Buick Invicta via The French Connection

Great movie..didn't realize it was based on a book. The sequel was good also...Gene Hackman was always one of my favorite movie tough guys. -
Real hot-rodding is alive and well...
Rob Hall replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's kind of limiting to be stuck to those old time definitions...1948 is over 75 years ago. I get it, the diesel Tesla is an example of modern 'hot rodding', i.e. modifying a car in a non-stock manner. A while back, I watched a good series of YouTube videos from Rich Rebuilds where they put an LS into a Tesla Model S... a lot of work and fabrication went into it... the results were interesting. -
When I had Ring cameras, I usually got about 6 weeks to a charge out of them. You can adjust the zones for motion detection and the sensitivity to get longer battery life. At my new house I have 2 of the Google Nest wired door bells and six Nest battery cameras, I'm getting about 6 weeks out of them also. But the Nest cameras are a newer generation than the Ring cameras I had and have much clearer images.

IIRC, the ‘79 kit had the redesigned dash like the 1:1 had. I built the ‘78 & ‘79 kits as a kid back in the day.

Revell 1971 Mustang Mach 1 in stock now at...
Rob Hall replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It’s a replica of the movie car, which was a base Mach 1. The kit is exactly as expected. Maybe down the road they will do a loaded Ram Air Mach 1. -
No talk about the Round2 1971 Dodge Demon ?
Rob Hall replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Just got an email from Model Roundup that my 3 preorders have shipped. Woo-hoo! -
Got these two built kits from the same seller on eBay. Both restorable and complete (the Vega is missing the steering wheel)—AMT ‘72 Monte Carlo and MPC ‘71 Vega.

Do we have release/shipping info on the AMT Mach Won funny car?
Rob Hall replied to Monty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have a feeling this one like the Demon and Ford pickups is stuck in distribution hell as far as the US goes.. -

Rob Hall replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I assume those were sourced via Wal-Mart. Seems like the distribution is really slow on these kits. -

Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
Rob Hall replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This one has survived in all its glue bomb glory….my first glue kit I built at age 7 in 1977. Brush painted in Testors ubiquitous 1111 blue, old bathroom carpet cut and put in interior, trunk mat from somewhere else. I hated the two piece plastic tires and changed them out with some parts box wheels & tired sometime in the 80s. The ‘Bad Dream’. -

Rob Hall replied to Monty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Round 2’s shipping and release dates have all been delayed and slow so far this year. It will be out eventually. -
Sun would be nice...been a lot of snow, freezing rain, cloudy and foggy the last few weeks. I can't complain too much, though...I've lived in several very sunny places, had more than enough for a lifetime..

Isn't it just the Lindberg Little Red Truck w/ different decals? Nothing new except for the decals, I'd assume...

Spectrum tech was out and got a new line strung across the street, got my high speed internet back. Impressed they were able to get this sorted in under 24 hrs…

Everything was underground at my previous house...they were putting in fiber last summer when I moved to another suburb. Love my new house on almost 2 acres, but some things aren't perfect.

A quiet day, working in my home office. After lunch noticed my internet was out. Rebooted the modem, nothing. Checking around, went outside to get the mail and noticed a cable hanging down and in the road. A tall truck must have snagged my internet cable. Called Spectrum, they will have someone out tomorrow. Ugh. Going to have limp along on my mobile hotspot. Slow.

They look nice from the eBay photos, look similar to Andrey Beredzony's one...I have one of those printed by Andy Lesiak and one of Andrey's Buick Sport Wagons of the same era I got from Diolex on eBay.

STEVE SCOTT ,A.KA . [ UNCERTAIN T ]
Rob Hall replied to bpletcher55's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've never understood the appeal of show rods or George Barris stuff...but I think a lot of that is generational...sort of 'you had to be there'... as a kid in the late 70s-80s I had no interest in show cars, just not my genre of interest. I was obsessively reading Road & Track, Motor Trend and Car and Driver. -

Rob Hall replied to bpletcher55's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's from before my time, but my understanding is it's a fairly famous show rod that's been hidden away for decades, so it's re-appearance will get attention. -

Parts for such a version were shown somewhere a while back (flat hood and '73 grille & headlight surrounds). We will see what comes... nothing officially announced.
