  1. The skate got cancelled due to rain tonight so I worked on the other side and started fabbing up the port distribution block and barrel valve. Yep, we garage skate Dave. usually downtown Baltimore Parking Garages. We just had a big article in the Washington Post. Check it out here http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/12/AR2010071204464.html My brother Scott is the bald guy narrating it and driving the "tow" vehicle. I missed that skate so I'm not in it. I've written for mags and skate books so it really was his turn to shine about his over 30 years of Skateboarding. Skateboarding has been a part of my life for 37 years now. If I miss a skate I feel like I've cheated myself somehow. LOL Bob
  2. Looking VERY good Broski. I love an old school rail. Tame those wires a bit though.... Bob
  3. Picked up some craft wire today and got to work on the hat injection lines. I got one side done and was so stoked I wanted to share it. Getting ready to go garage skating tonight so I won't finish these, but tomorrow I'll be on em for sure. Thanks for looking. Bob
  4. Off to a good start here. Get R Done! Bob
  5. She sher is purty Shane, I will be watching closely. I like the idea of using tube for the chassis for a better look. Motor? The Willy Borsch would be perfect I think..... resin hat? Looks like a 392... Looks like hardline injection too. Pressure from my Bud King build now transfered to you. LOL Bob
  6. Looks cool, what chassis? Bob
  7. We have another nice SWC coupe here. I gotta get mine outta the box someday. Bob
  8. That's the kind of car you pilot, not drive. Smoooooth. Bob
  9. Yes you did Dave! I cannot live without em. Replica's and Miniatures of Mayland has em Envious8420 The set is photo etched and does the front/rear on Monogram and Revell Drag tires and also the little tiny ones that Revell had for a short period for top fuel cars. Thanks Dave. Bob
  10. OH, now the pressure's on Shane! LOL, I gotta say, this one is testing me a bit. The line I have IS too small. So I have to rethink the injection for the moment. It just looked wrong. Good eyes PRG. Up on 4 wheels at any rate. Bob
  11. Slixx makes sets for that car Dave. I'll update soon. Bob
  12. It's actually 32 gauge craft wire Roger. It does look like solder though, but it's a bit brighter. Thanks. Bob
  13. A WIP by the big Kahuna eh? I'll be watching this one fer sher. Signed The Central Scutinizer.
  14. If it's not spot on in size it's darn close. I've used this line before for hardline injection and was complimented about the scale of it. It works for me. Bob
  15. Sorry to hear about the "pink" nose there John. I laid down some trial masking a while ago and it looks good. I used Testors classic white laquer so it's nice n bright. I'll mask again for the red. I thought doing it that way would be interesting and it looks like it'll be a snap. Got the rest of the fuel block lines in and am about to bend em up. Just gotta check the hat clearance first. Bob
  16. Decided to get cracking on this kit. I bought this for 10.00 at a Flea Market close to my house. It was opened but the bag was sealed and the decals were perfect. As typical of Monogram kits of this era, the windows were a bit scratched. I got em polished up god and am ready to take on the rest of the kit. I'm doing a full detail on this so that means full fuel and electrical, or as close to it as I get. Here we see I've already gt the chassis painted Metalizer Titanium. I REALLY need chassis shots of this car and cannot find any ANYWHERE. I have plenty of outside photos and frankly didn't need any. But the motor and chassis is something I really need bad. I've done about 4 hours of careful searching and begging on the NHRA boards but nothing yet. This car won the 1985 Championship so it's not like some also ran car and driver here. It's frikkin Kenny Bernstein!!! I'm doing hardline for the hat and port injection. It seems to me they sometimes used hose up top and hard line on the port but I like the look of the hardline going under the hat so that's what I'm doing on this. I fairly certain he only ran one Mag on this car but I cannot be sure. These were the days when chrome was realized for what it was in NHRA racing. Useless bling, so I dechromed the appropriate pieces. Got my first fuel block 1/2 done and made a quick reference point on my paper to make the bends so they all come out even. The port will get the same with much longer lines and angles going into the manifold. This is a superb vintage kit and Monogram did em great back then. The body is in primer and awaiting the white for the graphic portion of the decals, then it's bright red. This is fun. Bob
  17. I don't think he uses the solution Charlie, just the jar and basket. Bob
  18. I honestly think Amonnia is better at stripping chrome guys. I suggest you try it. Bob
  19. Dragline

    '72 RRunner

That red paint is burning my eyes it's sooo bright. Very nice build. Bob
  20. I have done a very thorough internet search and cannot find any descent motor and chasis shots. Wasn't this car in Hot Rod or C Craft? Bernstein did win the 85 Championship with the car so it's significant. Any help is appreciated. I have TONS of exterior shots at this point. Bob
  21. Looking real good Len. I didn't realize that model has what looks like an accurate Don Hardy chassis in it. I'm going to buy a couple just for it alone. That's going to come out schweet. Cannot wait to see it finished. Bob
  22. What can I say Mike? They dry in my hand in these temps bro. At this rate Ill complete 5 cars a month! LOL It has been dry here so humidity has NOT been a problem. I spray Duplicolor from cans [No airbrush] and they are VERY particular to temp and humidity. As for the rest..... It's been a lifelong dream to get these done and OUTTA the way to focus on other builds. Next up? Kenny Bernsteins Tempo Funny Car! Full Detail.......... That, and to finish my Reher Morrison Build. One kit at a time eh? Bob
  23. Submitted for your approval...... Snake N Mongoose. Natural enemies in the wild, and on the track....... Bob
  24. Beautiful finish Marcos. MAMA strikes again! Bob
  25. This was a 3 day "It's too hot out there!" build. I started with the AMT/Model King reissue kit. Sean S made some killer decals for this issue and I put them to work. To bad I sprayed on Metalizer instead of clearcoat to my first decal scheme. I stipped the decals sanded the body a bit and re-sprayed it. Good tip. Always look at the can you are about to spray with. Since I had 2 decal sheets left over from my Mongoose and Snake AA/FD builds and they had these cool flame decals in the set, so I used one for the hood and cut the other in half for the sides. Made it up like a local guy trying to run with the big boys and this is what you get. It was so hot when I sprayed the enamel clear coat that the next day it was polished and BMF'd by the afternoon. Other than the decals it is OOB. Bob
