Looking at the pics on HLJ, looks like it's going to be a great kit...went ahead an preordered mine (I already have 5 other kits on order w/ HLJ, but what the heck...)

There are usually a bunch of the Hendrix '56 Ford conversions (2dr sedans, wagons) on ebay..I've got their '53 Ford 2dr sedan and it's pretty nice..

I have the Jimmy Flintstone '61 Olds 88 2dt ht...I think the body is cleaner than the R&R one...with Modelhaus chrome, it looks pretty good. I have the R&R '62 Olds Starfire ht, and it's fairly rough, esp. around the taillight area.

Those are some wild Fords..very creative. I have a couple 'phantom' builds in mind using the '60 Starliner roof... I want to use the Starliner roof on a rough '61 Mercury convertible I have in my stash, to do a phantom Marauder, and one on a '59 Ford body (or use the '57 Ford roof).

I picked one of these up today..sweet kit.. and I'm a casual hot rod fan, more into '60s-70s subjects... I'll probably have to get two of these, want to do them w/ the wire wheels and flathead. TThe steelies w/ hubcaps and whitewalls in the '31 Tudor kit might look good also. The 302 I have uses for with some '70s Mustangs, and the 5-spoke mags definitely will work w/ '60s muscle cars. One interesting factoid about this kit and the 30 Ford Woody (picked one up today also) is that they box art has the older style, multi-color Revell logo--so they've gone back to this instead of the simplified, all blue logo I've seen on other recent (last year or so) kits?

Nice sunset pic... I've been to Hawaii (Oahu) a couple of times...want to go back and explore the other islands. I spent my teenage years in the Florida Keys, so I know how special it can be living on the ocean on an island (though the Keys are connected by roads). I enjoy living near the mountains now, but the winters are a drag..at some point in my life I want to be back to living at sea level, on the ocean.

Yes, unfortunate...they had some Rambler parts I was interested in to restore a Johan '66..

Definitely... an '85-86 LX notchback would be great..then I could do a replica of the 1:1 I had back in the day.. Here's a pic from around 1990 when I had both my '87 GT and '86 LX (the LX was totalled in '94, still have the '87, stored now in the barn in the background of that pic along w/ my '69).

Yes, any pics would be helpful for building these kits. I've never seen one of these in 1:1.

One idea I had for doing both a wide shortbed and wide, standard wheelbase longbed is to take the beds from the AMT '92-95 pickup kits (the bed width and wheelbases seem correct), remove the outer fenders from the '90s beds, and then shorten/rearrange the '79 outer rear fenders to fit on the '90s beds...with this approach, I don't have to rework the inside parts of the '79 bed. The '79 cab also fits the '92 chassis, so I may use the the '92-95 chassis so I don't have to shorten '79 chassis for the right wheelbase. Strange thoughts, but I think this approach will work for me...though it may be a long time before I finish them.

Wow...that is neat..brings back memories. When I was around 8-9, a neighbor had one, dark blue. I remember going for a ride in it once...car sat very low.

I have the yellow box art SSP version, but may have to get the new one for the wheels and Duece grille...neat changes. In the past, I was never much of a vintage hot rod kit builder, but they've grown on me lately...

Cool...you are quite the master of bodywork. I have a rough AMT '68 Mustang that has the rear quarters wheelwells up in a similar way....I plan to eventually fix it using a donor '68 Shelby body..

I have about 5000 songs in iTunes on my computer, and my home office is also my modeling room...so I put on a playlist with the volume relatively low for background noise when I model....a little bit of everything...classical, jazz, classic rock, alternative rock, metal, ambient, electronica, a little country and hip-hop.

I used to have one also ('86)... I don't recall the decklid/rear quarter tops sloping that much in profile..

Revell announced one recently, '87, I think. Assumed to be a styrene bodied version of the diecast lowrider that was announced last year and cancelled..
