Dodge van truck?
Rob Hall replied to RodneyBad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Cool...will be interesting to where it goes... One idea that's been percolating in my head a while is to cut down the cab, convert it to RHD, change the grille and do a British Airways Dodge 50 stair truck like the ones I saw at London Heathrow airport about 10 years ago... -
Beautiful build..great example of the Pro Touring style.

Not looking good for my Steelers in the 4th. Half time was dreadful. Liked the Chrysler ad alot, though. -
I've been buying from the Modelhaus for over 15 years now... they are my go-to source for replacement/repair parts when restoring old builtups, and I've bought a couple dozen of their kits, and plan to buy a couple dozen more.. great products, great customer service, no complaints from me.

For Studies, I'd like to see a Golden Hawk or the beautiful '62 GT Hawk over the ugly bulletnose..

I saw that car up close at the Gooding & Co show last month..rough, but restorable..missing some trim.

The separate decklid nails it as the Revell. Reissued in the last couple of weeks.

Yes...I'd love to see more late '60s and early-to-mid '70s land yachts. My favorite era and genre.

Too old and obscure.

The Modelhaus '67 GPs are really nice...have both of them in my to-build stash, along w/ their '66 ht.

Arizona follows Chicago down the tubes ...

Ya..I did my time in NE Ohio... there were a lot of things I enjoyed about the Cleveland area, but the winter weather wasn't one of them. Of course, AZ has the lousy summers..4+ months of triple digit temps...which is worse? -

Grumbling about the climate and the weather is just human nature. Seems everytime I talk to my Mom in Ohio that's the first thing we talk about. Everywhere I've lived in my life (E. Ohio, SE Michigan, the Florida Keys, Chicago, Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix) has had it's unique weather patterns, highs and lows, ups and downs. As will where I move next will have. That's just the way it is. As Buckaroo Banzai said, 'Wherever you go, there you are'. -

The weather is definitely variable here..very dramatic range of temps and sudden shifts. I remember a lot of wild weather also when I lived in Colorado..40 inch snows, then 60 degrees a couple days later.. -

Yes, about 30 here now...couldn't believe yesterday..only got in the 40s..sunny and windy. -
Also used in a British road racing series..I've seen B&W pics of them on tracks like Brands Hatch w/ '63 Galaxies and Lotus Cortinas, etc... I have restorable builtup AMT '64 and '65 Falcons I got years ago, but they are both convertibles..the only HTs I have are the Model King AF/X ones.

I talked w/ a buddy of mine that lives near downtown Chicago last night...he and his wife have stocked up on food, etc and don't plan to go out until after the storm..they don't have a truck w/ a snowplow, but a Mini convertible and a Prius. -

I bet the local weather guys are getting wild! Snowpacalypse '11!! Stay warm.. I remember vaguely as a kid the Blizzard of '78, was out in rural Eastern Ohio then. Some of biggest snowfall I remember was back in March '04 or '05..had about 45 inches of snow over 2 1/2 days in Denver..didn't go outside for 3 days. Was 40 and sunny a couple days later. -

Don't remind me...3 months until summer here..summer is the season I truly hate in Phoenix...about 5 months of triple digit horror. If I hear 'It's a dry heat' one more time...grrrrrr.... -

I don't miss dealing w/ snow..had some huge storms when I lived in Colorado Springs and Denver.. had a 4x4 SUV daily driver (a Bronco II then a Grand Cherokee), so no problems. Worse though were the NE Ohio and SE Michigan winters before that...in Michigan I had an SUV, but for 6 winters in NE Ohio I had a RWD 4cyl Mustang w/ snow tires on all 4 wheels (my college/grad school winter car)..got around pretty well w/ that w/ a couple bags of concrete mix in the trunk. If my next move is to an area w/ snowy winters, I'll probably get another SUV..probably a new Grand Cherokee, been happy w/ my '00. -
Now, now Marc..no bragging. I have all of those in my stash as well, mint kits, rebuildables, and resin. The idea of these lists is not what was, but what could be..I limited my list to variations of the recent (last 25 years) tooling from Revell..40+ yr old tooling is one thing, but some subjects (like the '65 GTO) would be certainly nice to see done w/ modern tooling...
