  3. I didn't read everything but let me add this. Tamiya is not only NOT the best, it is not important. Duplicolor [in its many forms] not only gets the job done for EVERY color coat. It's cheaper and available. Don't get suck into that hole. The best advise i've given ever Bob

  19. Here's one I did for constructing struts. Frankly, the techniques for doing struts, coliovers and standard shocks are basically all the same. Hope this helps. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37867&st=0&p=390035&hl=struts&fromsearch=1&#entry390035 Bob
  20. I used a new blade for this 60 Starliner and it's still cutting like the first time I used it. Perhaps I'm just thinking it's still as sharp. Not certain what is dulling your blades prematurely. I use the blade only in my hand with no handle attached. It allows me precise control. I read that another here was using this method so I tried it on this car and the results bear it out. Considering how much foiling needed to be done I was still able to do it [after four 1 hour sessions] with consistent results. I believe this blade still has at least another trim heavy car in it. Perhaps even two. Bob
  21. Seems to be a concensus here. Tamiya, Testors and Duplicolor. I use the Duplicolor cheap brand primer and that stuff is great. It's house branded i believe to whatever store you are shopping at. My local shop carries the Bright Beauty line. It's Duplicolor by any other name. Great stuff. I use Testors 1814 enamel clear for all my color coats though. Tamiya for white and the brighest yellow. I've found a system and these paints are all part of it. Bob
  22. Jon, your mind is warped.... IN A GOOD WAY. I'm loving this build. Bob
  23. FINALLY the decals and windows. I'll let you all make the determination if the decals are correct. I have some Huggar Orange in my stash for this car. I was looking at Tamiya orange but it was just too bright. Let the opines begin. Bob
  24. The chrome on mine is quite flawless and the molds have probably been cleaned up a bit. Those wheels will need to be stripped. Interior is spartan but isn't that how they ran it? DOH experts weigh in here as well. Looks like some of the NASCAR pieces are missing here? The seats look good after a cursory glance. Tires are quite nice and the tubing will surely suffice. MORE black plastic. Final post
  25. Not so much a review but a look see into the box that a great many have been waiting for. The kit clearly shows it NASCAR heritage, but what's here is inviting and nostalgic. Let's take a look. An Iconic Image if ever there was one. Say what you will about the lowbrow slant of the show, its popularity cannot be denied. Upon opening the box you are greeted to this. Perhaps ALL WHITE plastic would have been asking too much? I am by no means an expert on Chargers, but this looks preety darned good to my eyes. Weigh in experts. Next post
