I wonder now...did any of the versions of the kit mention that it was Dodge based? The MPC version from the 80s didn't. Edit: I found at least one...an AMT issue from the '90s (gold vehicle on the box, red border on the box) calls it out as 'DODGE DEORA SHOW CAR'...
Shipping was a bit steep, about $24 USD for regular mail, with the total at 64 euros or about $72 USD, so I figure $36 each wasn't bad, probably less than they would be here, if I could even find them in a shop here....
Got my HY and Mehari today, only a little over 2 weeks from France to Arizona...not bad. The boxes were squished slightly from the plastic wrap being too tight (soft boxes), but everything inside looks fine at first glance..
The Catalina and Ventura were on the shorter wheelbase, the Catalina the base model and the Ventura w/ a bit more trim. The Star Chief and Bonneville were on the longer wheelbase, with higher trim levels and different taillights.
After the '70 and '72 kits, I wonder if we will eventually see more variations of this tool. A '67 and '68 would be nice. And the chassis, engine etc could be used with new body, interior etc to do '65-66 versions. Or maybe new tooling and do some '73-79 F series...
The box art photos are both of the AMT kits...the 'stock' one probably was digitally retouched, to remove the wipers, etc. The parts pictured are AMT. Nothing MPC pictured in this thread that I see...
Nice to see the Mercedes AMG GT and McLaren. Odd to see the two Porsche 934 versions--those were done previously by Tamiya in those same liveries. Too bad the Isetta is not 1/24th. I wonder if the 1/32nd Opel GT and Beetle are the old Revell snap kits?
