  1. Looking great. I love the color.and I do believe that I have the same pearl yellow nail polish, or very similar. I have a 63 Stingray built up to redo. It is in just about the same condition as yours was. Good to know what I am in store for in the near future. Later-
  2. That is looking great. Nice work on the interior and paint. I've got to get me one of these. Love the body style. Thanks for the decals too. They will come in handy. Later-
  3. I got the interior together on the stock one. http:// http:// The body has quite a bit of deep orange peel that is being a bear to sand out. Gonna take a bit more work than I expected. Later-
  4. Thanks for the comment Lowlife. I've always heard them called Subies (which I'm not fond of but it made for a good title) I still have a coat or two of putty to go on the hood, but I'm making progress during my breaks. I managed to get the first bit of the wet sanding started on the red one with the 4000 grit. Got the roof, trunk and hood done. It had a bit of cracks in the clearcoat. Sure hope I don't burn through again, but the worst of it is done. The rest of the body won't take as much. I may start on it with the 6000 or even the 8000 and see how it looks. I've got all but the painting around the window glass done and ready to go together. Tomorrow I'll put the interior together and try to finish the wet sanding on the red one. Later-
  5. I finished detail painting the interior of the stock one today but got no pictures yet. I also worked a bit on the hood of the custom one. First coat of putty sanded and a quick shot of primer to see where I'm at. http:// http:// http:// Not looking too bad for a flunkie. Later-
  6. Looking great! The primer does make it easier to see the.overall look of the.project. I doubt I'll be starting mine anytime soon. I've got WAY too many projects underway as it is. But, you have panted the seed. I'll keep watching. Later-
  7. Beautiful job! That polishing job looks great. Keep it up. It's going to really come to life with the foil in place. Later-
  8. FINALLY!! Someone who understands where I'm coming from. Lol! Actually, I think that there are many of us out there. Your project looks like a great one. Just the right look. Later-
  9. Thanks. Verdoro green is one color I want. I also want to get KJ6 Avocado Gold......and maybe some Tripoli Turquoise and........ From what I saw your 1964 Mercedes 396 blue is listed twice. One.looks a bit darker than the other. Which did you get? Later-
  10. So I found Automotive Touchup paint on line but is this a paint that is carried at chain stores like Auto zone or Pep Boys or something? I'd love to find a local store that carries it. Later-
  11. Since I am building two Subies at the same time I needed to change the title. I've been working on the interior of the stock one today. I have the interior just set in place for now. I still need to paint the flat red accent color on the door panels and seats. Other than that the interior is completed. http:// http:// Later-
  12. Got a bit more done during my breaks today. Since I burned through the paint in a couple of small spots I sprayed a couple.more color coats and then three more coats of clear. http:// http:// Also got some work done on the interior. Sprayed a coat of Duplicolor dark grey- turned out to look like flat black to my untrained eye. I misted on a bit of grey for contrast and to help simulate a bit of carpet. http:// Any comments or criticisms welcomed. Later-
  13. Wow! I love the conversion that you did on this. You should get back.on this and finish it up. Later-
  14. That looks fantastic. Amazing detail work. Later-
  15. Very nice! I want to do mine like this but in Verdoro green. Beautiful work. Later-
  16. That is looking great! I wish I had never gotten rid of that kit now. I love the green on it and can't wait to see how the polishing comes out. You're doing fantastic. I hope the move in is going well. Later-
  17. Thanks for the info Rob. I'll check then out. Later-
  18. That is looking fantastic! Love the custom work on the interior. Not overly done. Just perfect. Did you ever figure out a wash for the seats? I would think that a mix of white a d light grey would work. Just dark enough to bring out the lines. Your interior reminds me of a custom interior I was working on for.my 66 Nova. I used modified leather seats from a Dubs Suburban and made a full length center console. I like how you added the console top from the 50 Ford (iirc). I have questions about the suspension on the 4X4 in the background of your first pic. I am working on a lift suspension for the 99 Silverado and trying to get some ideas. Got any photos of it? Later-
  19. Very nice work. This is looking like a fun little build. Keep it coming! Later-
  20. Looks like I'll have to do a search....... Later-
  21. This is one of my favorite body styles. I've got two in progress. The first is one that I cut the top completely off of about 25 years ago. I finally started painting it a few months ago (maroon fenders and cream body) The second one I just chopped the top on a few months back. I also have an unstated kit on the shelves. Can't wait to see where yours takes you. Later-
  22. This is going to be great! Nice to see a plain jane once in a while. Who makes the resin body? Later-
  23. That is a great looking color on body! Good to see your modeling and house projects are moving forward. Downtime is a good time for planning out new projects. I'm looking forward to see your next update. Later-
  24. Looking good. Nice work on the motor and I love the lace paint. Keep it up. Later-
