  1. I think those were cancelled...again.
  2. Speaking of MK IIIs, Johnny Lightning came out with a nice little 1:64th diecast one this year, first time I've ever seen one in diecast. I have a tiny Lindberg plastic kit of one from back in the day. The MK III seems like a natural for The Modelhaus, they have been getting into '70s Fords lately with the '70 Country Squire & Country Sedan wagons and '72 LTD ht....I need to get all of those. Maybe Paul Hettick (whom I believe mastered the '72 LTD) will do one eventually... The '50s cars don't interest me that much, but late '60s through mid '70s big cars are a favorite genre of mine...being a child of the '70s, I remember seeing those cars around all the time.
  3. I'd be surprised if you could find any rental car in the US with a manual...Americans by and large don't/can't drive sticks.
  4. Sharp..I have to get around to building my '68 and '69 El Camino kits eventually.
  5. Yes, that I would like.. I started converting a couple of the '06 kits to convertibles, haven't finished them. I'd like to do GT500 and GT-H convertibles eventually also.
  6. Very cool..I love those old MPC van kits...I have a bunch in my to-build stash.
  7. Wow...I have seen a car like that in real life...a buddy in high school in the mid '80s had one, a '73 or '74, same color, 360 IIRC, white interior, Cragars. It was a bit rusty and paint faded from the S. Florida sun. Saw him at the 20th reunion last month, he has a couple Dodge diesel trucks and a wild '75 Dart Sport w/ a 440 now.
  8. The GT-H used 17" Mustang GT optional wheels, so they should be the same size as the 17" base GT wheels in the '06 kit.
  9. That Vette is going to be sharp. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
  10. I ordered the Shelbys from Evers Toy Store yesterday, hope to have them by the end of the week. Looking forward to the KR and Bullitt versions.
  11. Yes, saw it, was there in person this year. Wow. What a car, what a show...incredible selection of cars this year...
  12. Along with the ZR1, I'd like to see the new CTS-v, G8 GXP, and Solstice GXP tooled up...plenty of new Mustang kits out and coming, lots of modern Mopars, but not much of current GM subjects out there.
  13. They are a lot of fun... I've had my 30gb for about 3 years, but have filled it up, over 6000 songs and about 100 or so podcasts at a time. I enjoy the podcasts, as there are a lot of free goodies out there, automotive news from Autoblog, tons of tech related content from CNET and ZDNET, along w/ regular news podcasts from CNN and the BBC.. I need a higher capacity model. I have about 500 CDs in my 20+ year collection, and have burned about 75% of 'em onto my laptop and then on to the iPod. One thing you have to be careful about is synching between computers and backing up your collection...it's easy to wipe out everything if you do it wrong.
  14. I've seen the box art for the Revell AG one on ebay, but have yet to see the US Revell box art...there was a strange B&W pic (B&W ad in 2008?) in the current SA for a KR, but I assumed that is a separate release from the GT500 and GT-H issues...
  15. Maybe one of the Revell 4th gen Camaro or Firebird kits?
  16. Cool...looking forward to all of these. Hopefully, my usual online vendor will have the Shelbys listed soon.
  17. Ah-hah...so that is the source of that quote...I've heard my buddy Steve say it for about 10 years now, never knew the source.
  18. The '68 AMT annuals and '71 MPC annuals (like the GTX, with real car artwork) are some of my favorites...as far as recent, I've been a fan of Fujimi's minimalist box art on Ferrari kits...
  19. I've never thrown any kit boxes out...I keep the box to store the kit in when it's built. I keep everything...
  20. Interesting...so the price has gone up. I got my Tamiya GT-R from HLJ in June, it was about $45 with shipping, IIRC.
  21. That's cool...aren't they planning on releasing a box (cargo) trailer of some sort also?
  22. The 2002 would be a great kit subject. It would have fit nicely into Tamiya's vintage kit series. I'd love to see some vintage Mercs also in 1:24, like a 'pagoda roof' W113 SL, a '60s 300SEL 6.3 (or one of the related coupes or convertibles), or a late '70s 450SEL 6.9.
  23. Yes, I'd love to see more of the neat 'disco era' personal luxury coupes...remember them quite well from my childhood in the '70s. Revell did a nice job with their Monte Carlo, would have liked to have seen more from that era kitted, like the Grand Am, Grand Prix Can Am, '73 Chevelle SS, Laguna, '76-77 Cutlass Supreme & 442, ;73 Buick Gran Sport, etc..
  24. Yes, forgot about the Chevelle...UPS delivered the Chevelle & 2 of the Novas to me tonight... I'm lovin' the Nova...great detail...the Chevelle is a nice update to an oldie also.
  25. Looking good... I wouldn't be surprised if Revell didn't do a BM Nova as a varation on the new kit, after all, they did BM Corvette and Camaro kits..
