  2. Tom, there isn't a 'How To' on this particular paint job, but the same process is pictured in the build at link: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/kitkarsons1929v12fl/ Basically, lay down the undercoat color; let dry; add salt to the areas you want to show through from below your topcoat. Apply the topcoat color over the undercoat and salt; allow to dry; and rinse off the salt in clear water. Weather powder is applied to areas where you desire different surface effects. Light surface sanding can also add to the destressed look, too. Finish with a dull coat to lock the finish. -KK&-RRR
  3. My fav' is on my MV-10... RRR heated the rattle cans over a butane torch as I sprayed the body all in one fell swoop! -KK&-RRR
  4. OK, I have to admit, my favorite paint jobs belong to my "Best Man", Rockin' Rodney Rat (RRR)! -KK
  5. And, pay good money just to look! -KK
  6. Now that's a good word! -KK
  7. Kyle, how 'bout some more pics?!. And, where you sourced the parts for your 5ive Window Coupe with the patina finish? -KK Here's our Rolling Bones style '32 5ive Window:
  8. Happens to the best of us, Bro... you've got a nice start on this roadster and it'll get to the finish line, all in good time. All I've been able to do on my deuce roadster is collecting parts!?. one of the most exciting aspects to building any hot rod... is pulling the right parts together! -KK
  9. Maybe add a couple of cushions to the bottoms of the bomber seats, Bro! -KK
  10. Awesome, Brad! We all have eyes on your "lil Diddy" and maybe one of RRR T's will help inspire you to race to the finish line!?.
  11. ADL always has the best tips! Looking forward to seeing you finish your Vickie, Roger! -KK
  12. ADL, where is this "Under Glass"? -KK
  13. Matthew, RRR is one of a very few that can pull off a '60's "Show Rod" and even more impressive is the kit he started with! -KK

  19. Got it! ADL -KK
  20. RRR, you've out done your BAD self once again!! That ol' on-line Switcher's score turned out better than even you expected. Right chop, mill and rake... show quality interior and flaky sparkle on the body-n-block offset the shinny stuff just like an Aaron Kaufman build on Fast & Loud! Richard would be proud of your accomplishment, Brother!!! -KK MPC Ford T Coach or Cab Switchers
  21. Haven't finished the '33 coupe and have relocated in the last year to the country estate located in the Georgia rolling hills east of Alabama and just west of South Carolina. My new/old bench is alive and well in the bonus room over the parlor. A couple of dormers let in the natural light during the day and over work space lamps light the surface to work in the dark hours of the early mornings. I'll leave you with a few recent shots of the coupe before it landed back on my bucket stack of semi-started WIPs. Check you all later, -KK '33 Coupe Chassis Rear C Notch '33 Coupe Trunk Floor Restoration '33 Coupe Money Shot
  22. Another example of a better than average eye for proper proportions, a broad knowledge of period perfect hot rods, and brought together by the hands of a young and up coming plastic surgeon. ADL, you're one of a very few young guns in the hobby that will carry our torch into the next generation. Keep your vision and let your knowledge guide your hands with every future real and scale hot rod you build from here on out! As a member of a very exclusive group and as a mentor within the hobby, your execution and style has already been acknowledged around the world by modelers from every level and experience in both 1:1 and scale model cars. It's one thing to amass the parts and pull them together to build a model car, but to build a scale model of a period perfect hot rod... that takes an artist historian and a true craftsman! -KK
  23. You've taken a rather average model and turned it into a work of art and plastic mastery! Once said, "the devil is in the detail" or to catch or find a mysterious element hidden in the details, meaning that something might seem simple at a first look but will take more time and effort to complete/explore than expected. At first glance just another hotrod Model A Sedan, but a closer look finds an eye for period perfect aspects of the real deal! Awesome work, Brother ADL!! -KK
  24. Thanks to Pico's mad 3D design work and the test shots from Model Builders Warehouse we're on our way to have a set of custom lip-laced wire wheels. They're going on a not as flashy '29 Roadster Pickup (See Attached) -KK
