Let's see... I'll need 1 '70 Super Bee--need an extra stock one to use w/ the Modelhaus '70 4dr Coronet. I have plenty of '60 Fords in my stash, but probably can find a reason for another. I have the original issue '80 MC and 4 of the recent reissues, don't need more. I have a couple of '49 Fords and the original issue of the '51 Chevy conv. in my stash, so I'm good there. The Chevy Titan would be neat, as I have the GMC Astro.

Ya, I'd love to see all of those..there are so many modern subjects I'd love to see kitted in 1:24th. Others I'd love to see incl. the Bugatti Veyron, Bentley Continental GT, various current Mercs (SL AMG, CLK, CLS,S-class, CL), BMWs (M3,M5,M6), and Audis..(S4,S5,S8,TT). Definitely many vintage subjects I'd also love to see kitted as well...Ferrari Lusso, reissues of various Italeri Ferraris like the 250 California, early '50s Bentley Continental, late '60s Jag XJ6, late '60s Rolls Royce Corniche conv., etc...

That is a sweet Coupe de Ville. I love the old Caddies... I wish the Modelhaus or someone would tool up a 1:25th '71-76 Coupe de Ville, the last of the huge Caddies.

I also hang out at Automotive Forums, Hobby Talk, Spotlight Hobbies (formerly Hobby Heaven Message Board), and Scale Auto. All have interesting model car content.

I got the TR and the Tamiya Merc 600SEL AMG for $70 incl. shipping from HLJ, so $35 each incl. shipping isn't bad. Of course, the exchange rate has been changing a lot lately.

Yeah, I remember building their '79 Mustang kits (Monroe Turbo, MacLaren) and '79 Trans Am...the chassis and engine detail was very generic... the tires were wierd and squishy. After the 1:32nd scale snap kits I built as a kid in the mid '70s, the first glue kit I built was the Revell 'Bad Dream' '56 Chevy around 1978, followed by the aformentioned Mustangs and Firebird. It wasn't until the late '80s and the Revell-Monogram era that I paid attention to Revell kits again... ('69 Camaros, '89 T-Bird & Cougar, '88 Grand Prix, etc..)

Cool..I should be getting mine soon (got the shipping email from HLJ). Alas, it will be going straight to the storage unit after a quick lookie-see, as I'm going to be busy busy busy over the next few weeks w/ my move.

Good idea about the Cragars... One variation I want to do is a plain Sportsroof w/ the flat hood, and those wheels would work nicely...I was trying to think of some good 1:24th 1970s style aftermarket wheels..

I guess they are hubcaps, then.. I know that the wheels on my 1:1 '69 Sportsroof are 14's (steel slotted wheels w/ aluminum trim rings and center caps). Besides the Magnum 500s and the other wheels in the kit, in 1:1 there was also another '70 Mach 1 wheel style that has center caps and trim rings similar to the '69, but on a different slotted steel wheel (kind of like the wheels in the MPC '70 & '71 Cyclone kits). A 4th wheel possibility are the trim rings and large center caps design more commonly associated w/ the '71-73 Mustang, but apparently also used in '70...

Speaking of 'OG', I worked with some people from a software company about 10 years ago called 'Object Guild' and they went around referring to themselves as being 'OG'...heh-heh..

One thing I wondered about those 'simulated alloy' wheels--are they hubcaps? I've never really looked closely at them in 1:1... I'll probably build one with these wheels, and another with something different...

Maybe the aftermarket will do a set of the stock valvecovers...I know SMBC has a complete resin 351C, don't know if they offer the valve covers separately.

If you guys want to argue about this, take it off the forum...I think this is the wrong place for such arguments..

Picked one up this afternoon...seems pretty nice..lots of parts...two interior buckets (Mach 1 vs. Boss 302 trim), two sets of seats, two hoods, two tail panels, a separate chrome tree for the Mach 1 (side trim, wheels, etc), two engines. Decals w/ the Mach 1 and Boss graphics (Boss graphics in white and black, Mach 1 in black only) and wood trim for the dash are provided... the new parts look great at first glance..

Same here..I got an HLJ shipping notice email yesterday for the TR, a Tamiya AMG Merc, and a couple sets of Aoshima wheels..sweet.

I saw about Paul Frere on Winding Road yesterday...I've read R&T for 30+ years and remember his writings.. sad to hear about Boyd as well.

One thing I've thought about doing is trying to make a '69 Galaxie grille from a '69 Fairlane grille (from the AMT Torino Cobra kit). The '69 Galaxie grille looks a lot like a wider version of the Fairlane grille...

That's a pretty sweet wagon...I'll have to order one... he's mastering a '72 LTD 2dr ht now (saw it posted on the other board recently). When I build the wagon, I'll probably use the hubcaps from the '69 XL kit..they are more plain.

I had the same thought about kitbashing the Revell kits..I started doing that myself about 10 years ago but never finished it...I should have bought the AAM resin kit when it was available, was supposed to be nice.

I still see it around in hobby shops and on ebay...I think Revell has dropped many of their 1:25th diecasts, and have been converting many of them to plastic kits (like the '58 Impala and the upcoming '68 Mustang, '70 Challenger and Subaru, for example).

I got the AMT '27 Ford Police car the other day..neat kit.
