  1. No sure what my problem was there..ended up creating a new user id, couldn't unlock my old id....am using Firefox 2.0.0.14 on my new Mac Book Pro (4gb ram, 2.6ghz, scary fast). Not sure if I like the new forum format there, though.
  2. Interesting...my usual online vendor has the Charger in stock for $12.95 and the R8 for $12.10, same prices I paid when I preordered them. I checked my LHS last weekend, and they didn't even have the new Mach 1 yet (their stock seemed a bit behind).
  3. I haven't been able to login yet...the site claims you can reuse your existing profile, but it doesn't seem to work for me with Firefox. I don't use IE (and esp. now that I've gone to a Mac).
  4. Cool..I still remember seeing a new one on the lot as a kid walking to school past Montgomery Pontiac, in Steubenville, Ohio. That's a subject that I've long thought would make a nice kit.
  5. Nice to hear about the steelies and dog dish hubcaps... I have a couple of the Landy '68s and one of the MPC '68s, but I definitely have ideas for 2-3 of this revised reissue.
  6. Ah, nice..just in time for my birthday. Sweet.
  7. Cool..... I can see myself doing several--stock small block SS, big block SS, drag car, beater (maybe like the car in Beverly Hills Cop), and stealth car (like the green one in Hot Rod mag in the last year--mild on the outside, wild under the hood)..
  8. Hendrix Resin has several '56 Ford wagons..they appear on ebay frequently. I think R&D Unique used to do a '68 Mustang CS, not sure if it's still available or not.
  9. So what all is included? From the pic, I see 7 engines and a T-bucket body. I assume the tool chests, broom, drill press etc are not included?
  10. Looks like the Modelhaus now has a Country Squire version also! I wonder if it has woodgrain on the sides..
  11. Very nice...I have a 3-kit parts bash in mind for the Allison Thunderbird myself...I have an original issue '69 TBird kit that the body is very rough on (glue spots, no suspension, and someone removed most of the stock trim)...I figure I'll use '65 Ford suspension, the Allison kit body and chrome, the original interior, chassis and engine, and Modelhaus wheels and tires...
  12. I wondered about the code names...after the R34, the Skyline has continued with the V35 and V36 generations (sold in the US as the 1st gen Infiniti G35 and now the 2nd gen G35/G37, respectively), and the new GT-R is the R35, a separate model from the Skyline. Wikipedia article on Nissan Skyline
  13. I haven't heard anything yet...I would think Fujimi would do one eventually (it seems Tamiya has given up on new kits). I saw the GT-R on display (RHD model) at the Denver Auto Show today, it's an impressive design...
  14. It's pretty nice...I got one a few years ago, plan to do a plain Fairlane coupe.
  15. Let's see... I'll need 1 '70 Super Bee--need an extra stock one to use w/ the Modelhaus '70 4dr Coronet. I have plenty of '60 Fords in my stash, but probably can find a reason for another. I have the original issue '80 MC and 4 of the recent reissues, don't need more. I have a couple of '49 Fords and the original issue of the '51 Chevy conv. in my stash, so I'm good there. The Chevy Titan would be neat, as I have the GMC Astro.
  16. Ya, I'd love to see all of those..there are so many modern subjects I'd love to see kitted in 1:24th. Others I'd love to see incl. the Bugatti Veyron, Bentley Continental GT, various current Mercs (SL AMG, CLK, CLS,S-class, CL), BMWs (M3,M5,M6), and Audis..(S4,S5,S8,TT). Definitely many vintage subjects I'd also love to see kitted as well...Ferrari Lusso, reissues of various Italeri Ferraris like the 250 California, early '50s Bentley Continental, late '60s Jag XJ6, late '60s Rolls Royce Corniche conv., etc...
  17. That is a sweet Coupe de Ville. I love the old Caddies... I wish the Modelhaus or someone would tool up a 1:25th '71-76 Coupe de Ville, the last of the huge Caddies.
  18. I also hang out at Automotive Forums, Hobby Talk, Spotlight Hobbies (formerly Hobby Heaven Message Board), and Scale Auto. All have interesting model car content.
  19. I got the TR and the Tamiya Merc 600SEL AMG for $70 incl. shipping from HLJ, so $35 each incl. shipping isn't bad. Of course, the exchange rate has been changing a lot lately.
  20. Mine came today from HLJ along with the Tamiya Merc 600SEL AMG. Sweet.
  21. Yeah, I remember building their '79 Mustang kits (Monroe Turbo, MacLaren) and '79 Trans Am...the chassis and engine detail was very generic... the tires were wierd and squishy. After the 1:32nd scale snap kits I built as a kid in the mid '70s, the first glue kit I built was the Revell 'Bad Dream' '56 Chevy around 1978, followed by the aformentioned Mustangs and Firebird. It wasn't until the late '80s and the Revell-Monogram era that I paid attention to Revell kits again... ('69 Camaros, '89 T-Bird & Cougar, '88 Grand Prix, etc..)
  22. Cool..I should be getting mine soon (got the shipping email from HLJ). Alas, it will be going straight to the storage unit after a quick lookie-see, as I'm going to be busy busy busy over the next few weeks w/ my move.
  23. Good idea about the Cragars... One variation I want to do is a plain Sportsroof w/ the flat hood, and those wheels would work nicely...I was trying to think of some good 1:24th 1970s style aftermarket wheels..
