  1. That 710 cap literally made me laugh so hard I pee'd a bit. As a mechanic for 17 years you hear a lot of this stuff. But seeing it on this site just killed me. Nothing funnier. Bob
  2. STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob EDIT: The last picture looks so real......... All of them really, but that one in partucular.
  3. You truly speak words of wisdom regarding critiques John. I agree and like it when others point something out. It makes ME a better modeler as well. Of course this build is beautiful in every sense of the word. Time to dig out my Jo-Han Mustang I think. I need decals for it though. Any ideas? I want to build it with the shotgun it comes with. Bob
  4. Gorgeous color. Is that the Tamiya [forget the name of the color] paint? I see it all the time at my LHS and what to get it but not certain what to use it for. Beautiful car. Bob
  5. The flames look great on this. Nice paint as well. As nice as Ive seen of this kit. Never saw a real all out detailed one. Hmmmmmm Bob
  6. As Evil a Challenger as I've ever seen. Nice job and clever use of the Slixx decal. Poyfect. Bob
  7. Talk about dirty! Chasing Cheetahs through the open plain is a messy business indeed. I like it a lot. Great first post in under glass. Bob
  8. I have this issue. Prety rough with a bunch of rusted through areas. Of course it is so important as a car. Is it being restored? and it's white to boot. This would be a great project. I need another one like I need.....well, you get the idea. Bob
  9. This is a great first build. Like many here, my first build looked NOTHING like this. If I still had it I'd probably be so embarrased I'd restore it. I admire your taking the time to look over the tips and techniques [i assume you did some of that]. Keep taking your time and you will certainly be rewarded. You already have in my estimation. Good stuff. Bob
  10. I use it with either Mr Color or Tamiya acrylic clear to seal tire decals on my drag prjects and have had great results. There was a learning curve though. At first I used too much, then not enough. It's true it can white out so if you end up with that finish you can go over it again with another mix to correct it. I now use my special mixture exclusively for tire decals and have found other uses as well. Gotta mess with it a bit till you find the happy medium you seek. Good luck, it isn't hard to find. Bob
  11. Craftsmanship, execution, gall. 3 things that make a great model apart from the ordinary. WOW! Some don't get it? No worries. Bob
  12. Absolutely beautiful Tim. Where'd you get the re-pops? They available by someone or did you do em yourself? Very nice car in all respects. A few more pics wouldn't hurt. Interior in particular. Bob
  13. Guitar World Guitar Player MCM SAE Hot Rod Bob
  14. Those look GREAT Shane! Well worth the effort and better than PE by a ###### site too. I'll never use kit spokes again. Something tells me neither will you. Bob
  15. Welcome Tom... Lots on info here like the others have said. Enjoy back to the hobby and welcome to the fold. Look in the "Under Glass" section for inspiration and plenty of beautiful cars. Bob
  16. Looking sweet Shane. Cannot wait to see the wheels you are making for it. And some paint. It sure looks fantastic already. Bob
  17. 15 complete, 32 unbuilt. Not much of a hoarder I guess. Bob
  18. We sure could use an update on this one ..... Bob
  19. Seriously? it came as a solid block? Geez............Why would someone sell such a thing? Good thing they sold it to you buddy. Excellent in ALL aspects. I'm a Large Father fan too...... Bob
  20. This looks great Marcos. Maybe you'll bring it to a MAMA meeting? I'd like to see it up close when it's finished. Bob
  21. More, and closer pix please. Bob EDIT: Nevermind. I see the WIP link....DOH!
  22. I'll be watching this one Curt. Gorgeous color and restored car. Bob
  23. Once again, my favorite MAMA modeler Dave Zinn comes to my rescue to provide the missing nosepiece for this build. Thanks Dave and the skate sticker pack is on the way. As for Don Fahrni? I dunno. It's been a while since he's put anything new on the tables anywhere. He is also MY favorite drag modeler as well. I think John Teresi may eventually inch him out, but right now Don is still up there for me. His stuff is just soo cool. And to think how long ago he was doing all that superdetailing [read: 80's]. Before the advent of PE sets, and at the dawn of scale AN fittings. He has one Pro Stock car that is just soo over the top in terms of detailing. That's the car that has the scraped AN fittings that look like they've seen many a wrench. The whole dry sump just looks so perfect. Maybe Don's a memmber here? If you are Don, give us all a holler buddy. We'd love to hear from ya. Bob
  24. Geez Gary, that case is chock full o great cars and awards. I have no place to put mine so they go back in their boxes and I break out another. I have a case in mind, but they are so bloody expensive I may end up making it. I wouldn't say I have Norm Abram skills, but I know my way around a table saw and router table. Perhaps someday. Bob
  25. Welcome friend. I like your avatar and your model. Keep hanging out and eventually it will feel like home. Happened to me. Bob
