  1. Fascinating...I had assumed a '14 Corvette Stingray would be out sooner or later...the Torino is a surprise...hopefully this will be all new tooling of a '74-76 Gran Torino (like in S&H) and not just the existing Revell '70 w/ a white stripe and slotted mags added.
  2. Meh...just fast food joints..none of that stuff is good for you, it's all heavily processed.
  3. No doubt for doing subsequent Super Stock drag versions.. The '65 Satellite and Comet will both be welcome kits, as neither have been kitted before..good 'gap fillers'..
  4. Yes, that was the kit I was thinking of..the wing is integral to the decklid IIRC.
  5. Watching some first season Rockford episodes tonight...have fond memories of watching that show in the 70s w/ my Dad when I was a kid..
  6. The Revell Saleen convertible kit had a large rear spoiler, and there was a Revell modified '94-98 coupe with a large rear spoiler, molded in IIRC. Neither were what I'd consider a 'whale tail', though...at least not in the Porsche sense. The Monogram '89 Mustang convertible kit had a rear spoiler similar to the Saleen style on the white car in the above post, IIRC.
  7. I've had relatives and non-techie friends ask me if I could set up a PC for them, install software (without paying for licenses, of course), provide general tech support, etc...when I tell them my 'friends and family' bill rate is $75/hr that shuts them up..
  8. Saw an article about a traveler that got stuck at a TSA checkpoint at the Orlando airport because the TSA agent didn't know the District of Columbia existed and was a valid issuer of driver's licenses. Idiots.
  9. I don't think anyone was advocating digital only, but having both a print and digital version like most magazines offer today..
  10. I'm not sure how handling issues with 1:1 stock Corvairs has any relevance to a model of a drag racing funny car? This thread has gone off the rails sounds like. Anyway, is the body in this kit derived from the stock Corvair kit? It seems like the stock kit still exists, was reissued in the last decade or so..
  11. Neat...wasn't aware of the Craftsman Jr version.
  12. It would probably be comparable to Revell doing the Boss 302. New front and rear fascias and trim, taillights, grille, headlights, engine, hood, interior, wheels, tires.
  13. True..it definitely can be done. But look at Revell in recent years--very slow at getting new product out--it took them 2 years to get the '10 Camaro and Mustang out...over a year to get the '13 Boss 302 out...very slow...I just can't see Revell being that on the ball.
  14. Looks like it's been touched up in photoshop...the windshield looks too curved...
  15. As an aside, was '36 the last year for the roadster in 1:1?
  16. Maybe video games never eclipsed diecast collecting or modeling for me because I got into it later..maybe 4 years after I started building models when I got my first Atari, then my first computer (Commodore 64). I've dabbled in games for over 30 years, but never been a huge gamer like many of my peers were (and many still are). But I grew up in a family of car enthusiasts--- so cars, car culture and diecast then modeling dominated my interests at an early age.
  17. I'd love to build one like this...I like the look of the crew cabs of that generation..
  18. I've read that.. also--about the '78 Firebird, it seems there may have been two tools of that one also? Or I'm misremembering something. I seem to remember it badged as an AMT at one time in the '90s and having some differences from the MPC annual (t-tops molded in or not) ? I have 3 different '70s vintage MPC '77-78 Firebirds-one annual w/ a red car, one with a blue, the 'Blackbird' (Bandit style) version...and there have been several reissues of that one since then.
  19. The in-progress build up pics I've seen on Facebook look great...
  20. Yes, I would assume so...I wonder what decade had the most car makers...the 1910s or 1920s I assume. By 1940 there weren't many independents left.
  21. I bet the original MPC Dukes of Hazzard Charger is in the top 10, maybe the MPC '78 Trans Am (Bandit style).
  22. Yeah...I'll probably pre order a couple of these when Model Roundup has them available for po. I'd like to do one stock and one w/ a step side bed.
  23. Unthinkable!! So you like 1:1 Mustangs but not kits of them? Curious...
  24. This one is not a sequel but is a reboot, so I wouldn't expect continuity from the original 3 films. Good to hear Miller is back.
  25. Yeah, there were a couple threads on here about it... Maybe they will do a pre painted version like the upcoming '13 Challenger and Camaro kits.
