  1. Either...though I was specifically thinking of Revell-Monogram.
  2. Does anyone in the know know when Revell will announce their 2nd half 2011 new releases? IIRC from last year and years past, it was always around May 1st....of course, many of the 1st half 2011 new releases are delayed until the 2nd half of the year, but that's expected..
  3. Yeah, they can be addictive...I've been collecting Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica, etc since childhood, later added Johnny Lightning, Greenlight, M2, Siku, etc...I easily have 15k diecast or more...
  4. Sharp build...back when you could tell what kind of a car a NASCAR race car was without reading the brand labels.. I enjoyed NASCAR racing a lot in the '80s.
  5. Very cool build and diorama.
  6. The Avalanche didn't make the playoffs...so I suppose I'll root for the local team (Coyotes) or the hometown team (Penguins).
  7. Interesting...I've seen stuff like this in 1:1 before..reminds me of some the 'Keys Cruisers' or Kruzers I saw in the '80s in the Florida Keys..old rusty cars (usually wagons) w/ the rear bodywork removed and a flatbed added...I remember a mid '70s Torino and a mid '70s Mercury Colony Park..w/ woodgrain.
  8. Too many things this weekend..I'll miss it this year, going to Long Beach tomorrow for the ALMS and Indy Car races this weekend.
  9. I remember getting this kit as an xmas present when I was around 12. I remember I was disappointed by the non-stock chassis, engine compartment, fake dashboard, etc.
  10. My Jeep consistently got 18 mpg in mixed freeway/city/suburbia commute for the last 2 years...now it consistently gets 16 mpg in an all-city commute.
  11. Looks like a Land Rover 90.
  12. Looks like Fujimi is doing a release of this kit soon apparently w/o any decals..
  13. This cab concept reminds me of the Dodge Ram Mega Cab, which is an extended 4dr crew cab, though w/o the quarter window.
  14. Neat..never seen a cab like that...I've seen a couple aftermarket 6 door ones of that generation along w/ 4dr Broncos (badged as a 'Centurion').
  15. 70-72 had different taillights w/ the backup light centered. The front bumper parking lights were different from '70 on also...lots of little differences...a Google or Bing image search turns up lots of pics.
  16. I built this kit back in the day as a teenager..did it in bright red....may have to get another to build in non-stock manner. I have the MPC SVO kits, but have never built them.
  17. Sweet build on the Ferrari engine...I have that Hasegawa 312T in my to-build pile of about 2 dozen 1:20th F1 kits..
  18. Nope, front engine, rear transaxle, like many other sports cars (such as the Corvette). Near perfect 50/50 balance.
  19. Sweet...I'm planning on getting this kit eventually.
  20. Cool...so it has a full engine? Tamiya lately has been doing only the upper half of the the engines on some kits...
  21. Was 70 and sunny here today. I don't mind Phoenix this time of the year...
  22. Picked up one of the new Revell '69 Chevy Nova COPO 427 kits...nice. I had bought resin plain grilles, hoods, bench seat, hubcaps last year to do one of these, but then Revell came out w/ this kit...plan to do a stock COPO, a 6 cyl plain jane, and a beater.. Related to the new Moeibus kit, I saw a 1:1 International Lonestar semi on the freeway this afternoon, 1st one I'd seen in person..was pulling a white trailer w/ NASCAR #16 Trevor Bayne livery, heading to CA for the race this weekend, I assume.
  23. If the traffic wasn't so I would have tried to snap it w/ my phone..dark red, whitewall tires, tan interior w/ the top down, a hoop connected to the B-pillars...
  24. I have stashed away a program from the Joie Chitwood show at the county fairgrounds in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, 1979 or 1980..the ERTL set is pictured in the program. I remember the show being a lot of fun, Camaros, Chevettes, a Corvette or two..
  25. I had a neighbor in S. Florida back in the '80s that had such a conversion..it was a '79 Caddy Coupe De Ville convertible..don't know who did the work, but it was well done.. Speaking of aftermarket convertibles, I've seen two in the last week--an Eldorado (last generation) and a 4dr convertible current-style Caddy DTS..both well done.
