Here is my everyday driver. 2000 Chevy Cavalier SS. Great tunes and some extra get up and go with aftermarket wheels, chip, exhaust and throttle body. Im going to keep it when I get a new car and install a supercharged Ecotech to embarass some Tuners. It gives em a run as it is. Bob

No worries about taking away from the build Matt. I have not worked on it in months. I sits there waiting for me. Your decal techniques are greatly appreciated too buddy. Bob

Harry does make a point, but only partly. While the Stray Cats did recycle a style somewhat. The sound was all their own. Thus, they were indeed ahead of their time. I'm currently working on a rock tune called "Four On The Floor" which features a High Energy rock beat with hellacious guitars and top fuel and Hot Rod enines roaring in the background in certain spots. As I was writing it, Hot Rods and pop culture just leapt into my mind. That, and I've been looking at a lot of Robt Williams type art lately. The riffs just leant themselves to the car sounds perfectly. Stategically placing them has been fun. I have a one minute snippet from ealier in my writing process, and while it's a scratch track you can feel the vibe it relays. Perhaps I'll post this little snippet for y'all to hear. How can I do this? Any help is appreciated. If I can send it to someone and they can host it [it's only 2.41Mb] PM me please. Bob

I'm with you on this one J. I build fairly detailed stuff and if you all saw my tools you'd laugh. I literally have alomost nothing in the way of any tools outside of a god pin vise [maybe 8 bits total]. I make all my own barrel valves and distribution blocks out of Plastruct. A good sleeve of plastruct can last a looooong time when you're building little parts. I have plenty or reference pics available and I go to work to make what I need. I do use PE I admit, but it is really limited to throttle bits and safety belts pretty much. I do use Detail Master AN fittings but am currently using Plastruct hex stock on a 1/16th Garlits build and I have it down cold. They look every bit as good and I don't have to ration them. I'm also using the hex stock for bolt heads and many other items. Plastruct flat stock has so many uses I couldn't go over them in a single evening there's that many. Plastruct is not terribly expensive so I pick up a little each time I'm at the LHS. K&S aluminum rod is also a big deal that is pretty darned cheap. I buy a couple of pieces every time I'm at the LHS and my collection grows slowly but steadily. The things that cost me the most are paint and kits. I don't even own an airbrush. I think my finishes are as good as most and all I use are rattle cans and the experience I've gained using them. I've made mistakes, but learned from them. Bob

Women can be strange creatures indeed. A lot of you guys are lucky and I know you don't forget that. Many years ago [read: 80's] my girlfriend Carmen bought me models. She said i was home with her and I enjoyed it so why not. Smart girl. My wife was tolerant of it for the most part. She didn't have hobbies but didn't mind my comic collecting or model building either. Funny things is she hated the bands I was in. She met me when I was in a band but wanted me to give them up after we were married. Weird that. I realized my mistake and we are no longer together. Then she marries the guitarist from one of my old bands later on. That gal made no sense. But she was VERY easy on the eyes. My current gal lkes my models and does cross stitch and sews so she's always at Michaels or some other place like that. We hang out many a night and she does her thing and I do mine. We are only a room apart and since I'm always getting up for this or that I see her every few minutes. We also like Metal so i put the tunes on a lot and we groove on the latest CD. Luck has nothing to do with it I suppose. Holding out for someone that's right for you is all that's required. Bob

I do see the front and rear fit issues you speak of. I've never built this kit so I'll save the fit advice for those who have. Those issues aside it's a very nice build. Welcome back to the hobby. Bob

THIS is a first. I have never seen this kit with the Boss Hoss decals. Darn it looks good..... Paint is MUY' sweet too Brett. My M/T build is falling short. [picking up slack] Bob

If it's a 1/8th scale model and the real car takes a 1/2" stripe, 1/16" stipers tape would be perfectly to scale. It will bend perfectly around those fenders for certain. Bob
