  1. It's probably a generational thing, but I watched 'American Graffiti' once, didn't think it was all that great. Tried watching 'Two Lane Blacktop', couldn't get through the whole thing...found it unwatchable.
  2. Looks like a low budget 'Fast and the Furious' for the rat rod crowd.
  3. The tall, slab sides has been a styling aspect of all the LX models (300,Charger, Magnum, Challenger). Never cared for the thickness, or the tiny side windows of the 300 and Magnum. But the pure goodness of the RWD V8 nature of these cars make me overlook the chunkyness..
  4. Very cool..I love these mainstreamer conversions.
  5. That Lambo would make a great kit.
  6. Got a MIB unbuilt MPC '78 Firebird Trans Am today...first one I've had molded in white w/ the solid roof. I've had plans for a while to build a Rockford Files car replica, and this is a good starting point. I've built a couple of the later MPC '78 kits (black & gold box art) and they had the t-tops pre cut, IIRC. Also some Missing Link Resin parts, incl. a '77-81 Firebird Formula hood..plan to do a '79 Formula using an MPC '79 T/A kit that's on it's way...
  7. My 1500+ unbuilts..keep adding to the list.
  8. My ex-brother-in-law #1 had one of those, along w/ a TR-6..they seemed to spend more time in the driveway broken than being driven.
  9. I like the Challenger also quite a bit...I sat in a sweet black w/ blue stripe R/T 'Mopar' edition one at the local new car show today. They had a couple of Chargers also, but 2010 ones. Saw the new Durango and Grand Cherokee also..I've also considered a new Grand Cherokee to replace my '00 one.
  10. Dodge has the 2dr market covered w/ the Challenger...couldn't see them having 2 large 2drs...not a big enough market.
  11. I didn't notice the quarters the first time I looked at it, then I realized it on second glance..has the Barracuda style straight-through crease rather than the Challenger hop-up crease...
  12. Probably an option or trim level..the ones in the mags have chrome grill trim. I really like the new styling from what I've seen so far...looking forward to seeing them in person. The Charger is on my shopping list for my next new car...in a world of FWD appliances, there aren't too many RWD choices left...
  13. A cab like that would be cool on a slammed hot rod truck build..
  14. I like the free-standing lights and anti-aerodynamic shape of that weird red one ( a forward leaning windshield? Wild!).
  15. Nice..there is a bright yellow one of these around the corner from me..in decent shape but one door is denty.
  16. The long wheelbase version (like the pic above, with the quarter windows) is still smaller than the Dodge Charger (the Charger's wheelbase is 3 inches longer) or the outgoing Crown Vic. Compared to the '90s US Caprice, it's a small car. In the US, they like the police cars to be as big as possible, and the long wheelbase allows for more interior room. Anyway, back on topic, these cars would make great model kit subjects!
  17. From what I've read, the Caprice PPV is based on the Statesman, the long wheelbase Zeta.. as far as the exterior, it looks like the Middle East market Caprice (Statesman) body... Caprice PPV
  18. The Holdens are pretty sweet...we had a version of the Commodore here in the US for a couple years as the Pontiac G8...a version of the Holden Statesman is coming soon as the Chevy Caprice PPV (police car). The US is rumored also to be getting another Commodore variation again in '12 as the Chevy SS...
  19. Bummer..the '85-86 LX look so much better than the '87-93, IMO...I never liked the dull headlights and taillights of the '87-93 LX.
  20. I'd definitely get one or two of these if kitted...though I prefer the '85-86 LX (used to own an '86) over the '87-93 style. I have a 1:1 '87 GT I've had since new, built the MPC kit to resemble it (the MPC kit has some issues). As far as resin LXes, I have the AAM one in my unbuilt resin collection..
  21. Fujimi makes the 500 Abarth, along w/ the 500 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari.
  22. Loads of current subjects that I can think of that I'd love to see in 1:24th....Lotus Elise and Evora, BMW M3 or M5, various Audis (like the TT, A5/S5, RS4, the gorgeous new A7, A8), various Mercs (the 1st or 2nd gen CLS, CL, E class coupe, maybe an S63 AMG). Some current Porsches would be nice, like the 911S, 911 GT2 RS, or Boxster Spyder. For 1:25th scale American iron, the Caddy CTS-v in sedan, coupe or wagon form would be great, along w/ the new 2011 Dodge Charger R/T and 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The '11 Chevy Caprice PPV would make be a nice new police car kit, along w/ the '11 Ford Taurus Interceptor and the civilian '11 Ford Taurus SHO. For trucks, the Ford Raptor would be great to see.. Revell is going to be doing a '10 Mustang GT a year late, so I'd like to see an '11 GT w/ the new 5.0 engine, and the new Boss 302 version (w/ the Laguna Seca edition parts as optional). Maybe Revell will update their Dodge Challenger to '11 specs to do an '11 SRT8 392.
  23. Got a couple R-M reissues in the mail, the '55 Bel Air conv and '59 Caddy conv. Nice to see the Caddy molded in white..I built original issues of these, have ideas for a couple more. Alas, I forgot the Bel Air had only the continental rear kit, no stock rear bumper..I'll have to swap in bumpers from a '55 Bel Air HT kit... Got the AMT '10 Challenger SRT8 and R/T Classic curbside kits yesterday, nice little variations on their '08 and '09 kits. I hope they or Revell will do an '11 SRT 392 eventually.
  24. From what I've read, this new 'IMC' has nothing to do with the old IMC..just coincidentally/confusingly using the same 3 letters.
  25. Hmm..they both have 4 wheels and are very aggro and pointy looking, but other than that, don't have anything in common...
