  1. Yes, I switched to a Mac Book Pro about a year ago...still have a Windows laptop, but the Mac is main machine... they are the best...rock solid, easy to use, more than powerful enough for what I need. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Speaking of 'winter closing in', here, it's the opposite---winter is is the nice time of the year, time to get outside. Summer in Phoenix is time to stay inside on the computer (or outside in the pool)....I'm looking forward to winter to spend more time outside, do grilling, etc..
  2. I wonder what happened to the Lindberg..they had announced a couple other Dodge concepts also..haven't seen any release dates or anything about them..
  3. I think I've seen resin '57 Buicks and Oldses, were there promos made of them back then? I recall a '56 Olds promo from Johan, but haven't seen '57s.
  4. I had heard rumours about the Buick on another message board. I seem to recall rumours like this a few years ago involving Galaxie Ltd..that could be interesting..
  5. I preordered one myself..their wasn't a choice of colors, so who knows if it will be Black, Orange, or Silver.. will be fun to have it arrive in the mail out of the blue!
  6. Looks like an interesting kit. I wish RoG or someone would tool up a modern XK like this:
  7. Ah, darn..I was in Pittsburgh a month too early...was back there and in E. Ohio visiting family over Labor Day weekend.
  8. Yup..watched it last night..hadn't seen it in a few years. Love that beater Torino the Dude drives..
  9. "Yes, probably a vagrant slept in the car. Or maybe just used it as a toilet and moved on"
  10. I have a lot of interests... car magazine collecting, diecast collecting (I have an extensive collection of Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica, Siku, Johnny Lightning, Corgi, Greenlight, Dinky, etc), music (collecting CDs, going to concerts), movies, home theater, computers (since software engineering is my profession, it spills over into my free time), travel (reading about places to go, then going), dining out (not much of a cook, but I love to eat), and driving my 1:1 cars.
  11. That's pretty funny..but they forgot to include a spork.
  12. Interesting...the RoG '06 GT I have is molded in white (red on the box art).
  13. Revell is doing one, and AMT is doing a promo. Supposed to be out later this fall or winter.
  14. For the last 10 years, I've alternated between being self-employed (1099), having my own LLC for corp-to-corp contracts, doing W2 gigs through a contracting firm, and normal regular corporate employee... there are pros and cons to each type of arrangement... I do like W2 contracting for now as I don't have to do my own health insurance and payroll taxes, and still get a better hourly rate than I would with a normal salaried corporate cubicle dweller position.
  15. Much nicer box art on the RoG packaged ones...same tooling otherwise, I assume. I have one, the '06 Mustang GT in RoG packaging, IIRC, the only difference I could find was some undersized EU style number plates on the decal sheet. I'd love to see the RoG style box art on normal US Revell boxes...I like the Colorado backgrounds on the RoG '66 Shelby and the GT500..
  16. Very cool..
  17. Cool...the concept reminds me of a tiny Hot Wheels 'Zowee' I have from childhood..
  18. I knew what was going on, because I've seen him pull this stunt on other forums..
  19. Yeah, it's too bad Revell hasn't done an '05+ convertible... I'll have to scratchbuild 3-4 of those tulip panels to do the ones I want to do...I figure I can use the boot from the Revell Cobra convertibles w/ some mods (I have a few extra '96 Cobra conv. kits in my parts stash). I'm surprised someone in the resin world hasn't offered a convertible version of the '06 kit yet.
  20. Interesting..I have no idea what the difference between a Dana and a 8 3/4 rear end would be...would they look different in 1/25th scale?
  21. I have an extra Saleen '98 kit, and got the Scale Auto issue today... I want to do a stock '06 GT convertible, a GT500 convertible, a GT-H convertible, and something custom (2 seat roadster w/ a tonneau like the Saleen). For the GT-Hs maybe I'll scratchbuild an automatic shifter...they look simple enough looking at the brochure and pics online.
  22. My Australian Terrier, Nauti...10 pounds of joy.
  23. Not that I know of..I think it's a mythical place, like 'Podunk'....I always tell people I'm originally from Podunk, Ohio (which I am from, in Amish Country).
  24. Yes, RIP Phil... I've read his writings in Road & Track for 30 years probably.... fascinating guy.
  25. I've had people think I was from Iowa even after telling them I'm originally from Ohio....4 letters, both flat Midwestern states...I guess they get them confused. But I'm actually from eastern Ohio, which has more in common w/ western Pa than the Midwest..... hilly Appalachian foothills...I've managed to live in 6 states (OH, FL, MI, IL,CO, AZ) in 38 years. I'm flying to Pittsburgh this afternoon..will be fun to back in Ohio for Labor Day, get my Mustang out, take a few drives around the twisty back roads..
