  1. That is gorgeous work! Nicely done. Later-
  2. That is beautiful so far. I have had a desire to start building some of these pre-war classics. I picked up the Italeri/Testors 33 Cadillac Town Cabriolet recently for $14. Can't wait to start it and I will pick up a few others soon. I'll be watching to see how yours turns out. Later-
  3. This is looking great. Nice work on the paint. I understand your frustration on the paint job. I have been trying to finish my 41 Willys and every time I turn around I am having to repaint. I had to repaint the body once (not including touch ups) after I took it to a local show to display on the "in progress" table. The clear coat had a reaction to the terrycloth towel I wrapped the body in. I have had to repaint the hood 5 times now. I dropped it once right after painting, I had a crack show up during the polishing stage from the blower hole I filled. I am on my fourth can of Tamiya spray paint and it is getting empty. I'll need to buy another to get the hood finished. At almost $8. a can that will be $40 to paint this thing! I feel your pain. Keep after it. It's looking good. Later-
  4. Wow! What a beautiful job. The paint is amazing. Nice work. Later-
  5. Beautiful work. I am amazed with this. I have a question. How do you make the curved parts such as the wheel centers on this model? Is it layers of balsa that you carve the details out of, or do you get the balsa to bend simehow? Later-
  6. You will want to wash it with soapy water and a toothbrush before you respray. Later-
  7. Looks nice! I like how you sectioned yours.Very old school look. I always hated chopping these until I did my latest one. Looks very similar but I think mine is a bit lower. Keep it up. I'll be watching to see how it turns out. Later-
  8. Nice custom touches. Tastefully done. Caught the customized plate right off. Later-
  9. That's looking great. Those die-cast cars often have wheels and tires that fit very well on pickups with larger wheelwells. As far as the grille goes, I am unsure. Later-
  10. Very cool. Love the different wheel choice than normal. Glad to see you moving forward on this. I am at the same sand/polish stage on my chopped 41 Willys. I was trying to get it finished for a show last month and didn't make it. Now to get back on it.
  11. Looking great so far! Can't wait to see the grilles in it. That will help bring it to life. Later-
  12. That will be a good color for it. Are you interested in getting rid of the engines, racing parts and racing decals? If so, PM me please. Later-
  13. Man, that's looking nice! Later-
  14. Looking great! Keep it up. I have many kits in the same status as yours. As a matter of fact I have a 55 Ford Stroh's pickup kit that I started around 1993(?) and have modified to the hilt. Sad thing is, I am not as far along as you are on this. I have chopped the top, pancaked the hood, moved the front wheel wells forward, widened the rear fenders, shortened the bed, rolled the pans, smoothed the running boards, etc, etc,etc.....Someday I'll get back on it. 15. Looking good! Later-
  16. That turned out great John!! The trailer with the left over trunk was a good idea too. I love what you are doing on yours too Dr. Kerry. Very ingenious work. Later-
  17. Still looking great! I like the mods you've done. Making me want to go pick that kit up....maybe tomorrow. Later-
  18. The idea and execution of this is amazing! I would love to do this in 1:1. What an idea. I got a wonderful surprise this morning when I came in to work. A co-worker left a Tamiya Impreza WRX STi kit on my desk. I have one in the stash that was missing the headlight buckets and another piece or two. Now I have a complete kit to mold parts from. It's a great Friday! Later-
  19. Gorgeous work! Paint is fantastic too. I love this body style. Later-
  20. This is looking good! I think your idea of removing the hump was spot on. Keep it up. This kit is for sale at a local thrift store and I have been eyeing it for quite some time. I now know that I have to get it. Later-
  21. That paint is looking perfect for that year of truck. I did a 68 Firebird in the Testors Root Beer with Light Ivory interior. It is a nice combo. Later-
  22. I like where this is going. Always fun to mix and match. Keep it up. Later-
  23. Simply beautiful. The chop is spot on, the paint is gorgeous and I love the white running boards. Nice work. Working on finishing mine up. Later-
  24. I always went with the thought "Measure once, cut twice, glue thrice." Seems to not work for me. Just remember, it's not scratchbuilding till you draw blood! Enjoying the start of your build. Have fun and keep at it. Later-
  25. That is looking just beautiful. Great job on the repaint. After looking at yours I have realized that I am going to have to put the drip rail back on mine now that it is chopped. It gives it more of a finished look. Great work. Later-
