  1. I wonder if there is anyone that uses Bleech-Wite to clean whitewall tires...
  2. Is the van in this set the one Revell is reissuing next year?
  3. I think the AMT Myers Manx dates to the late '60s.
  4. Yes....too many history essays in this thread...show pictures of the new kit!
  5. One detail the movie car had that was distinctive--it had a '71-72 rear bumper.
  6. Johan did the Javelin in '68-69-70, but I don't have any... They are on my grail list along w/ the Ambassador and Rebel of the same years. I have the '80s issue of the Johan '69 AMX, and their '71 and '74 Javelins.. the only '68-69 Javelin model I have is the Revell 1:32nd snap kit.
  7. I have the Skips '55 and '57 Nomad in my to-build stash...the only one of the old Revell Tri-Fives I built was a '56 2dr sedan that I built at age 7...it was my first glue kit...turned out to be a glue bomb, but was definitely a learning experience.
  8. Got a package from my favorite OLD this evening w/ 3 Revells--the '10 Mustang GT convertible and the '02 Camaro SS and '69 Camaro SS convertible reissues---want the LS engine, seats, etc from the '02 to kitbash w/ the '69 to do a Pro-Touring style convertible. Also from eBay got an unbuilt AMT VW Scirocco, one of the kits from back in the day that was never reissued and I was always slightly interested in...
  9. I still see it...a box of cigars. I enjoy a cigar once in a while w/ a single malt scotch or dirty vodka martini...probably going to partake in one next weekend at my company holiday party, since there is a cigar bar at the resort the party is at...
  10. I kind of outgrew watching DOH when I was 12...haven't seen it since then. But I did build the MPC 1:25th and 1:16th scale Chargers and the other kits (Jeep, Cooter's Tow Truck, police car) back in the early '80s...the 1:16th Charger was dissapointing as it was a race car kit w/ a stockish body. Oh well. As an adult years later I realized MPC was just reusing existing tooling for all of these kits (with some new parts), but as a kid the one kit I wished they had done but didn't do was the Boss Hogg Caddy convertible.
  11. There is a 1:24th/1:25th scale diecast. I have one in dark red..it is a Welly IIRC.
  12. Strip the chrome, paint the bumpers and grille black, paint the body white, do it as a worn vintage work truck..
  13. I'm particularly fond of Minichamps 1:43rds....I've seen some of the Neo (American Excellence) brand ones that are pretty interesting also). Some of the Minichamps I have are subjects I've never seen in other scales (like a '69 Mercury Marauder).
  14. I like 1:43rd...have a number of diecast in that scale...most recent ones are a some Ixo Porsche racing cars I got at Rennsport Reunion a couple months ago...
  15. Never had one of these kits...may have to get one, it's so different from what I normally build.
  16. Interesting that it's taken them so long to follow up to the two 48 Chevy kits..those came out, what, 15 years ago?
  17. Funny thing is IIRC it was sold in Europe briefly a couple years ago as a Dodge when they tried marketing Dodges in a few European countries...
  18. The Magnum would have looked good with the Charger nose, never cared for how the headlights wrapped over the top on the Magnum. The Charger is in it's second LX generation now, so I would assume it will still be the Charger in 5 years or so. The compact is getting a new name because the Caliber was considered a dud.
  19. It's now being sold as a Lancia Thema elsewhere in Europe...
  20. The 300 Tourings (wagons) were sold up through '10. There isn't a wagon yet in the 2nd gen LXes. If the 4dr had been called Magnum, I bet it wouldn't have done nearly as well as it has done as a Charger.
  21. Rumor has it the subcompact hatchback will be called Hornet. Have to wait and see..
  22. Ouch...i like the Charger...nice to see Chrysler is still doing large, RWD V8 sedans....better than having the name on some weak FWD model like the crappy car they put the name on in the '80s.
  23. Reminds me, I've been getting AARP invites in the mail since I was 39 a couple years ago....they must be clueless. I have a long way to go until retirement... As far as misplacing glasses, I've had a bad habit of leaving them in the bathroom then going to bed...then get up and fumble around looking for them in the morning...
  24. Wouldn't have worked...Coronet has very little name recognition compared w/ Charger. Likewise for Monaco or Polara... I know the purists squalk over it being a 4dr, but it's a great car overall, IMO. The Charger is a good example of retro modern...very modern car w/ some retro touches like the name and some styling cues.
