  1. Picked up one of the new Revell '69 Chevy Nova COPO 427 kits...nice. I had bought resin plain grilles, hoods, bench seat, hubcaps last year to do one of these, but then Revell came out w/ this kit...plan to do a stock COPO, a 6 cyl plain jane, and a beater.. Related to the new Moeibus kit, I saw a 1:1 International Lonestar semi on the freeway this afternoon, 1st one I'd seen in person..was pulling a white trailer w/ NASCAR #16 Trevor Bayne livery, heading to CA for the race this weekend, I assume.
  2. If the traffic wasn't so I would have tried to snap it w/ my phone..dark red, whitewall tires, tan interior w/ the top down, a hoop connected to the B-pillars...
  3. I have stashed away a program from the Joie Chitwood show at the county fairgrounds in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, 1979 or 1980..the ERTL set is pictured in the program. I remember the show being a lot of fun, Camaros, Chevettes, a Corvette or two..
  4. I had a neighbor in S. Florida back in the '80s that had such a conversion..it was a '79 Caddy Coupe De Ville convertible..don't know who did the work, but it was well done.. Speaking of aftermarket convertibles, I've seen two in the last week--an Eldorado (last generation) and a 4dr convertible current-style Caddy DTS..both well done.
  5. I think the '57 windshields are different from '55-56 because of this..the cowl looks flatter on the '57, at least w/ the Revell kit bodies..
  6. Brookfield Collectors Guild made a nice 1:25th scale diecast of this, along w/ the Intrepid and New Yorker. No kits or styrene.
  7. The builders didn't paint or foil that trim, apparently. It's not a separate piece like the rear quarter trim. Some of the Revell pics for this kit do show it painted (like the red and white one w/ the custom wheels).
  8. Not sure why they released it and the convertible in Monogram box art..seems very strange to see 1:25th scale Revell kits boxed as Monogram. It always seems odd to me to see 1:25th scale kits labeled as Monogram, which I always associate w/ 1:24th. To add further potential confusion, the old-tool 1:24th Monogram '55 Chevy ht (no stock parts, I think) is also out currently, also shown in black w/ flames on the box art.
  9. I got a box today from HLJ w/ the Tamiya Lotus 78 (1977 livery) and Lotus 79 (1979 Martini livery)...
  10. Nah..just a thread diversion because someone was mistaken.
  11. LoL.. I'm no fan of Budweiser, I prefer American craft beers and various European beers...
  12. That pic is of a '70 kit..never seen that one before..Japanese? There are a couple resin '67s out there..I have the Modelhaus '67, along w/ two each of the AMT '67 and '68 annuals..would definitely like to see a new issue based on the '90s era AMT '67 Mustang.
  13. I've really got to take some off..at 6'0" 250 now, was 185 when I was 30 ten years ago. Too much time sitting on my butt in front of a computer (which my profession entails)..maybe get back into mountain biking or hiking. Trying to take 20 min walks around my neighborhood twice a day, walking the dogs.
  14. I picked that one up a couple weeks ago...I built the original issue about 20 years ago. I picked up a resin 6 pack hood to go with it...thinking a mild street machine build w/ period style mags..
  15. Speaking of Lindberg releases, I wonder if Lindberg is still going to release the drag version of the '64 Belvedere..that looked interesting.
  16. Got the Missing Link resin '76 Fury 4dr conversion parts today...pretty nice. I'm thinking beige.
  17. Great list, Darin. I'd add a '71 Mustang Mach 1 also. For race cars, definitely would like to see some Trans-Am subjects, along w/ Can-Am and more vintage LeMans/endurance racing cars..I have the Fujimi GT40s, 917, 512 and others, but would love to see a Lola T70 in 1:24th (I'm sure Tamiya's 1:12th one is great, but I prefer 1:24th) and others from the '60s-70s...
  18. A blue '68 Hemi Charger. It's marked as Spring 2011. I think after a year or so hiatus, the magazine started back in production last year as a quarterly. Lots of good stuff inside--the original Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, Snake vs Mongoose, Lamborghini 3500GT, Paul Newman's V8 Beetle, etc. Found it at my neighborhood Safeway...
  19. Picked up the latest issue of Motor Trend Classics last week...a lot of good stuff inside.
  20. Saw 3 Smart cars around town today... Maybe they can use this one in a Gone in 60 Seconds sequel..
  21. Googling turns up some examples of build styles of 1:1 early '70s Corollas like this..
  22. Those 'Dayclona' '71 Daytona and Superbird phantoms are pretty cool...I have the parts, plan to build one of each in 1:25th scale..
  23. This week-- Lindberg Charger Police car in Florida Highway Patrol livery Modelhaus parts--chrome trim and interior for '68 Dodge Coronet R/T AMT '59 Mercury Park Lane conv in restorable condition (needs some Modelhaus resto parts)
  24. Looks like a lot of great parts in these kits. So do the different versions only differ in the decals for the specific livery--do all the police car kits have the same police parts (light bar options, wheel options, etc)?
