I have those in gold and silver and they are good for modern connections. But there is no substitute when it comes to builds of cars that are a bit older. Then, only the good fittings will do. I have the metal Detail Master and the Scale Motorsports resin ones as well. Those resin ones are also very nice and lots cheaper. Bob

Remember the first revell '55 CHEVY ?
Dragline replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I stand corrected. It was the 57 Chevy art that was TD's first. The two are quite similar in approach if nothing else. History is fun. Thanks Bob -
Looks KILLER Bill! Just what you needed to get back to building. I love it. Bob

As an aside, I believe that's one of Tom Daniels first ever box tops for the industry. Bob -
Build count for 2011
Dragline replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1 1/12 Revell GT500 2 2009 Revell Chalenger. Many more started. It's a winter thing for me as well Bob. -
For styling its was Juniors bike. JJ's bike looks like a friend of mine'. It's nearly unridable and he sold it off a few years ago. I agree with the Indian Larry comment. I have a Paucho rigid with a wide glide and my old 73 shovel in it with some Detroit Bro's stuff as well. It's been siting for a few years as I take care of other things before I get back to it but it will defeinitely have the Indian Larry vibe going. It's going to have a remote oil filter and already has a mag. I was actually thinking of doing left hand throttle, left hand jockey with a floor clutch and all that. I scrapped that when I rode on a bike like it and it wasn't for the faint of heart. Almost completely impractical. But very hard to steal... LOL The OCC bike wasn't one. Not sure where Sr's head was when he OK's that design. Juniors bike looks like a good ride, but for that seat. I've ridden my share of rigids but that looks like farm equiptment to me! Bob

Decembers Mongoose kit will be the 70's Monogram kit!
Dragline replied to Dragline's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Look carefully Wayne. This is the ORIGINAL Snake RE Dragster. This is the kit with the supplied fuel and ignition wires. This is the ONE we all wanted. Read carefully, this is not the standard stuff but Monogram moldings of the early 70's car. Look at the solid front wheels too. Bob -
Kit 85-4908 will be the much sought after 70's kit that came with the Chrstmas tree as well as driver and crew figures. Should be on most of our lists. Now let's hope we can get decals to do the originals and a few variations. Happy Days indeed!!! Bob http://www.revell.com/model-kits/cars/85-4908.html

Coolest model I have ever seen
Dragline replied to DavidChampagne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I admit to being a "Kit" builder. So these thing intriugue me always. I want to Expand my modeling. But I remain reticent. It's these types of builds that inspire me to go further, Bob Frias AKA: Kit builder -
Were I to award a thread, I would award this very one. For staying true.... For being straight [LOL] For modeling the tougher subjects. For being a believer in our sport of Drag Racing. For taking the chance in this tough arena. My hat is off to you. I took the chance, I applaud yours. All my personal best. Bob Frias

I loved the Surfers build so much I now have it as desktop wallpaper. That's what i think of what you do broski. Bob

Dragline replied to PatRedmond's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll 3rd it since Jeff was always cool to me, but he's been banned for some time now. Not sure he'll ever see this. But good wishes are always welcomed. Happy Birthday Jeff. Bob
