  1. For the oil pan, There is a 55 Ford Pick Up made By Monogram, in 1/24th scale. It has a Cobra oil pan, and valve covers. I'd take a pick, but I don't have a camera right now. Also if you do a web search, for scale calculators, (there are several out there) you can usually input your size, select your scale, and it will tell you what size needs to be. click here Hope this helps.
  2. Great work!! I'd like to try this, build sometime. However, in the one that I bought, the body was shattered.
  3. I have to agree. It's been my experience that most chrome silvers are an enamel paint regardless of brand.
  4. It sounds like you used incompatible paint. Are you sure they are all the same kind? Lacquer vs. Enamel?
  5. Give you suggestions?????? Heck, I'm thinking you should be giving me tips!! That is one GREAT looking build!!
  6. Try cardomain, or search restoration of ?? (place make& model here). It should return lots of pics. When I first saw this thread asking if it were possible to make a car shell I thought you were wanting to make an actual shell for a car. Like an armored shell ...thinking of the Batmobile Cocoon.
  7. I don't wish to speak ill of the dead, but...I don't understand how his death can be bigger news then Farrah's. She had twice the class that he had. I think that this must surely be a sign of the Apocalypse!! R.I.P. Farrah, you will be missed.
  8. Ya do know there is an edit, AND a preview function on this board , right?
  9. I wonder if the people that worked for Johan, that commandeered the molds for perceived compensation are proud of themselves? I also wonder why If Okey has the rights to Johans Molds, patents, etc why did he not sue the people that are holding his property hostage... The whole situation seems like a huge fiasco right from the start.
  10. You don't see many of the AMT version built for some reason? Nice job!!
  11. It was probably stolen by, or for a diecast collector. I would watch the diecast section of EBAY, as well as the model section, and slot car section. Also I would not rule out the possibility of someone putting a different body on the chassis, to claim as their own. They could be trying to sell it or display it that way as well. Are there any pics of the chassis without the body, that could help in I.D.ing it should they replace the body? I'm truly sorry that this has happened. I hope that it does turn up, and the jack@$$ that took it gets the beat down of his life!!
  12. I'd still rather have a Monogram, then any of the MPC/AMT versions, other then an original AMT annual. Has anyone tried to fit the exhaust from the new Nova to the Revell 69 Camaro?
  13. If your car is truly rare, then changing anything on it will destroy the value. If it's not rare, or you don't care about the value, why say it's rare? You would be better off buying a 302 car.

    My 1981 Z28

I for one think it looks GREAT!!
  15. I just moved to Sanford, still trying to find a decent shop, so...
  16. How many firewalls are you running? I had a similar problem, as it turned out I had been running multiple firewalls.
  17. Are you wanting to sell the whole collection at once? Have you tried Tom Carter @ Spotlight hobbies? Spotlight hobbies
  18. Foose did MUCH more then just add big wheels and a paint job. He also rebuilt or replaced the engine, and interior in most if not ALL the Overhaulin cars. He did this with DONATED parts. Now, I was NOT a fan of ALL the paint jobs, and if the owner could not afford to do it, how long will the car last? But I think that the man had talent. I liked the SMC show, but I did NOT like the fact that they filled the side marker lights on all the classics they did. Would I build a Foose inspired model, SURE!!! Send me some parts!!
  19. Seeing your kit makes me want to run out and buy one...but I probably won't. It would have been SOOO much better, had they done the X-11 instead. Then I'd already have at least one of these kits!!
  20. You forgot the Hardtop Motor city Muscle as well. Here is one built up. Ahh what the heck, here is another:
  21. You know, when I was young, I was always told cut toward you, as you have much greater control of the blade. As I have gotten older, I have been told always cut away from you. Is this a "new" policy, or was I trained wrong, during my formative years?
  22. Not just your thumb!! I had to get 8 stitches in my middle finger of my left hand. I still have the scar to prove it. $350.00 hospital bill for a 15.00 model car.
  23. Chris you are doing excellent work. I think that the problem is that many people see a subject, they are not interested in, and they do not bother to open the post. If they had, I am SURE they would have felt compelled to comment on the skill and craftsman ship that you are proudly displaying. Keep it up!!
  24. What I don't understand is WHY would the govnmnt, spend 32 billion dollars for a bailout, when there is only 6 billion people in the ENTIRE world? Give ALL AMERICANS, a $2500.00 tax refund, that would help pay off much of their credit cards. Which would help free up the credit market, which would help people get loans for new cars, or save their homes from foreclosure, which would help the housing market, which would...... .....
