  1. Hmmm... good question. About the '37 Ford, I'm sure there was debate about it back in the day on the Usenet newsgroup rec.models.scale, I used to be a regular there. I've been on the internet since '88, back before the WWW...back when when 'archie', 'gopher', and 'telnet' were some of the main programs to access resources on the text-only internet. Rob
  2. Yes, their coverage has been great... I've really enjoyed their F1 and sports car racing coverage this year. A few years ago, I'd given up on Speed--thought it had become the NASCAR channel..
  3. Well, in AZ, you always have to stay hydrated... I always have a bottle of water w/ me (and a cup of coffee in the mornings). I couldn't imagine driving a car w/o cupholders..
  4. That sounds very odd to me, frankly. The Thunderbolts and '70 Ford were reissues of existing tools, this is something previously unreleased. I guess I'll believe it when I see it. Rob
  5. Well, it's not in Revell's catalog for '09 and hasn't been announced for '09, so who knows? I'd like to do a stock one and a beater... And I'm wondering why Revell hasn't announced more new subjects--where's the '10 Camaro SS and '10 Mustang GT and GT500? The new and reissued oldies recently announced are great, but I want modern cars!
  6. Will just have to scratchbuild the armrests and cup holders.. Rob
  7. Please, cut out the drama. It would be nice to see a new stock '32, but it's not going to happen, at least from this tool. Revell obviously intended this to be a street rod only tool, since that is where more demand is (and sales), they probably assumed that AMT had the stock version market covered. You can't always get what you want, that's just life.
  8. Good deal.. I think I've paid more or less that much each for those over the last decade..
  9. Meh. The AMT '32 has been reissued so many times, so there are plenty of kits out there that can be built stock. I've built a couple of them, they look fine to me.
  10. Yes, restos can be quite time consuming and expensive. A friend bought a '70 Mach 1 back in early '02, was found in field, rough, relatively rust free, hadn't run in years. $60k later, and it's still not finished...
  11. I loved seeing the Ferraris, Corvettes and esp. the green Aston Martins in the pits and on the tracks...didn't see much coverage of the Porsches in those classes. The Spyker was a treat to see when it would appear. And what about the Ferrari that lost a tire and wheel in a corner? Fun race overall. I liked the occasional flashbacks to years past, esp. the Ford GT40s, and the Dan Gurney interview.
  12. The question of the tooling will probably keep popping up all the time over the next 20 years, kind of an urban legend. By the way, whatever happened to the building? Torn down? Burned down?
  13. Huh??? Wagoner was a GM lifer...you are thinking of Bob Nardelli who was the Chrysler CEO under Cerebus'-- he came from Home Depot. Back to the original poster, who cares who Glenn Beck promotes--he's just another right-wing talking head nutter like Rush Limbaugh.
  14. By the way, I like the Audi R8 ad in Maranello..very clever.
  15. Any or all would work for me...esp. the B400..such a cool bodystyle.
  16. Maybe they can come up with a deal to pair SAAB dealers w/ IKEA stores..would be interesting to see SAABs at my local IKEA. My only experiences with SAABs was back in the '90s, my sister had a '92 900 Turbo for a few years, had a variety of problems, neat car, though.
  17. I'm dissapointed Speed interrupted coverage this morning to show NA$CAR....ugh.
  18. Sharp..I like the white and blue color combo..
  19. Interesting...never seen anything like that Mack kitted..is that an old Monogram tool?
  20. This past weekend in Ohio, I had my '87 Mustang GT out, and pulled up with the left side facing the pump, as I would in my Jeep. Alas, the Mustang has the door on the right side (hadn't driven it in a while). Later the same day, I drove my '69 Mustang, which has the gas cap on the rear. Then the next day, I had to fill up my Town Car rental, which had the door on the right side also.
  21. Difficult question. Of the cars I've owned, the Fox ('87) Mustang GT and E36 ('96) BMW M3...I love both cars, for various reasons. Of cars I haven't owned but admire, too many to list.
  22. Too much work, since AMT has the nice new tool '57...which they should reissue. A convertible or Nomad would be nice, though!
  23. Yes, such it is...I spent $125 on a mint in box AMT '66 a few years ago, but I'm glad to see the new one also.
  24. As far as the Cutlass--I think this is the first stock Olds that Revell has ever done, as far as I can think of. I've ideas for a few...stock H/O, stock 442, ht conversion, maybe a beater.. Looking forward to 3 of the '66 Impalas (though I have the AMTs), 1 stock, 1 street, 1 Biscayne conversion with the MCW parts.. Though I have a resin Hemi Dart, I'm definitely down for another Dart variation..
  25. That's some very cool detail work in small scale! The only model in any scale I've seen of a GW is the beautiful one Auto Art made in 1:18th diecast a few years ago. I'd love to see one in 1:25th..always liked those Jeeps. I'm partial to Jeep wagons since my daily driver is an '00 Grand Cherokee.
