  1. Some pretty cool builds there...I esp. like the 300C variations!
  2. Speaking of singlecabs, my manager has a red '62 with a Porsche 356 engine..sweet truck. (he has an eclectic group of cars besides the truck-- a '95 Tahoe 2dr, '07 Saab 9-3 wagon, a New Beetle Diesel, and an '06 Corvette Z06).
  3. Good description..I buy much faster than I build...I buy 5-10 kits per month but only finish 1 or 2 per year lately.. so I have about 250 built kits, 250 'used' builtups to restore, and 1000+ unbuilts. I keep the box and instructions for all my kits.
  4. Got mine yesterday..dissapointed to see the bull bar molded into the front bumper. I have an original issue molded in yellow somewhere in my stash, and I don't think it had the bull bar molded to the bumper.. I'll have to swap the tires for something nicer and fill in the holes on the body, but it should build up to a neat kit.
  5. One thing I've noticed about this kit is so many of the builtups I've seen are lacking the quarter windows, which is incorrect since they don't roll down on the 1:1. I guess many of these builders are too young to have seen them in 1:1 back in the day. The quarter window is a fiddy fitting piece, though...
  6. Ah...he's looking for an 'outlaw' style hood. Lookout Resins has one, and I think PSF Resins or Drag City may also offer one for the '69...I've bought parts from all 3 on ebay with no problems.. I don't have their website links handy, but an ebay search turned up one by Lookout..
  7. Mmm..several of the Revell/Monogram '69 Camaro kits came with the cowl induction hood..the Z-28 issues, the convertibles, etc...
  8. The latest I heard from HH (as of Monday) was that the Challenger and Foose kits have been cancelled. It makes sense..if RC2 is trying to sell off AMT, they aren't going to invest in new tooling that they won't make an ROI on..
  9. Add a decade and it makes an interesting comparison also...'68 Caprice coupe vs. '68 Coupe de Ville..similar rooflines between them.
  10. Lots of great builds posted here... I'll admit to being a general muscle car fan---though I grew up in a Ford family (and was born in '70), I love 'em all---Fords, GMs, Mopeys, AMCs...
  11. Got mine tonight...did a quick read through over take out L&L Hawaiian BBQ (yummy!). Looks like a good issue!
  12. Maybe he can post it on here.. or the HH message board, he seems to be well-recieved there.
  13. I thought I saw a post this morning from David Burket (The Model King) about his upcoming 2007 releases..incl. the '70 Wildcat. I can't find it now...maybe it wasn't this forum but the SA forums? I know it wasn't on the Hobby Heaven board or the AF one.. Or maybe I imagined it.. I'm too young for Alzheimers.
  14. Those '58s are neat...my folks had a '58 Mercury Monterey 4dr when new, about 12 years before I was born..I've seen a couple of pics of it..quite a big car, bigger than the '80s/90s Lincoln Town Cars my folks later drove, I think...
  15. Interesting..until I compared the kit wheels with pics of the real thing, I thought they were made that way...I'll have to fill 'em, since I was going to strip them and paint them aluminum anyway (the show car's wheels weren't chromed).
  16. I have yet to see that issue here in Denver...the local hobby shop still has the previous issue (chopper on the cover). They don't have the latest issue of SA (February) yet either.....
  17. Anyone seen them yet (inside the box) ?
  18. Nice..less trucky looking than the current model. Well, at least Revell didn't do like they did with the Impala police car (released the older style in a kit after the restyle had come out)..
  19. Been a slow year for me...started about 20 kits, finished zero, bought 75 or so new kits, maybe 20 old kits to restore. I spent way too much time on Internet message boards/forums talking about models rather than actually working on them...
  20. I hope Don can put together a catalog--even just a 1-sheet listing... his website is out of date and ebay listings seem to be the only way to see what he currently has. I have a bunch of his parts and a Challenger body..great stuff!
  21. It's a big beast, beautiful in that wonderfully wierd sort of way many late '50s cars are.. The '61-69 Continental is probably my favorite Lincoln design.. I'd love to see some later Lincolns kitted--the Mark III, Mark IV, Mark V, and the '80s and '90s Town Cars like the ones my late father drove..
  22. Speaking of that kit, I'd love to find a larger diameter set (maybe 19") of those Halibrands..
  23. Cool...any ideas on the wheels? I love the wheels on the 1:1..
  24. Very nice build..those MPC '70s Impalas are some of my favorite kits.
