  1. Tom, you are so right on with your assessment of my progress... Here's where the saw meets the 'wall... Found a couple of wasted Revell Deuce recessed firewalls that will fill the bill! -KK
  2. Time to make the '39 Wagon Rod LT5, 375 hp, double overhead, V8 with electric fuel injection fit into the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody... Need to dress up a little frame mating... Let's see how it fits... so far so good... Houston! We have a problem!! -KK

  7. Thanks, Wayne! I am amazed, myself!! Measure thrice... cut a little and measure again before you cut anymore!!! When I started this project I thought it was going to end up being more complicated. But, surprise, surprise... this is getting close to being ready for paint and assembly. -KK
  8. Continued fitting interior parts under the bodywork... Everything under to hood fits! Had to shorten the Woody's floor pan... and, then mocked up the body with the door panels, floor pan, chassis, firewall & inner fender wells... It all fits together! -KK

  11. Got to work on the IFS & it looks pretty good, so far... This will have to start coming together pretty soon... And, the deck is still stretched out on top of the hull. -KK

  13. Spent a little time under the hood... and, enlarged the front hobs. -KK Finished trimming the edge of the deck... here's the bottom of the hull. -KK Oh, did the final fitment of the bulkheads and interior Lots yet to do! -KK

  15. Working on the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody Hood '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody Hood just a shade wide at the cowl One cut and it just about fits perfectly! A drop of AC & hold it together... Snugged right up... Pretty good fit, so far! A little feathering on the corners... And, we have a pretty good fitting hood! Don't you think or don't you? -KK

  18. Spent a little more time on the chassis and this is where you find out the difference between box stock and resin cast... the latter is often times mm's thicker in places. Had to do a mock up... hadn't set it up with the work so far done: both comin' and goin'! Oops! Just noticed the engine hatch needs to be opened up, pretty soon! going to have to flip the deck over and go to work! the stops will have to be removed and replaced to get the hatch cur open from the inside: Stay tuned! This is going to a street rod show down south in April and RRR has challenged me to getting these done. -KK

  20. Nice to see someone doing justice to an under appreciated Model A Roadster kits! Yea, I have a couple planned, but have yet to pull the trigger. RRR has pre-ordered 4 of the promised re-released roadster kits! So, until we get our hands on the new/old kit, I'll just be watching you finish yours! -KK
  21. Got to stick some inner-fenders under the hood of the woody: Most everything fits... And, just a little trimming and the chassis should slip right into place! -KK
  22. Tom, the hull is from the Revell 7242 Gone Fishing Dodge RamCharger and BASS Boat Model 1/25 McM KIT FS Changed out the transom... more on this conversion to come -KK
  23. There's another part to this build... the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody is going to be the tow vehicle for the Woodpecker Speed Boat: So, do you all mind if I add the Woodpecker Speed Boat to the coverage of the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody build? -KK
  24. Martin, thanks for checking back... my '33 has been placed on the back burner so I could catch up on a speed boat I was starting for a modeling buddy. In the process of working on it, he took a pass on finishing it! And, of course I had to have a tow vehicle! (check out: '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody "On The Workbench") I'll be getting back on the '33 later this spring. -KK
