Patience grasshopper! ... I really like the plate behind the grille. I like your choice of colors, as well.
  4. Dave, you bring up good points, but I have addressed some of these issues already. First, there is a time limit on this build. It is 1 month, per builder. Second, shipping is to be done by USPS WITH Delivery confirmation, (UPS is acceptable as well as long as some kind of tracking is used.). If the build is hand delivered, participants MUST, BOTH get a receipt. This is to prevent the build from getting lost. Third, there are currently 9 builder's. I was hoping for 12. This means that there are 3 slots that are actually still open. I would be honored, if you would joinus. And Ictpacman I would be honored for you to join as well. 12 will be the limit, though as I do not want the build to drag on for more then a year. (It will, once shipping etc is calculated in, I am aware of this.) Now. You bring up a good point. I would like at least a general idea, of the overall build direction, before we start. I have PMed Gregg, to no avail. I would like for us to choose some style of build before we begin, and this is why I have not yet started. I would like for us to all be on the same page before we begin.
  5. I don't think there is a bad model. Some are just more challenging then others,(sometimes more challenging then they should be).
  6. When you get it, you get to help finish it. Does that help?

  8. Actually the 98 and 99 Monte Carlo and Lumina 's Z34's came factory with the 3.8. The mod is the supercharger, and etc.
  9. That 97 is AWESOME! I wish they made a kit of one, instead of just the promos. And they actually do or did have quite a following. Many got modded with supercharged 3.8's, or 3.4's. One even got a Northstar. Unfortunately the aftermarket companies don't make much for them. I have a '97 I have been driving since '99. It's seen better days, but it's still a great car.
  10. Here is where we are at: I have just heard back from Paul Canney. He has given his blessing for this project. <img src="http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I have P.M.ed Gregg, and I am waiting to hear back from him, as to his ideas and wishes for the project. In the mean time... Jameston, at Scalefinishes.com has been kind enough to help out with the project, by adding a page to his web site, it is currently under construction... I have stripped the re-builder, and here is how it now sits...
  11. I have sat by and watched this thread, for the entirety. And I feel I need to point out the facts that ... A: Spkgibson, you got your product. Very few resin products are "perfect". FIX IT! And be done with it. Because it sounds more like buyers remorse more then anything else. You paid 71 dollars for it (BOOHOO!?) would you be as upset if you had paid 50.00? 30.00? ? At least you received your product. Many others, did not. B: MANY of the people posting in this thread are in direct violation of the forums rules by NOT posting your real name either as your handle, or in your signature. Makes it hard for ANYONE(Well O.K. ME!) to care or believe what you have to say. And ... C: They have, and will continue to change the name. HOWEVER, you can get your money back, via paypal. IF, your item does not ship. Since Ebay now requires it's use... SPECIFICALLY for this reason. Did I miss anything?
  12. Simple, stylish, and beautiful!
  13. Very nice. Truly inspiring.
  14. Great job so far! Very Cool!
  15. I would be honored to add you to the builders list. Welcome aboard!! Please PM me with your area of interest. That will work out fine. Thanks.
  16. I have contacted Gregg, via PM to get his input on the build. Ponyxpress, I need to know what area of the build you would like to work on. You have a PM. Matt Leblanc, and TxRat, you also have PM's. We need some one that is willing to work on the interior. Also, since El Destructo has withdrawn, we have an opening if someone else would like to participate.
  17. Yes, I hope it is anyway.. However I have/had not heard from all the people, and of the few that I did hear from, one of those dropped out. I have stripped the 53. I have also purchased a new 54 Chevy panel. We have the option of using the new kit, or the "used" kit. I have heard from : Roadhawg El Destructo Inc 99GT Len Giesler El Destructo Inc no longer wishes to participate in the build. I'm very sorry to say. I wasn't going to do this, but I think that we could use a little direction, so here is what I would like the project to resemble once completed. Feel free to share other ideas.
  18. A tip I learned is to use incense sticks, to bend styrene. It's cheap, easy to find, and readily available. They provide a much lower heat then flames, which can help control your bends. They tend to give me a headache though, so i have to use them outside.
  19. I understand. I had to ask, though.
  20. A very nice product, but one question. Why not cast the headlights in clear resin, instead? Wouldn't it be easier to BMF the trim ring, then try to detail the chromed headlight?
  21. Cool project. I have one that needs to be re-built, around here somewhere. It was painted a sort of baby blue, as I recall.

    Sketch Pad Art

I have a request. How about some 53/54 Chevy sedan deliveries, to help with the forum build? That we are trying to get rolling?
  23. O.k. Sign up is over. For those that have signed up, please P.M. me, with 2 choices in areas of interest, so that I can get a mailing order figured out. IE : chassis or interior , engine/ paint , interior and body, etc. You don't have to be specific, I do not want to know your plans! For instance if you want to chop it just say body. If you want to add a tubbed frame say chassis. Also we still need a name for the project. Something like Parts box Shoe box, Junkyard Hawg, Salvaged Delivery, MCM Sedan Devilry Snowballs chance in MCM ... Suggestions? ( Please keep it clean!)
  24. I added a stripe, but forgot to add the pics. Just adding the missing pics, to the thread.
  25. One of the biggest problems I have is when police choose which laws to enforce. When I lived in Illinois the tow truck drivers NEVER used lights on the cars they were towing. In Illinois the law is that they are supposed to have aux. lights on ALL vehicles they are towing. It's not only stupid and LAZY, on the tow truck drivers side, it's also dangerous, as sometimes the angle and vehicle they tow blocks the lights on the truck at night.
