Christian, that was very harsh. I have been known to have an elephants skin and your tirade back there would have made even me pause. I normally don't give a flip about what others think. I post what i want and all and sundry are welcomed to pick it apart. I recall one time I did get worked up at Harry for my funny car post but that's been the extent of it. You sir, were harsh. truthful to be sure. But tactful, certainly not. But if it's any consolation, I did get a few gigles. It was like watching a car wreck in slo mo. Bob

So, I've said in the past that I wanted to try my hand at making a set of wire wheels for this build. Well, I'm at it tonight. I got the instructions from Straighlinemodeler.org and the link is here.. http://www.straightlinemodeler.org/wirewheels.htm I am using the kit rims and wheel centers but thinnned down the flanges with sandpaper and made the hubs from K&S aluminum tubing. Here we see I've started to make the first pass. These are the hubs and flanges. Second pass. I used Plastruct for the spokes. I made this one tonight and for the next three night I'll make another till I have the four I need. Models are fun. Bob

I watched this from the beginning and have just been in total admiration of your attention to detail Rommell. Cannot wait to see it "Under Glass" Every phase was enjoyable and I used your plastic bag idea for my belt set [i bought the same one]. Unfortunately, you cannot glue the plastic bag with CA. It simply dosen't stick [for me at any rate]. Great build bro. Bob

Welcome to the forums and NICE BUILDS. You have a clean style that's very popular around here. Some of the boyz are running to their projects right now to do a chin check. LOL Hope to see more. Bob

Very purdy indeed.... I always loved f-birds. Good to see one that is NOT dark green for once. Great color choice and execution. Bob

<BUMP> Looks like this project will stall a bit till I get some Pro Tech line coming in. I have almost enough fittings but the generic line I have doesn't fit. It came in 5 sizes and they are all to small or to big. So I have to wait till I get some dough for some of that Pro tech stuff. It looks so good and I've been meaning to get some so now I'll have to. But I figured I'd bump this thread and take a few shots with the body on. I also finished the chutes so I snapped one of them. Till I get some Pro Tech braid!!!!! Bob

Stellings and Hampshire C&T F/E dragster
Dragline replied to Fuel Coupe's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
OMG Shane! I missed so much of this I hadda read all before I could comment. The axle looks great and so do the headers. This is really coming along quite nicely. I'm really stoked to see you put your talents to work on a project like this. You got the goods kiddo... Bob -
WIP.....69 Daytona Pro Mod..Updated 10/28/10
Dragline replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Wayne, this is looking OUTSTANDING buddy. Any more progress on the chassis and motor? I LOVE this build.. Trade ya for one of mine!! Bob -
This is undoubtably the finest modeling I have ever seen and I have seen my share. This stuff is beyond reproach and it is clear there was a master at work. All the details are just right and the wear and tear make me blind. I just spent the better part of 2 hours looking at the Doan shop and all the rest and I repeatedly had to go back to reference other shots. Not a thing out of place. STUNNING IN EVERY WAY. We all have much to learn looking at this Masterwork. I've never seen its like in all my life. Bob

Flat or Satin Black Stripes/Graphics with Glossy Paint?
Dragline replied to Nate's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
As you said. Paint the stripes after all the clear coating and painting is done. Bob -
I try to offer "constructive" critisism in a positive manner always. I can only remember one time I did not use tact in a post about a model. I was wrong for doing so and apologized [via PM]. But my comments were there for all to see and it was embarrassing for me personally. This is not like me at all. If the conversation has been established and a flaw that has not been mentioned that is bugging me I may indeed try to help the poster. I have even gone so far as a mini tutorial as a way of helping. But mostly, I don't post anything at all and hope the modeler in question looks at other builds on this site on their own, and sees what can be accomplished with patience, tools, and a yearning to up their own personal ante. I try not to praise mediocrity, it does send the wrong message. Bob

Finally got the port injection completed. Looks like I'll have to tweak a few to look crisper and straighter but that's the easy part. It looks like I tweaked a couple of the hat lines but I'll get those as well. For the most part it's done.......... [wipes brow] I'm currently working on the barrel valve and if I like that throttle bracket or not. It's a standard bracket used for many years but it may be a tad thick so I may spend some time thinning it down a bit. The barrel valve is done, and it is the best one I ever made. Next up is braided lines for the fuel. I also have to finish the oil system but the filters are drying and since they have enamel on them it'll take another day before I can get to them. Thanks for watching. Bob

Marc, the fact that you have TWO Gremlins frightens me a great deal. Bob

Got her all polished up so I thought I'd share a few pics. I am obsessing over the port injection so I took a break to do some other tasks. I got most of the safety harness in but not buttoned down to the attachment points yet. I finished the mag and swiped a coil from my top fuel donor kit. As soon as I'm happy with the injection I'll be sure to post it. I'm also in the middle of fabricating the barrel valve and throttle bracket. There is plenty to keep me busy while I regroup for the injection finale. Thanks for hanging in there with me. And thanks for the encouragement. Bob

Beautifully detailed Brett. It looks spot on, and with regular items as well? Lotta work went into that. Very Nice. Bob
