Kit Karson replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Eric, Incredible! From the forethought to the execution and final result... this is truly an inspirational build! Your use of state of the art technology to create one-off parts reflects your mastery of our hobby! Thank you and know that your Art Deco Roadster is greatly appreciated! -KK -
What RRR said, ADL! I've said it before about your build style and I truly believe you real world life experience really shows in the detail and parts selection for any and all of your real and scale Hot Rod builds! If you inspired RRR with this roadster, you can only imagine how it makes me feel!?. So many desires and so little time! My bucket list grows on!! -KK

FunTak works great for quick mockups and I use white glue for more precise mockups where tolerances matter. Then just a short bath in warm water and the white glue dissolves and you're back in business! -KK

You guys are the best! Thank you all for the interest and very kind comments! I have had a conversation with an old friend about casting the body, but not ready, yet... Dennis Lacy reminded me about the ol' Tweety Pie Spring Hangers. Had thought that I was going to have to make a pair of custom hangers, these will do just fine! Thanks, ADL! They need to be cast and made part of a kit with the Model A Cross Member, Spring and Axle Housings! Ya think? -KK

The FLYING WEDGIE is done!!!!
Kit Karson replied to Rocking Rodney Rat's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Wedgie Wizard Works it!!! And, Wins the Wedgie War!!! What happened behind the scenes would have found this build in the trash... RRR fought the good fight and came out on top of the this pesky project! Proud of you, Brother! -KK -
1933 Ford Panel Hot Rod
Kit Karson replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
ADL, You are very welcome, Brother! It is the Hendrix's casting of the '34 Panel!. You're right, MCM Forum needs a Rod & Custom section dedicated to Hot Rods & Custom Cars scale builds! Maybe with enough support the MCM Forum management and the MCM Members will sway the Administrator(s) to create a proper category for truly purpose built Hot Rods and Customs... -KK -
K&R Kustoms+Rods '32 Smooth Double Nickel
Kit Karson replied to Rocking Rodney Rat's topic in Model Cars
Several years ago we lost a great caster and modeling friend, Ronnie Royston R.I.P, Brother. RRR and I had commissioned Ronnie with a few of our favorite parts, pieces and rims that we like to use in and on a few of our builds. Ronnie bartered with us and in return wanted a nicely chopped 3hree Window Coupe body. Ronnie passed suddenly and we were not able to complete our exchange. RRR and I Built the Double Nickel Deuce Coupe as a tribute to our good friend Ronnie Royston. -
TK, Brother... you are at the top of your game! Well played!! Used the plates on the '29 PU V-12 Midnight Auto Salvage K&R Kustoms+Rods Parts Truck a few years back...
