I have yet to see that issue here in Denver...the local hobby shop still has the previous issue (chopper on the cover). They don't have the latest issue of SA (February) yet either.....

Anyone seen them yet (inside the box) ?

Nice..less trucky looking than the current model. Well, at least Revell didn't do like they did with the Impala police car (released the older style in a kit after the restyle had come out)..

Been a slow year for me...started about 20 kits, finished zero, bought 75 or so new kits, maybe 20 old kits to restore. I spent way too much time on Internet message boards/forums talking about models rather than actually working on them...

I hope Don can put together a catalog--even just a 1-sheet listing... his website is out of date and ebay listings seem to be the only way to see what he currently has. I have a bunch of his parts and a Challenger body..great stuff!

It's a big beast, beautiful in that wonderfully wierd sort of way many late '50s cars are.. The '61-69 Continental is probably my favorite Lincoln design.. I'd love to see some later Lincolns kitted--the Mark III, Mark IV, Mark V, and the '80s and '90s Town Cars like the ones my late father drove..

Speaking of that kit, I'd love to find a larger diameter set (maybe 19") of those Halibrands..

Very nice build..those MPC '70s Impalas are some of my favorite kits.

Yeah, there was some contractual issue with the previous plant in St. Therese, Quebec...I've read the new car will most likely be built at Oshawa, Ontario with the new '09 RWD Impala (both the Camaro and Impala will be built on variations of the new Holden 'Zeta' platform that the new '07 Holden Commodore and Caprice use).

I think the reality of things is it does take time to develop and engineer a new car on a new platform...and all the logics of getting a plant set up to build it, suppliers on-line to build components, etc.. I wouldn't want GM rushing it and getting something poorly done to market..

As far as the front clip goes, I think the SRT8 difference is the lower fascia. I haven't compared the two kits yet, but it will be interesting to see how the body width, etc measures up..

Ahh..that's what I thought they were..I looked at using the similar style optional wheels from the Revell '96 Impala SS, but they look too small..I think the 'Vette ones are the same style but larger diameter...I'll have to look for another '59 Vette..that kit would be nice to see reissued...

There have been a couple in the past, nothing available currently AFAIK.

Clean build..the interior looks well detailed also...I love those Tamiya Mercs..

Looking good..I have that kit and the stock kit in my to-build closet. It's too bad Tamiya didn't do a 4dr of that vintage (like a 420, 500, or 560 SEL).. those were my favorite luxury cars of the Big 80s..

Sharp build...what kit are the wheels from?

I have 2 so far...planning on doing a 'stock' coupe and convertible, and maybe a race car using Corvette C5R innards as a starting point...

The Duster is a great donor kit for the engine, I think I've probably bought 1/2 dozen just for the engine to use in other Mopars.

Heh-heh...I was just getting ready to post my review but you beat me to it..picked it up at the LHS about 20 min ago. It's pretty sweet...chassis parts molded in black, engine parts in silver, interior parts in gray, body etc in white..I like how the windshield & headlight covers are clear, but the side and rear glass are correctly tinted. After a quick look through, it's a good effort by Revell, IMHO. I'm going to do one stock and use my other one (on pre-order from an online vendor) as an engine donor--I want this engine for a '70 Challenger tuner-style like the orange car in the Jan Mopar Action mag...maybe do the Magnum curbside then. Also, I saw at the LHS that the 2n1 '70 Firebird T/A is out...

This issue has a lot of parts--stock, drag, custom..

What's vinyl? Long before my time, I'm afraid...I have about 20 years worth of CDs, but I've ripped most of them onto my computer and iPod, and my modeling room is my home office, so the rare times that I do model, I listen to music off the computer (I have a nice pair of speakers and a subwoofer for it). Mostly '80s-present rock/alternative rock, some classic rock, some jazz and blues, a little hip-hop..

Yeah, Hobbytowns are usually pretty steep...the last time I bought kits from one was when they had a going out of business sale..I picked up the Trumpeter Novas for $12 apiece and a bunch of AMT kits at $5 each then.
