I'd do it anyway.
  5. Wouldn't it be pertinent to take an unaltered diecast and the modified sortof a before and after just to show the amount of work done to finish it? Including the picture journal as well as a non- altered die-cast would allow ANY one to see the work done, and put all such comments to rest.
  6. I believe that it was Hobbico that killed this kit, after it bought Revell.
  7. There being sold on Ebay. I would assume the caster is Wendal from AF/X? Probably made from the rear spoiler of an SVO, or possibly cut from an old AAM body.
  8. I build models, because my wife told me if I didn't find something to do with my hands that didn't involve her she was going to ...KILL ME!!! ...And I believe her... (she gets mean when she's mad anuhoh.....
  9. Personally I prefered his second incarnation as Goldbug, but to each thier own.
  10. The softer plastic and axles through the engine blocks are why I never got into AMT kits.
  11. Been pondering this for awhile, so here's how we can do it... No the car does NOT need to turn into a robot, but it does need to be "more than meets the eye". NO previous builds permitted. Entry can be entered into more than one cbp. Pick your favorite Transformer, in name at least. Find a kit to build around that name/persona. It does not have to be a model of car, truck, or plane used for that robot previously! Since through the generations they all changed anyway. The hook is it has to have some special custom feature that is "More Then Meets The Eye" Working steering that did not come in the kit, opening doors, working lights, a functioning sunroof or side windows, what ever you can come up with!
  12. I finally got my hands on a "New" resin hatchback, that included a "factory" rear spoiler. So I thought I'd post it here, as well as the pics of an unaltered body "New" Resin LX Hatchbody. Head on: Side shot: From above: Above and behind:
  13. Is there an option for lifted, on a 4x4 chassis?
  14. it's a reliable resin body.
  15. Any ideas on how I fix this? The rear quarters appear to be pushed up... The right side appears pushed in.... the front fender pushed UP and in... The trunk lid bows down in the middle... And NO your eyes do NOT deceive you the body REALLY IS 3x thicker then it should be. Is it a lost cause? What would you guys do?
  16. The body was found to be too slab sided, but not only that it was NOT a full detail kit. It had an "engine plate" and I believe molded in exhaust? It was really more of a "curb side" kit, rather then a full detail kit. A "Promo Donk"?
  17. Nobody new has contacted me, no.
  18. Are the taillights molded as part of the body, Or did you make those? Do you have any WIP pics? Are you quite certain that he bought that from Modelhaus? I ask because after looking at it closer, it's definately not one of the newer LX bodies, from AF/X. I think that it might actually be one of the OLD AAM LX Bodies! As it appears to have the older side trim. And with the molded in rear spoiler ... I was unaware that Modelhaus repoped those though? Are they still making them, anyone know? (edit : Just shot them an Email to find out!) I'd LOVE to get my hands on one of those. Great build! Sweet car. Why white wheels on the model if the car has silver though?
  19. By the way if you check out the Fox Chassis CBP you'll find a couple more LX Mustangs in there. Once again Great work!
  20. Oooohh SHINY! Great attention to detail. It looks quite nice. That is NOT a Modelhaus body, though. That is an AF/X resin body. The nose gives it away. Got any pics of the rear spoiler? Did it come with the body or did you make it? I bought two of those and all I got was the Saleen spoiler. Still Got the 93 Cobra Body? Ya gonna use it? If Not I could. (LOL)
  21. If you can't get a replacement, for whatever reason you can try to "seal" the oil in with thin ca. I have had some success with this. Just coat the part with a couple of layers of thin ca.
  22. I really like where your going with this, I have been contemplating a custom project for myself but already have so many projects. I' ll be watching...
  23. Wow, and here I thought this thread would take off like gang busters.(LOL) Well, regardless...I did say that if you showed me yours I'd show you mine, soo... A project car, hmm? I see your project car, and I raise you 1 project car.
  24. WHAT!! NOT a member of WHAT?! Doesn't that border on BLASPHEMY! YOU KNOW that they're NOT a member of any online forum and you don't send them here whats wrong with TDR?? What do they have against Model Car Magazines forum ? Why does anyone even Buy parts from you ?? And yes I am only kidding.
