Revell Mustang II Cobra "street machine" finished
Modlbldr replied to JTalmage's topic in Model Cars
Turned out great. Must have been the extra day....lol Later- -
Yeah, JT. I really want to see that Mustang finished. Later-

Thanks again guys. I had bought this years ago with the intention of doing a modern style dune buggy by sectioning/trimming off the very bottom of the body sides and adding a buggy interior bucket. I may find another kit someday and give it a try. Later-

Beautiful job on the three day build. I like your choice of pant on this. We will have to do this again next year. Later-

Revell 1969 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible - Acapulco Blue

Fantastic build Randy. These were beautiful cars and your build shows that perfectly. Love the color too. Later- -
Thanks Clayton. I enjoyed the work you did on that Nova. Great paint work. Later-

I threw my hat in the ring this last weekend to do the 3 day weekend CBP. I let my wife pick the kit out of 5 different kits I figured fit the bill. She picked the Vette AGIN and said that she wanted me to paint it Sublime Green. I had raided the kit for the tires and wheels a while back so I grabbed a set from the parts box. Here is what I ended up with. The engine: The paint on the seat was the result of a long night and a couple of adult beverages. Need to touch it up. The rest: It was a fun little build but the front sits a bit too high. There is also no mirrors or license plate. I may add these later. Later-

Thanks Sean. I've seen many others make tail lights out of things. That's the reason I've kept just about any piece of red plastic for quite a while and this is the first time I've made one. The curve of the pen was perfect for the light. It only took me about 5 minutes to make it then a half hour to wait for the Future to dry enough to install. Later-

I FINISHED!! (At least with what comes in the kit. It still needs a license plate and at least one mirror. I also would like to spend a little time tweaking the front stance but probably wont. This is a fun little kit. It wasn't too bad going together.I had originally bought this years ago to do an updated version of a Speed Buggy type of dunebuggy. Thanks for all of the kind replies throughout. I had a blast and now have another kit for the shelf at work. Good work everyone! Later-

Take one tail lighy, one pen and a little determination and this is the results. Kit light on the left, mine on the right. Just need to add a bit of Future polish. I'm still in this. Got just a bit left. Later-

Everything looks great guys. Much better than mine. Too bad about the back Rob. Don't worry. It will get done. I'm thinking that I will be able to finish. We will see Later-

Finally a little something to break up all of the green. Upon further inspection I just realized that I am missing one tail light! Now for plan B. Later-

Looking good guys. I like the way my engine turned out but the detailing on the seats leaves a lot to be desired. I guess that's what I get for trying to paint the yellow in my dark garage in between chatting with friends after trying a lemon drop martini and a mojito last night. I may need to go back and touch them up, if I find time. Later-

This is the current ride height. Not good. The rear will be easy to adjust. The front, not so much. But I'll keep at it. Still have tomorrow. Later-

Looking great guys! JT- I like that a lot. I'm getting through some of the slow phases tonight. All of the little detail painting. I've got the wheels on and I'm about to attach the interior bucket to the chassis. Pictures soon. Later-
-
Those look great Scott and Sean. I will be back at the bench soon. I have company right now but after that.... Later-

Bob- What kind of fit issues? Thanks, guys, for the kind words. The paint is MM Sublime green. The photos make it much more of a bright green than it is. I'll take some.outside photos when finished to see if it looks more accurate. Later-

I sat down for a minute and polished the body. Nothing extravagant. Just getting a little smoother surface for the decals. Tonight I'll get the rest of the engine done and the rear wheels on. I'll also get the detailing of the interior done. Hey Sean, get some photos posted!! Later-
-
Looking good everyone. For the couple who are having paint issues I hope it comes out alright. I have the turntable on playing some early Traffic and I'm back at the table. Working on getting the engine together along with putting the chassis and pan together. I've got to get the interior detail painted so that I can get it together. Anybody else have progress pictures? Later-

Just so that everyone doesn't think that I'm farther along than I am my last photo was just a body and interior mock up on two loose wheels for my wife to get an idea of what it will look like. I still have a ways to go before it's up on its wheels. For now I'm back to the bench! Later-
-
If I can get it to sit just like this I'll be happy. To bed for the night. Later-
-
Just a question, but should it be cause for concern when my three day build looks as good, if not better, than ones I spend months on? Just askin'..... Later-
-
Further progress: That's it for a bit. Time for dinner. Then I'll get the wheels on the chassis and see what comes next. Later-

Not a Milk of Magnesia bottle. Way too small It was a perfume It says Bourjois on the bottom. It was a perfume made from the 20's to 1960 called "Evening in Paris" according to the World Wide Innertube. Well, time for a short break from the bench. Later-

I'm on to painting the exhaust. Got the engine block painted Canary yellow and just coated the old decals with Future for safety's sake. If they don't come out good I'll scrap them. Interior is going to be Canary yellow and white. Shouldn't be hard to see this one in a crowd. Later-
