  1. You better finish that Capri ! Mine's been stalled long enough for both of us. I have to say that I actually think the turbines look very nice when painted body color. They were however a real PITA to keep clean, if you did not have a set of decent quality brake pads. They were Very hard to clean the brake dust out of.
  2. This car is NOT going to be factory stock. This one is just a custom for fun. I guess it'll have to be considered a repaint. I'll save the factory stock stuff for when I build this one : No it was custom made.
  3. 93 Anniversary cars? 1993 was not an Anniversary year. There were no anniversary cars produced in 1993. While the turbines may have been used thru 93 they were NOT standard on the GT's, after 1991. There were only 2 steering wheels factory from 1987-1993 and those were either w/ or w/o air bags. Air bags became standard in 1990.
  4. With all the recent posts about Fox Mustangs, I felt inclined to pull this one out, and give it some time on the bench. .... While the Box claims it's a '92 Mustang GT , it does not contain the right steering wheel, or wheels for that year. This makes it an 87-89. It is kind of a shame that this kit does not include the correct "pony" wheels, as the "turbines" that it DOES come with are just plain HORRIBLE!! Talk about a mold needing work!! Anyway,... As you can see it has been customized, a little. Color is "Wild Strawberry Metallic" Hope to have it done very soon!!
  5. I have been meaning to do one of these for soo long. Keep us posted!!
  6. Lookin' good! Keep at it!
  7. Instead of a candle, use Ambroid Pro weld. I use round strip styrene, but you can use thin sprue. Soak in pro weld for 20- 30 seconds depending on thickness. It will tack it's self in place, (and to you if you are not careful). Coat it with CA, and then sand and fill with putty, sand and primer. Works great. I use this method, as I prefer NOT to use open flames whenever possible.
  8. D'oh!! As far as I know, he is still making decals. But maybe I am mistaken. I've been wrong sooo many times, before that I have lost track!!
  9. Brian, Getting New roof decals is as easy as 123. Just order them online from Keith Marks. He offers them in Black or White. But I bet he would probably do them in silver, if you ask. If you go with white, you may want 2 sets, to help with bleed through. HopeThisHelp'S!! Roadrunner decals.
  10. Noo!! Just get some new stripes!! Please?? Great build!
  11. Chop Shop resin Makes an LS front cover, BUT I am not sure it's what you are looking for or not, as it looks to be more like an 88. I have never seen the show, so I do not know what year you are looking to build. If you web search Monte Carlo LS Resin, you will come up with as much, or more then I could tell you. I have only seen the conversion, a few times. Here is a pic: You can purchase it through Scale dreams at Scale dreams
  12. Yes. Actually there are 2 masters. 1 Has the rear spoiler attached 1 does not. The master with the spoiler attached is a little better then the one without.
  13. Ya know: I watched a story in the news a few days ago, and a lady in a BMW SUV was getting food from a food pantry. The *^%$ actually had the gall to talk to the news crew, and she said that she had as much right as anyone to get free food. As times are hard on everyone. Seems to me if someone is driving around in a BMW SUV, THEY really don't have a money issue. THEY could trade it off for a Ford or Chevy, and have money to feed themselves for several months!! And if they can't or won't, then who's fault is that? Now that is something to be pi$$ed off about. To think that the charity and good will, that so many people donate, in these times of need goes to greedy ^@#$%& like that.... Well it's enough to make me want to set someones SUV on fire! (And it's NOT my own, as I don't own an SUV.)
  14. I tried Reliable Resin, but he said he has other plans. Anyone else interested in casting one? Or: Even has a couple custom hoods, that have never been produced in scale!! And of course the standard cowl hood, that everyone seems to have:
  15. If he glued the t tops made from window material in, instead of making them out of styrene, won't it craze like mad when he tries to paint it? It's been a long time, since I tried to paint a window, so I do not know.
  16. What you are doing, is interesting, don't get me wrong. BUT If you could have built it stock, as a tow vehicle, for a second that had been turned into a watercraft, NOW that WOULD have been REALLY out of this world!!
  17. What color is that?
  18. Happy Thanksgiving !
  19. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  20. You mention glue, but not tools. Such as a hobby knife, scissors, tweezers, sprue cutters (side cutters). Also Paint brushes, sandpaper, files etc. You'll need a basic tools required section.
  21. Looks great, but I don't think I would want my wife working on models too. The mere thought of my wife "organizing" my work area sends chills down my spine!!
  22. I understand, what you are trying to do here. And your finished product looks great. But why destroy the kit piece, to make it? If all you really need is the surround, can't that be made easyier, from strip styrene that has been bent and shaped? Just a thought.
  23. Thanks!! I'll give that a shot!
  24. The problem isn't that it's diecast, it's that it's 1/18th scale. I would prefer something in 1/24th or 1/25th scale.
