  1. Well, the AMT '55 is the only one for a styrene 2dr sedan. Revell did do a diecast 2dr sedan of the car from American Graffitti, which would be similar to the TLB car...
  2. True enough...I love 'em loaded...haven't bought a car w/ manual windows in 25 years... my Jeep has heated seats and mirrors, my Caddy one ups that with heated and cooled seats. Regular cupholders, though..I'd like to see heated and chilled cupholders as an option.
  3. Well, most every month this year has been at least 1-2 or more new Revell kits for me, but January is definitely going to be an AMT month...the van, Myers Manx, Gremlin..got to do some preorders.
  4. I've put 135k on my '00 Grand Cherokee that I bought new--keeping it as a backup daily driver and for winter driving up in the mountains..it's been pretty reliable over all. My new daily driver--an '11 Caddy STS--has a bit over 4k miles now, hope to get 10 years out of it.
  5. I prefer the reliability, safety features and cabin electronic goodies of modern cars. I tend to buy new and drive 'em for 10 years or more....
  6. The previous issue didn't have the stock tires...this is just a straight reissue of that version.
  7. Looks like a cool kit...one of the open top ones would be a neat variation.
  8. .Volvo is a Swedish company, though it has a Latin name. I've known many SAAB and Volvo owners, they tend to be professionals and good people...don't know if that is what you mean by 'uppity'. Are you intentionally trying to sound like a redneck (stereotype).
  9. Yeah, I remember when I was a kid Revell kits were the worst..the ones to avoid. One of the first kits I built--the first 1:25th scale glue kit, IIRC---as a 7-yr old was the late '70s issue of the '56 Chevy w/ opening doors, trunk, etc...was a pain to put together, molded in an ugly green. Then I remember the some Mustang and Firebird kits from '79-80 or so that had weird squishy tires and poor engine and interior detailing... I didn't really get into Revell kits until the late '80s after they acquired Monogram and started putting out some new tooling.
  10. I have a multi-region Phillips DVD player, so the Region 2 DVD plays fine...my Blu-Ray player is US only, though...hope there is a US Blu Ray release.
  11. It's definitely been an interesting season for the Broncos...I moved to Colorado in '97 and recall the two Super Bowl Championships then...lots of fun to be in an area w/ a winning team...been a lot of disapointment overall from them since Elway's retirement...
  12. The racing versions look good..didn't MPC do a race version of the Daytona back in the early '70s?
  13. Buick is in a tough spot in the US now in that they have to fill the mid-market gap between Chevy and Cadillac where Pontiac and Saturn also recently existed. Sort of like how Mercury was filler between Ford and Lincoln. The problem is how they can be distinctive without overlapping Chevy or Cadillac at each end too much. They also overlap GMC on the CUV side to a degree. For example, The '13 Malibu is also going to be on SWB Epsilon II like the Regal, and the '14 Impala will be on LWB Epsilon iI as is the LaCrosse and upcoming Caddy XTS.
  14. It's too bad SAAB hasn't been able to survive on their own...they had some interesting, quirky cars...back in the day my sister had a '91 900 Turbo coupe...I drove it a few times in the Boston area back then...fun car.
  15. nfl.com has them in kids' sizes, but it's too late now, it says they will ship after Dec 25th.
  16. It's a prop made for a TV ad, that's all...people are reading waaaaay to much into this.
  17. And IIRC some of the old AMT and MPC Corvette kits had both the soft top and hardtop....I'd like both for variety..
  18. I support my local hobby shop for supplies and some kits...but it's hard to beat the point-and-click convenience of buying kits online from reputable kit retailers...been doing it for over a decade now, nothing new...I remember back in the day mail ordering kits from 'paper' catalogs, same thing but online is easier and more efficient.
  19. I've seen it 3 times..first time streamed a Turkish version off the internet, then the UK DVD, then in a local theatre..saw it w/ my sister who is a 45+yr F1 fan and a Senna fan(atic)....we really enjoyed it. Plan to get the US Blu Ray version eventually once it becomes available.
  20. I had preordered from Model Roundup, got an email that they shipped it today...hopefully I'll have it soon.
  21. Yes! I'd love to see those two, especially the Auburn...always thought it was odd Monogram didn't do one, considering the Cord and Duesies they did in their Classics line back in the day...
  22. Exactly...buyer beware...if you buy a 'new' kit without doing your homework beforehand, it's your fault..especially in the modern era where so much information is online...
  23. My preorder shipped today, hopefully it will arrive before xmas...
  24. Those Hudsons had an interesting structure...interesting how the frame rails run on the outside of the rear wheel wells...
  25. Excellent documentary...bought the DVD a few months ago, saw it in the theatre a couple months back..though I wish they had included more on the '92-93 seasons like the '93 Donnington race. On a modeling level, I do want to build my 1:20th Senna Lotuses, McLarens, and Williams kits eventually...
