That looks great! Those are not expensive are they? I may get one to take time away from drag racing subjects. It looks very nice and with less detail underneath you can really just focus on finish. They make Jagermeister orange? Bob

Made some progress to the Tommy Ivo car here. Motor is almost done. Have to run a wire to the oil pressure gauge and get an acetate face and bezel on it. Still have to attatch the PE throttle as well. Got the body painted in Tamiya orange. Nothing fancy for paint as I've seen it so many hues I think it'll be close enough. Not TOTALLY prototypically correct but very close indeed. I should have decals and clear coat in the next day or so. I buffed out my Reher Morrison car and that's looking pretty good as well. I have that chassis sorted out and the motor details are next. I figure, if I'm doing all the small work and I'm on a roll just keep going. Wheels and tires from a Polar Lights kit. Comments welcomed of course. Bob

Killer original design Sven! It truly captures the look of the old Hurst team style. As usual, your models are cleanly built and executed. Bravo sir. Bob

1/16 Scale Front Engine Dragster Project - Finished
Dragline replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is looking real good. Sometimes, when they call on you to finish them, you must answer. It should look great finished, and your injector lines and dist blocks look real good. Get-R-Done.... Bob -
This kit has not looked better Chuck. I have an inkling to get one. Red Fiats are truly Italian. Fiat is Italian right? Bob

I'm feeling ya Bill. We have over 4 feet of snow here in Baltimore. We'll get out one day. Bob -
WOW, thanks guys.. This is not as hard as some may think. I DO NOT have the hands of a surgeon, I shake a bit. I have to hold my breath when lining up the drill to make a hole. LOL. Some Plastruct and some snow make for long days in the house. I can only play Battlefield II for so long, then I have to do something else. I actually used the side of the kit box for the inspiration in doing this. More to come. Bob

This looks like a BMF nightmare! You really went after it on this. I love an old bus. Bob

This is beautiful.. I love old VW's since I come from Hippy stock. We had one all those moons ago and it took us everywhere. Very nice build. Bob

Since a good portion of my projects are in various stages of drying I thought I'd break out this kit and start to work on it. This is a sweet kit. The supplied hat is waaay to small, but one from a Reevell kit came to the rescue. Still not sure about wheels/tires. The Revell Blue Max came with nice one piece tires so I'm most likely going to use those. I have the body all glued up and sanded. Just need to shoot some white primer on it. I'm going with basic Tamiya orange on this. Of course the Heart of any drag build is the motor, so I'm really working this one up. I am using MCG fittings and some rubber tubing for the fuel delivery. I scratch built the barrel valve and distribution blocks. All the injection is done and as soon as I can shoot it I'll cover the new hat with some Metalizer. I have that nice set of PE linkages from MCG so all the throttle and little bits will be from that set. Still have lots to do, but it's coming along. I guess the harsh snow has inspired me since going out is a nightmare. Comments welcomed of course. Bob

A scale strip club. I can now officially say I've seen it all in modeling. Fantastic! I'm very interested in the finished product. The touches you keep adding are upping the ante. I can hear the DJ saying 'Let's welcome Destiny to the solid gold stage"! Bob

Snowed In For Days
Dragline replied to Dragline's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It just so happens that we had the foresight to get out Monday and do all our shopping. The Bank, Food store, then Liquor store were all on our route. Suffice it to say I'm good for the next week. Good lookin out though. Bob -
Where ya goin' Hot foot?
Dragline replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
120 in the quarter with my Pro Street 73 Vega. Got it on the highway and buried the 140 speedo. Not sure how fast, but it was fast enough. Bob -
We have been getting PUMMELED here in Baltimore for the last week. 5 days ago, 32 inches. The last 24 hours have seen a foot come down with more on the way till this evening. So, I build right? yeah, problem is, all my current projects are in various stages of drying in my Mums basement. I can't get there, so waddyado? That's right! Break out a new kit. In this case, Tommy Ivo's FED. What a nice kit. Here we see the motor getting detailed. I scratchbuilt the barrel and distribution blocks and plumbed the primary and port injections. I also have the mag wired up. I'm currently getting all the main fuel feeds assembled as well as the brakes and shoulder harness. Snowy days... Mother Natures way of saying "Get to that bench and do some work". Bob

This is truly one of the most unique Drag cars I have ever seen and an outstanding replica. Shane, you are doing it TOTAL justice buddy. The look and the whole vibe is all right there. Weathering it a bit???? I remember you saying you were gonna and some "been run" grime. Cannot wait to see it finished. Bob

That's looking HOT! Decals look great. Your work is truly top notch. Keep at it... Bob

Outstanding for a "weekend" build I must say. All it needs is a Willy Borsche figure with one hand one the wheel and one on the sill, smoking the tires sideways all the way down the 1320. If there are any who have never seen a Winged Express run I would turn your attention to YouTube and do a search. You'll see the MOST entertaining run down the 1/4 mile that ever was. VERY nice build. Willy R.I.P Bob

Super nice Duo! Classy color scheme as well. Well executed. Bob -
congratulations Saints!
Dragline replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am stoked for the Saints. After all that state has gone through and how this countrie's Government wasn't there for them. Drew Brees played a helluva game. The first half didn't start out so hot and i thought the Colts would strike more. But they came back in the second half and played like the Champs they are. All that and I'm a Patriots fan so I am a Colts hater. That, and I live in Baltimore so I adopted the Ravens as my second team. Talk about hatred from Ravens fans about the Colts? WOW! Congrats SAINTS! WHO DAT!!! Bob -
I'll be there. I'll bring a car or two. C-Ya then Bob

Looks fantastic Bob. Enamels get a bad rap. I work with them with great results. I do love laquers though. Sweet machine. Bob

Superb, I'll echo others and say I'd also like to have that on my shelf. Well done indeed. Bob
