  1. Yes, the Pearl Jam and U2 concert...had a great time. 48 hours on Oahu, driving around in a red Mustang convertible from Hertz..we had a great time. Will have to go back again and spend a week or so.. what a beautiful place, took a hike at Diamond Head, drove around the coast, tried various local restaurants (L&L BBQ, Zippys, Keos), walked on the beach. Seems like kind of a blur now.
  2. I'm getting in Friday at noon..leaving Sunday at 3, back to Phoenix by midnight, flying home to Denver Monday morning and back at work by noon... Kind of crazy, flying 7000 miles round trip for a concert, but that's how I am..
  3. I'm going to be in Honolulu this weekend, anything interesting for car modelers?
  4. This is pretty old news..they had the Turbine and Rambler and that site a couple of years ago...
  5. Looking good... I've started on a shortbed and longbed conversion myself..I think the hardest part would be modifying th bed floor and inner sidewalls...so the approach I'm taking it is to use the shortbed and longbed from the AMT '93 kits, cut off the outer fenders, and attach '79 outer fenders (with the same kind of cuts as in the first picture)..the dimensions line up pretty well so far.. I'm not sure how the short and long wheelbases on a '73-79 differ from an '80-96, but the chassis of the '93s fit well under the '79 cab (with some trimming of the inner fenders).
  6. Some one on another board said RMR resin made one, not sure. I'd like to see standard 6- and 8- foot boxes for this kit. A Super Cab and Crew Cab would be neat also.
  7. The Blazer snap was an MPC kit from the late '70s..I have one molded in yellow..pretty nice curbside.
  8. The RR part is 1:25th for the MPC Firebirds, though..probably wouldn't fit the Monogram 1:24th.
  9. Hmmm... there are a couple on there of interest to me.. I can use another '93 Mustang Cobra for parts, I've never had the Mach III kit, that could be interesting to customize, never had the '82 Corvette 'Collectors Edition' either.
  10. I was born in '70 and started with snap kits around 1976 and glue kits in 1978. This is definitely a golden age, compared to then, IMHO...the wide availability of new tooling and reissues, online point-and-click ordering, lots of aftermarket parts, easy availability of imported kits online, ebay for old kits, etc...
  11. Yes, that's it..I have all four also..lots of paint chips..
  12. Speaking of Galant Ramda, I have a 1:64th scale Matchbox diecast of this from childhood..IIRC, the packaging listed it as a Dodge Challenger, but the base says 'Mitsubishi Galant Eterna'.
  13. That's cool..I wouldn't mind having one of those...I remember the 1:1, always liked the roofline. It would be fun to do one as a phantom '78 Challenger R/T with Volare wheels and a 360 V8...
  14. PSF Resin makes a nice '70 Monte cowl induction hood. I got it off ebaY last month. I have some old NASCAR-style wheels in my parts box, I plan to do one in a similar manner to the movie car...
  15. I hope Revell does a kit of Challenger. I've seen the prototype at a car show, it looks great in person.. I'm looking forward to seeing the production version in 1:1 eventually. The original Challenger is probably my favorite vintage Mopar--saw a nice dark blue '70 R/T drive by my office a couple hours ago when I went to lunch (it really stood out amongst the usual SUV/Camry/Accord/BMW/Audi traffic around here).
  16. Me too, I especially like the rear view..though I really don't like the front end (the overhanging thingy below the grille).
  17. The new Car and Driver has an article on the building of this car..pretty interesting story...built for an NYC financial whiz, basically used the last unsold Enzo (from a Beverly Hills Ferrari dealer) plus $4mil to build...
  18. Lots of familiar names here from 'there'. I like the GTO and Camaro, Dan..what are the wheels on the Camaro?
  19. I'm from "there" also, been a regular the last 6 years..just starting here...also a lurker on AF and the SA board... I'll still hang out "there" but likely post less..
