What Older TV show's need to be put to rest already??
Rob Hall replied to ranma's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I pretty much only stream and am selective w/ what I watch... I like Apple TV+, various channels on Prime (Acorn, BritBox, MhZ, PBS Masterpiece, Paramount+, etc) and occasionally Netflix and Hulu. I like YouTube for music and music documentaries, along w/ a bunch of automotive channels. -
1/25 Tucker 48/Torpedo -- "Coming Soon" at SpotModel
Rob Hall replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have been impressed by the quality of product I've bought out of Ukraine in recent years... I don't have any interest in Tuckers, but the items I've bought originating from Andrey Berezodny designs, USCP, and DioLex have all been excellent.. it is interesting how Ukraine seems to be a hotbed of 3D designers of vintage American products... -

A question for Mr. Goldman - Re Round 2
Rob Hall replied to iwantmodels's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It’s funny, I picked up an unbuilt ‘72 SSlasher at a show last year. Molded in black. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
On a long weekend break down in SE Ohio on the river in Marietta and saw several interesting cars the last couple days. An early 00s Thunderbird, an MG-B in my hotel parking lot along with a 1st gen Honda Insight—haven’t seen one of those in forever. And a C8 coupe. Saw an ‘70 Mustang notchback w/ Mach 1 style stripes while driving, and a black ‘72 Chevelle in nice shape. Last pic is my Caddy—very comfortable road trip car. -

Took a scenic drive out east of my area to the rolling hills of Geauga County and Lake County, Ohio and saw a sharp apple green ‘69 Chevelle and a bright blue ‘65 Chevelle 2dr sedan. Stopped at a couple overlooks on Lake Erie, the water still blustery from all the storms this week… -

Tamiya 1/24 Nissan 240Z (street custom?)
Rob Hall replied to Bennyg's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Looks like it does. -
Sharp car..I always liked the CTS coupe... my '19 CT6 I bought last month is similarly loaded with goodies.. 360 degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, sensors all around, self-parking (haven't tried that), panoramic sunroof, automatic headlights, wipers, and HVAC...AWD w/ a 3.6 V6, 10 spd auto and 44k miles. New enough to have Apple Car Play, wireless phone charging, etc. Taking it on a weeklong road trip later this month down to the NC and SC coasts and back..

Those look similar to wheels in some releases of the AMT '66 Mustang ht (70s-80s releases--Countdown Series and Barris)--not sure if the more recent issues have them...those were chromed, would need painted to look that way of course. The Tamiya Jeep Wrangler hardtop kit has something similar but of a much flatter design.

Got this restorable ‘58 Bonneville off eBay. Seems complete except for wheel covers. And the steering wheel is broken.

Got totality here outside Cleveland. Took a few pics, more interesting were the shadows and light on the yard. Got dark enough for my outside lights to come on.

Night bulb will soon be blocking day bulb...been listening to music sort of related to that theme today--Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' album, Audioslave's 'Shadow on the Sun', U2's 'Staring at the Sun' and the Beatles 'Here Comes the Sun'.... a little cloudy but should still be good here in NE Ohio..taking the afternoon off, got my shades..

Ohio is pretty gloomy and gray in the winter also, though though February this year was sunnier than normal. It took some effort to adjust to it again when I moved back in 2017 after 20 years living in very sunny places (Colorado and Arizona).

Beautiful sunny day today, took scenic drives in my Jeep, Mustang and Cadillac.. found a really good Vietnamese restaurant nearby for lunch. Spent a lot of time in the sun in the backyard w/ the dogs. worked a bit in the garage tidying up and working to make room for two cars (still have a lot of boxes from moving last year). Then spent a while this afternoon in the hot tub..sky is beautiful today. May watch the eclipse from the hot tub, supposed to have totality here around 3:15 est tomorrow.

Who all knows of the Chicago Cutlass?
Rob Hall replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen the famed Cutlass in Chicago traffic probably 25 years ago... -

Beautiful Spring day, took my Mustang for a spin. Saw 3 clean ‘80s-90s Corvettes out for Sunday drives also. Took advantage of the weather to take pics of my vehicles in my driveway. Later took the Caddy out for lunch and drove the beautiful Chagrin River Road Saw several more nice Corvettes and Porsches of various vintages (incl. an '80s 911 wide body w/ whale tail in a bright green), and a gorgeous black Caddy XLR-V rolling top down. -
Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
Rob Hall replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Reissuing it as a regular ‘67 Impala 4dr ht would need just some wheel covers and a correct bench seat, with some existing redline tires. Not sure how well that would sell, pretty niche. I’ve got the parts to do one like that, and a phantom 4dr SS parts w/ parts from a coupe kit. -
I remember the Browns moving to Baltimore to become the Ravens in the 90s and the current Browns starting up a few years later.

Rob Hall replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The roofline shape is different on a 4dr sedan...fixed B-pillar, more vertical C-pillar, slightly higher roof, different rear window shape, side window door frames...to do a sedan would require a new body tooling. I am surprised we haven't seen a resin or 3d printed '67 Biscayne/Bel Air/Impala 4dr sedan conversion, would be popular w/ the police car builders.
